I had a great conversation yesterday with a woman friend of mine in her 30s. Without real prompting, she began telling me all about the woman's side of modern dating. One thing that really stood out was the guy who was currently putting her on a pedestal, and how much she didn't like being on it. There's pressure for a woman there. She said it was like the man gave her his precious little egg, but she didn't want it and doesn't feel comfortable holding it, because what if she drops it? Putting someone on a pedestal can be holding them emotionally hostage, so don't do it. Just a reminder to treat women like friends, because if you try to treat them like Olympic Gold Medalists from the get-go, they're only going to want to be friends.
