I think by investment he's really talking about neediness.

Guys who are bring a high-investment into the outcome with a woman behave very needy. They're desperate for her attention and affection (probably because they operate in scarcity).

Guys who are low-investment into the outcome with a woman have the attractive energy of being already whole and content. They operate in abundance with plenty of options among women. So they may like and pursue women, but they don't come off like they *need* her in any way.

Low investment isn't a "mindset" or "belief". It comes from having options and genuinely not caring about the outcome. Spin more plates.

No, you're missing the point. You should care the most about your purpose in life. Once you find something you're deeply passionate about women will become secondary. Instead of endlessly obsessing over them, you will pursue them in a respectful non-needy way. You will offer them to join you on your journey in life and they get to decide whether they want to accompany you or not. Rejections become easier to face if you can obtain this mindset. You will naturally have low investment, and you will not care very much if someone doesn't want to come along for the ride.

Mark Manson's direct model is basically "hitting on girls" instead of "running game"... his concept is "if the girl is unresponsive, go find another one". In practice this means: "Hey, I thought you were fucking cute" (Manson recommends using the word "f*cking" in this book - he says "it doesn't matter what you say because you're a man, you can say whatever you want") and now if the girl is responsive - good! If not, as he said, "find another one".

Besides this silly method, he creates a balance by promoting a healthy life.

By the way, look carefully at the "texting game", he says that there is no need to use any "method/technique", but on the next page he explains the method he personally uses while texting. Now I'm confused, is it necessary to use a technique or not? He contradicts himself.

Don't put them on a pedestal (unless its to look up their skirt). Do you get "invested" talking to friends, family, random people. Treat women like you would a normal person.

Manson being contradictory and vague is very common criticism of his book. There's a lot of that in the self-help industry

Based on his videos I don't believe he has anything particularly interesting to say honestly
