I think what happened to you is pretty normal. You may have run out of juice with HB and thats when they went in. You may want to try and isolate HB.

So you got rejected, and perhaps it was catalyzed by a couple of morons. Whatever. Move on, open to someone else. Letting this single rejection ruin your night is a very beta thing on your part.

So I asked them [the guys] who are they and why are they interrupting.

If I were in your place, I would not have acted hostile to the other guys. You already have bitchy girl against you, why make more enemies? I would have greeted them warmly, try to get them to like you, build social value, ?????, profit!!, etc.

But those are just my thoughts. I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination, so if I'm making mistakes, please call me out on them.

You say you opened a two set, but it sounds like you were only talking to one of them. This never works out if they are friends as the bored one will try to work against you. Either open a 2-set with a wing or entertain them both.

Wow, great suggestions, guys! Sometimes I get too emotionally involved in conversations. I want the set to go well, so when it doesn't I fight to keep it going instead of cutting my losses and moving on.

I've had a problem where I was leaving a set too early, so I wanted to work on it and stay in a set longer. I think the right course of action was to talk to engage the dude and chat with him up for a bit.

I think you should of maybe attacked the negatives a little bit more. Make the obstacles work for you, not against you. So try to get the girl ignoring you to open up, if she remains unwilling ask the target if she's always like that. If you do it right you shouldn't sound like a jerk since you've attempted to open her but she's just being off. When she says that it's her girlfriend she's just opened herself so I'd say something like, "Really? that's awesome, too bad because your just my type. How long have you guys been together?" That way you've acknowledged what she's said, showed interest but shrugged it off by asking her about them and getting her to talk. Now you've questioned the legitimacy of her claim without interrogating her on it by showing genuine interest. If you get her to talk then the 3 of you are now having fun so you need to lock in. By this point the whole dynamic has changed so the 2 guys might not even step in. If they do, turn to them smile and say "Hey, how's it going?", and turn back to the girls and continue. By acknowledging them but not responding to their shit test you gain the upper hand. If you ignore it then bitchy girl can respond for you. If they continue ask your target if they know each other. Since she seems to be into you she's not gonna try to eject you like bitchy girl might, and when she says no just carry on and the guys should get the message. If they don't just continue to ignore them but maybe smirk at the girls to convey you know what's going on while you continue to chat to them. If you feel the tension escalating go for a number close or leave the girls with a couple stories on cliff hangers so you can re-open them later. If you feel your confidence is dead go get a shot of whiskey, always perks me up.

I would have given the guy a wtf look then asked the nice girl who he was. When she confirmed he wasn't her friend I'd ignore him and just carry on talking to her.

Having said that it does seem like you may have come across as hassling them, but that might not be the case.

Two sets can be the hardest to open. You have to open both of them, otherwise one ends up bored and wanting you to leave. Sometimes you just can't win people over. You just have to accept it and move on, like you did.

Sometimes you can find a guy in the bar who'll wing for you. That wouldn't have worked in this case, though, because you had already gotten blown out.

I got way worse on Friday night. I approached a 3 set with HB4 birthday girl, HB4 and HB7 friend. Upon approach, HB4's shook with me and gave me names. I discussed their birthday plans and gave the young lady birthday wishes. Always give value. Now I gesture to HB7, "

At times I feel that the entire PUA community has an attitude where there's a Holy Grail of methods and systems that can turn any woman and any situation into some type of close (#, k, or f); just because the artist (hence the PUA denomination) wants so and intends so.
