While I personally wouldn't open with ethnicity, I definitely would've gotten to the point. You clearly lost her interest in that big paragraph. A "hey listen, I'm much better at distracting you in person. Let's meet up this weekend" would've sufficed.

You didn't need to spell out the whole, "clearly we find each other attractive" thing.

You just needed to transition from, "She likes being distracted by you," to "Let's go be distracted at X place, at Y time, doing Z thing."

You just needed a short but sweet, invitation out.

Other than that, you were fine. Just stop explaining it or justifying it and do it.

Maybe swap numbers first. Build up some rapport over a week or so, then ask to exchange numbers, text for a couple of days, then make plans. Also, she's busy with school, take her life into account.
