It works like this for everything. It's like studying before an exam. You think it's going to help? Nope.

You're better off studying a few days before, taking a break the day before the exam and THEN doing the exam. You will be more relaxed, more effective and you get a better mark.

This applies to everything. You can only learn so much and you need time to relax and mull over it a little bit.

Starting off with my adventure of becoming a more interesting person, and more extroverted. I would read about "game" and FR's before I would go out. It actually was kind of detrimental to my actual adventures.

Now a days, I barely read this subreddit anymore. Unless I find a title reeeeaaal interesting I won't really read anything.

Analysis paralysis does affect some people in tasks, and this is definitely an instance where there is such an overwhelming amount of ideas and theory that it can definitely become a bit much.

However reviewing information after going out into the field can be a very rewarding experience. There's nothing quite like trying something out, and then reading up on it to tweak it for future. Best of luck to you, though.

I dont get the "study" stage. Are you reading this for weeks and then going out and trying what you've learned? i go out every weekend, just cuz I want to, so its not like i'm studying then applying. I peek in here to see whats going on, but not to really study. Pick up some tips along the way but always go out
