Women find humour attractive, not necessarily jokes. You don't have to be actively funny. If you aren't, don't try. Just smile and brush things off easily and she'll realize that you're easygoing. As a person who has the ability to make people laugh with conversational improv, I find it painful when a joke falls flat. I don't use canned jokes because I can't tell them.

If you are going to make jokes/quips about situational things, make sure you're not going to offend anyone. Don't make midget jokes about midgets, ginger jokes about gingers, etc. This is standard social stuff, but I dunno how much of a neckbeard you are. ;)

If you do make a joke that falls flat, just transition into something a bit more serious or something... Hmm. Here's an example:

Me: How do you know [friend]?

Her: Oh, we just met. I'm Leia.

Me: Like the Princess?

Her: [looks unimpressed]

Me: [smiling and slightly joking still] Sorry, I shouldn't make that joke. I'm called X and I get [X joke] whenever I meet someone new. I could go by [Y] but then I get [Y jokes] all the time.

Bam. Conversation recovered. This is a bit harder if you just randomly pull a shitty knock-knock joke out of your hat.

Take some comedy classes and watch lots of stand-up and you'll learn to be funny. The problem with movie-funny/standup-funny is that it's hard to make it translate to real life. Being a goofy Jim Carrey funny wouldn't make you sexy. Being Mitch Hedberg withdrawn-and-dark funny would make you seem like you were depressed and suicidal (who's getting the last laugh now, Mitch!?).

Hmmm, I stumbled into this thread/subredit and I'm nooooo seductionist... but I always crack people up and I've studied humor.

Watching a ton of standup seemed to help me a lot. The periods of my life where I watch the most is where I seem to be the funniest. Its werid though. You'd be surprised how sometimes a random joke you heard just seems to flow out from nowhere. Its kinda creepy, it just, happens. I suggest watching it and not just listening to it, body language blah blah blah. There are 'places' where you can get giant 'packs' of such videos.

Its a pretty awesome method because, its fun. Watching standup is just fun. The vast majority of comedy in the world is 'situational', putting the characters in a strange place. Great to watch, but that not useful in real life. Even something like Colbert or the Daily Show has a short setup or news clip, and then makes a joke- which is not useful unless you carry around powerpoint with you.

Humor is weird though... its so different person to person. A joke someone loves will piss someone else off. But humor is a super good way to tell how much someone likes you. Its hard to describe but how they laugh and how much they laugh really denote a lot. After I lost all my fat, put in contacts, and dressed like a normal human- I was shocked at how suddenly I was much 'funnier' to women and less funny to men(more threatening maybe? I dunno)

Do you have a smartphone? If so, download Pandora and listen to the "Today's Comedy" station. Just emulate what you find funny. Find out what makes you laugh, think about WHY it makes you laugh, then try to recreate that experience for others. A word of warning: Don't go overboard on the humor. You don't want to be a clown, but you also don't want to take yourself too seriously. It's a balance.

You don't have to tell jokes to be funny.

First, your comedy has to be you. If there's something that makes your perspective about the world or some every day thing unique, figure that out. Voice it. See if it gets a laugh.

For me, people think the funniest part of me is that I'm very frank and don't really have a filter for what I think. I just say it, and a lot of times it's zany.

Ex:

Girl - "My friend is going to be meeting us here in a few minutes. She's great!"

Me - "Is she hot?"

Girl - "She has a boyfriend."

Me - "... so... is she hot?"

Girl - "Hahaha, oh YOU!" while slapping me on the arm

Me - "What the fuck? You didn't answer the question, jackass."

Girl - more laughing

So, yeah, that's me.

Find what quirk in your personality makes other people stop for a beat. That's where the humor is.

Dont deliver jokes then. Some people have it some people dont. I can't speak for people who don't have it...cause I'm a funny guy. Sometimes. Watch Sasha day game video on YouTube, entitled how can I be more funnier (yes, same as your post.) oh and if you tell a bad joke? Don't give a fuck, you and yourself do not depend on someone else's reaction, you're there to have fun and see if that girl is compatible/suit your liking. Not the other way around.

I noticed almost anything said with confidence and stuck to can be interesting and funny.

Most of the jokes become offensive or unfunny when you show lack of confidence in them. I tend to stick with the stuff I say till the end, and given the receiver is not more alpha than I am, it usually works pretty well.

Watch late-night comedy shows. Especially the interview segments (or you can just watch youtube clips). Look for Craig Ferguson and Conan in particular. They don't tell jokes in the interview segments but they're getting laughs all the time.

I don't think it's necessarily about being 'haha' funny. I'm good humored and I may get the odd quip in here and there around my guy friends, but none of them would call me hilarious. Females on the other hand often tell me that I'm very funny, which is interesting because the only thing I do differently with females is act cocky and pretend to be a dick.

Ex. The girl I'm currently seeing told me once that she thought I was "sooo nice." Me: "No, I'm not. I'm a complete jerk." Her: "You are not. You're sweet." Me: "Nope. I'm a jerk. If we were going into a restaurant I wouldn't hold the door open for you." (she already knows I always hold doors open for her). Her: "Well, I'd hold the door open for you." Me: "You would if you knew what was good for you." her: "You... jerk! ha ha."

Not particularly funny, but she for some reason she got a laugh out of it and then grabbed my arm tighter. She often comments on how she loves my cockiness (Wtf, women?) and the best part is that I'm mostly just amusing myself.

