u/APBohm I can tell instantly from just these two photos that you have a happy energy that is fun to be around. You are very close with your friends and loyal and value them very much. You also have some body insecurities (since you pasted asking how you look) BUT you are also courageous and brave enough to ask for help and thoughts. I'm going to guess that what you want to watch out for is that you should not settle for someone simple because you are happy to have a boyfriend or girlfriend. I think you’ve got a nice smile. I wouldn’t necessarily ditch the glasses. Maybe go on Zenni and see what kind of cute styles they’ve got. I get wonky glasses and get compliments all the time, I love wearing glasses! If you where to just eat a little healthier I’m sure you’d feel better about yourself, however I don’t think it’s absolutely a requirement yknow? Everyone can stand to lose a few pounds, myself included. But if you're nerdy or boring... I think that is subjective. If you're serious about finding a person, 8 wouldn't let boring and nerdy be detractors, rather I'd make them something to be proud of. Also boring and nerdy are subjective and you can't glean that much from a singular picture, often. But yes, a few pounds less, perhaps a more stylistic frame (or a style that matches those frames) and you should be good to go.

Put it this way - 99% of guys would not look twice at you.

The great thing is that there is so much potential. Honestly, 6 months / 1 year of work in the gym would make you even better looking than your friend.

Lose the glasses, and use lenses for the great eyes.

Consider wearing less baggy clothes.

LIGHT make-up.

Suddenly a lot more of these comments would be positive.

Honest assessment:

You look like you have nice eyes, that’s a big plus
Like others said, getting in better shape is the biggest factor here. Even losing about 10 lbs will help
The frumpy, oversized pink hoodie has to go. Girls can look good in hoodies, but that one looks like you borrowed it from your mom
Your teeth look slightly stained in this picture. Suggest whitening
You would look good with lighter hair.

Summary: If you lose 10-15 lbs, dress better, lighten your hair, whiten your teeth, you have potential. Having nice eyes is big advantage.

As a person obsessed with health and nutrition, I would say the biggest thing you need to work on is weight, but that’s entirely changeable and within your capability. Focus on eating a lot of whole foods and recipes made from scratch, and exercise 30–60 mins 5/days a week. The weight will shed off, but what’s most important is that you will be healthy and probably feel very good.

These other commenters are telling you to lose weight, and that's fine, but make sure you are doing it for YOU. Losing weight for the sole reason to attract the opposite sex is a recipe for self-esteem issues.

But here is some advice I have for you as a successful woman in dating.

You have long, beautiful hair. You can get it cut with layers that frames your face to make it look smaller. Learning how to do a blow out will also make a big difference! I recommend Revlon one step for beginners.

There is nothing wrong with your glasses and looking "nerdy." I think nerdy glasses can give a sexy academic vibe but to each their own. If you want, you could look for a better pair of glasses that suit your face shape and also look younger/more fashionable. Check out Warby Parker for affordable but stylish frames.

Also, are you into skincare? Women that are more fair in complexion can really show damage in their skin barrier and texture even if they have "clear" skin. Because of this, white women who do not have a good skincare routine tend to not age as well and look older than they are. Make sure you have skincare products for YOUR skincare type and WEAR sunscreen.

Are you into makeup? If you are, make sure your skincare routine is solid. Need a good base to apply makeup!

If you're new or not very experienced with makeup, try a no makeup, makeup look. I'm really into that style of makeup myself and I posted an image of one my fav foundations on me. It's for the L'oreal 24hr Fresh Wear and it looks like SKIN. If you want to treat yourself, grab the nars light reflecting foundation. Both of these foundations are great for all skin types. With makeup, you can also contour to make yourself look smaller. A great hack is to use your blush as contour ;) you will look younger, radiant, and still snatched!

Many people tell you to lose weight. However, if you don’t want to and feel healthy you don’t need to. My advice is to put some effort, I don’t know the context of your picture but when you go out use nicer clothes and maybe lipstick, it can be a huge difference

If you want to lose weight, then do it, but for yourself & not because people on Reddit told you too. Losing weight is hard enough as it is. But you’re not THAT overweight & as we all know a significant portion of the population is overweight/obese anyway (I’m assuming you’re in the US).

Some fast fixes that I can recommend are:

New glasses - those frames are really outdated & do you no favors even if they were in style.
New clothes. Just because you have some weight to lose doesn’t mean you have to wear unflattering outfits. Pick something that’s going to highlight a physical asset. I suggest getting a great push-up bra & showing a little cleavage. You can be in-your-face about it or more subtle. I’m guessing a more understated approach would be more comfortable for you and that’s the whole point - do what fits your personality to begin with, and polish up your presentation.
New hairstyle-center part, soft fringe, highlights. It’s amazing what a new updated style can do to boost confidence!

I think you’re really cute, and judging from your smile you seem like you are a lot of fun to be around. Some small subtle changes will go a long way to helping you feel amazing & energized, and that is always extremely attractive!

Find a fitting outfit, not that loose sweater, lose some weight, get a nice haircut.. you have great eyes and very nice proportions on your face! The weight losing party may be the hardest but also will give you the best results :) start slow! But just start! Yo have blue eyes which is already a good thing. Lots of people in many cultures find blue eyes very attractive. But You could try to make your teeth whiter because they’re yellow. And about the weight, it all depends on what kind of guys u searching for, some men will love that weight, specially if it gives a fat butt and big tits, but if it makes u insecure, then u could start working out. The glasses are fine. The hair is fine. Just make those teeth whiter
