Backstory: There's a girl in my class. I like her and about a year ago I kinda asked her out (invited her for coffee), she said no. A couple of weeks ago I started liking her again and a common friend said I have more chances then I had then. I changed both mentally and physically. She just broke up with her bf.

Question: She's really pretty, with beautiful eyes and smile. I want to compliment her but without sounding too straightforward. I'm trying to make a connection with her, but I'm very shy and awkward. I'm nervous just asking her any simple question (what hour is it, etc.). So how or what compliments can I give her without sounding too straightforward.