It's David D's cocky/funny formula and it works like a charm.

How to recover after a bad joke? Dude, it's not about the bad joke, it's about the confidence you have after saying it. You can literally say anything if you're not flustered. I've pointed in a girls face after a joke went south and said "Hey, that's funny stuff. You should be laughing. what's the matter with you?" They'll say something like, "that wasn't funny." Then you say, "Oh, yeah? well, why don't you tell a joke then. Hey everyone, gather around, random girl here is going to tell us a really funny joke." (all light-hearted of course).

Just make your reality stronger than theirs.

I find humor to be overrated. Women say they find humor to be of upmost importance; there was a good post from a little back that strongly pointed out that women are not impartial, and therefore make poor judges on what actually works on them (same things for guys I guess). I'm a pretty serious guy, yet I still have a healthy social life and don't usually have a problem talking to girls. I think women just want to see if they can actually talk with you and if you have a nice smile, you don't need to be a comedian for either.

If you ever watch SimplePickup, if one of their jokes bombs, they will actively point it out to the girl and change the subject. Usually they get a laugh by pointing it out.

Comedy is all about delivery. Everyone will tell you that. You can immediately connect comedy to storytelling, then. Watch comedians, pay attention to the pauses and how they deliver jokes, and practise. Practise to yourself, to others, and to that weird jar of something that's been sitting in your fridge for years. The second part of having material is owning it and being comfortable with it.

You've got to say a lot of unfunny stuff before your brain figures out what is actually funny.

Same way a comedian has to bomb in front of a crowd 100 times before he can bring the house down once.

You'll suck for a couple months, then you'll suck less.

You have to be careful with humor when dealing with women. It is definently a plus to be able to make them laugh, but you must be careful not to come across as too goofy or silly. I know this from experience. If you have nothing but jokes and humor, women will not take you seriously. You will then be friendzoned. Where it is good to be humorous, your other inner game components must also be strong in order to create attraction.

Find out how YOU are funny. I know that I'm funniest when I don't give a shit at all and am just making little commentaries on things (if you don't get what I mean by this watch some Seinfeld or Curb Your Enthusiasm). You're probably telling a joke thinking the whole time 'man I hope she likes it, will she like it? Will she think I'm funny? Will she like me?' You should be saying things that YOU think are funny and that make YOU laugh. Trust yourself to bring the funny.

As long as you're not planning to do stand up, humor is something that anyone can pick up. However, the people here saying "watch stand up" or "take an improv class" won't really improve yourself, but rather improve your comedy act as a future comedian. IMO, the problem with stand up comedy or improv nowadays is that it has become more "humorous" and less "witty." I have found that wit tends to be a better asset to have than humor, and women find that more sexy. Think about it.

Humor is attempting to be comical or amusing. Wit is perceived to be someone with a reasonable amount of intelligence and have the ability to think on their feet. In fact, some of my female friends have told me that I am intelligent person, however I have rarely had a intellectual discussion with any of them (I have with my male friends and we usually talk about economics, history, philosophy. Starts to sound like Hardball with Chris Matthews or Real Time with Bill Maher after a while). Women don't love humorous guys, they love witty men. They love witty men because they see it as a form of intelligence, and intelligence is sexy as hell.

If you want a good example of wit being used, watch a Judd Apatow film like "Pineapple Express", "The 40 Year Old Virgin", "Knocked Up" or "Funny People". Especially "Funny People". I love that movie because if I was hanging with Seth Rogan and Adam Sandler's characters, I would be right there with them making smartass/witty comments every now and then as well. Study the situations and dialogue Apatow's characters and you'll get a good sense of how to go about using wit.

From my personal experience, it's just practice. In fact, it's really about a matter of "vocabulary". You ever had a situation where someone said something, but you couldn't think of a quick sentence of response? Then like five minutes later, you actually thought up of a real good response but it's too late? Commit that response to memory because it's more than likely you will encounter a situation like again. Then the next time it happens, you're prepared and ready. Keep remembering these responses and commit to memorizing it, then you'll have a full arsenal smart ass/witty responses at your disposal. In fact, browse around some of the posts on seddit. I've seen numerous situations that guys were in and I've seen many responses from fellow community members that were very witty (And I've used some of them too).

Also, remember that if being quick isn't your strong suit, then make the most of being slow. By this I mean, let everyone else's chatter subside, then toss in a casual, off-the-cuff wit. When trying to be funny, timing is everything. Even if you don't have a good comeback, try some verbal irony. you can always do some heavy pauses and say things "Yeah well-- Yea and...well you're a...Screw it! I got nothing! I hate you!" At least you will get a smile and a chuckle.

The most important thing of all: MAKE FUN OF YOURSELF. Do it easily, laughingly, and often. Especially, when someone tries to put you down.

If someone can truly answer this or even has a good resource then I will be flabbergasted, but here's my attempt:

What do you find funny? What do you laugh at when you are with yourself? Do you laugh? If you aren't the kind of guy who likes to laugh then don't even attempt to be funny IMO. You'll just come across as a creep. I know people like that. shudder

Sorry, but you have to be quick witted to be funny, and it helps to be really intelligent and have a high IQ. Yeah, I know people will now try to find examples of all the dumb people who are funny, but those people are either acting dumb or you are laughing at them and not with them. Try getting smarter?

Practice. Study the masters. Study their timing and delivery. But don't be on stage. That's a big no-no in seduction.
