I had a solid 3 or 4 year dry spell (I could do the math and nail it down exactly, but I stopped counting after a year because I was convinced I'd never get laid again) where half the time I was kinda trying and the other half I was pretty content with where I was. I'm pretty god damned insecure but in the last year or so I've become pretty secure in my insecurities if that makes any sense. I just started having short conversations with strange women or women on the outskirts of my small social circle, and if I noticed they were smiling while I was talking I'd ask them for coffee. That was it, that was where my following of r/seduction's guidelines ended.

I am a chronic over-apologizer, I'm not super confident in my own abilities, I'm often way too honest, and I'm incapable of flirting. When I realized for the first time I was about to do the deed with this aproach I even admitted that I hadn't had sex in ''over a year'', and that the forthcoming session could very well be ''disastrous''. She didn't care. It was disastrous but we had sex a second time and it was freaking phenomenal. From then on I've just rinsed and repeated the same approach, and a solid 1/4th of the time I'm invited back to their place, and at least half the time I have a good conversation over coffee. The remaining 1/4 are just boring and stilted and I mark it up to us not being a good fit. I don't know what point I'm trying to make here other than just ask to get a fucking cup of coffee, and don't expect anything other than conversation maybe? I dunno, thanks for hearing me out guys.
