Honestly, if you’re hot, nothing is creepy. And im not trying to phrase that in a creepy way. But if you were a stud and cold approached, all the girls walking by you and your interaction with a girl would stare envious.

If a fat, bald, short guy did it, everyone would be kinda mortified.

Just from her side of the story, the problem is that he “wanted to be friends”. He obviously wanted more than friends and by lying, it severely creeps the girl out. Never suggest to be friends. You need to establish a romantic interest, not platonic. Dont friendzone yourself lmao.

Also, his escalation and recalibration is bad too.

If you read between the lines there, it went perfectly well until he tried escalating beyond her level of comfort and didn't read her signs. That second part was always creepy, but if he just had a chill walk and invited her and both their friends out for a group hangout later or even on another day, there wouldn't have been a post about it.

Cold approaching women in places like grocery stores will almost always seem harassing or even slightly threatening to most women. It may work sometimes, for some men, but it isn't a good idea overall.

I think it depends on who you ask. In the real world (as in, not Twitter or mainstream subreddits), no. I think most people know that approaching a chick as a man is just an aspect of life. I mean, that’s like one of the main purposes of life, to reproduce lol. Ultimately, as long as you don’t break the rules of the game; not pushing a girl to go farther than she’s comfortable with, not too straightforward (obviously this varies from person to person), and follow the 2 golden rules of attractiveness, you’re good.

If he actually behaved that way, the guy was certainly a creep. This is not how you approach anyone male or female.

How ever there are two sides to every story in a sexual encounter: hers, his and the truth. She could be telling the truth as is, a strong possibility since reported it to the police because there was a second victim.

Now the DC area is uptight as f*ck. Behaviors accepted else where in the US would be "unacceptable behavior" in DC, especially when dealing with young white women from professional upper middle class backgrounds.

From what I've seen yes and most people think everyone is creepy or wants something from someone or blah blah and its fucking pathetic if im approached I think its a compliment if I approach someone from my experience most people find me scary and usually get nervous so if you wanna approach come off with good energy and be human

Is it seen as creepy by mainstream society? Partially, yes. Women (or most of them) and some men view it that way. Most men don't really care that much. It is mainly because the voice of women in such matter has garnered so much strength in the past few decades that you think most people see it that way. It really isn't that big of a deal.

In my opinion, it is not creepy. Come on people! Grow the fuck up!... It is definitely one of the least effective ways to get dates, though.
