A couple months ago I met a girl who I instantly fell for. She was very attractive, seemed to have a good personality and all that jazz.

Well for several weeks I kept running into her and every time I would freeze up and not really talk to her. I had built up this illusion in my mind that she was the perfect girl, and that if she was my girlfriend everything would be right in the world.

Well I finally managed to have a conversation with her and asked her out on a date. I was surprised when she didn't hesitate to say yes. Needless to say I was pretty pumped that night, basically on cloud 9.

We went on the date a few nights ago and I realized that we really have nothing in common and that she wasn't who I thought she would be. I'm not trying to say that she was dull, or had a bad personality, just that we are completely different people.

I was kinda bummed out afterwords because I thought that she was "the one". The following day though I gave it more thought and realized that this whole experience was actually a great thing. If I had never asked her out I would have kept telling myself "You're missing out on something great. She's perfect" and I would have always held that deep regret. But now that I've been out with her and realize that she's not what I was expecting, I can move on.

I don't really know what the moral of this story is and I'm not sure why I'm even sharing it, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that you just gotta keep plugging along and eventually things will work out. Don't be bummed out by bad dates. Just look at them as a stepping stone.
