To me it seems very obvious. It starts with most of society just being generally unfriendly to men. Misandry is deeply integrated into the status quo and is heavily normalized. Men are offered less positive affirmation, less compliments, less attention, less support, less due-process/presumption of innocence, less opportunities, less protection from harm(ex. abuse/assault, fraud, discrimination, false allegations, etc) and less tolerance in general.

Men are also far more lonely, not because male friendships are inadequate(as feminists often like to claim to gaslight men) but simply because they have fewer sexual/romantic opportunities compared to women(which is entirely due to women being passive and hypergamic when it comes to men, and men's preferences being heavily vilified compared to women's). It's also very clear that many sexist gender roles around dating are still going strong, and that men are heavily punished for inexperience or lack of prior success(often associated with confidence) while women are not. This creates a self-perpetuating loop, and makes it harder and harder for men to catch up, which also ends up hurting men in every other aspect of their lives as well.

It's also a problem with how men, when faced with poverty, just do not have the same access to support or alternative means of income that a lot of women have access to. I can also see how male vilification, specifically with these ideas that all men are inherently abusers/predators, that their sexuality is inherently harmful/oppressive or that that it's acceptable to assume the worst of men, just because they are men, would all also heavily play into this issue.

There's just a great deal of male guilt and self-hatred being pushed onto men and boys, which starts at a very young age and leads to a great deal of male anger, suffering and depression(and possibly even plays into other issues, such as gender identity disorders from men who have internalized that misandry and seek acceptance by adopting a more accepted "identity").

And, obviously, divorce most certainly plays a huge role into all of this too, because it tends to be so destructive to men, both financially and emotionally. Not every man is going to get married or go through a divorce, but the men who see other men go through it and get absolutely destroyed by jaded women with far too much power can certainly have a negative effect as well. Same could be said of boys growing up to see men treated as being so disposable in other ways as well(ex. war, male reproductive rights, men expected put women first, etc).

Men are 8 times more likely to suicide than women after divorce. Women have no increase in suicide after divorce. The original reference that discovered this hypothesized that maybe men miss their children more than society thinks.

That is a big reason men commit suicide.

Our society benefits rich men. Men in the middle are often conflated with rich men, and very few people care about poor men. And rich men can also commit suicide. I'm not trying to be aggressive, but your argument that "if our society benefits men there wouldn't be suicide" doesn't work because most men don't benefit from society. They may be better off than many women, but that isn't the same as benefitting.

The real answer is life just doesn’t offer as much to men as it does to women. Men have to build or take what they get from life, it doesn’t show up just because they have tits like it does for women.

You’ll find a common theme of people committing suicide: they all feel worthless. That worthless feeling is intentionally and often maliciously applied to only men by society in order to browbeat them into doing productive work. This is something women by and large do not deal with, hence the stark difference in suicide numbers.

You often hear people say “but… but… women attempt more!” Trying to make a counter argument to this, but in reality that argument supports the original premise: women threaten their own lives more often as a threat to others, I.e. “treat me better or I’ll hurt my body, the thing you value”, whereas men actually die because they are trying to escape the pain and suffering inflicted upon them. I.e. “I don’t want to deal with this anymore and don’t see a way out besides just dying, off I go”

These are generalities and you’ll absolutely find exceptions where men are attempting for attention and women are dying for escape, but by and large this is a gendered difference, hence the difference in numbers. They have different motives.

and even when i think of men who kill themselves , usually they don't look like the ones who i have sad live (like no friends , no family , no money and etc...).

after almost a decade of generalised anxiety disorder, ptsd and on-and-off severe depression due to sexual abuse i seriously attempted to commit suicide six times last year. tried to seek help many times over the years; no one takes you seriously when you don't look like someone with issues. most days i want to scream.

I for one attempted it and failed. Am not so bad anymore with depression, am pretty bad with anxiety though, as in I feel like I cannot breather most of the time. Not fun, but you know what is also not fun? That we as men are not listened or supported. We fail getting women? Only our fault! We are broke and poor? Only our fault! Wife divorces us? Only our fault! We lost our kids to a corrupted justice system biased against men? Only our fault! Society doesn't benefit men at all and doesn't give two shits about men at all while men are always supported and loved unconditionally while men are loved only with conditions.

Men commit the most suicide because they have the least social support. This is because, started in the 1960s, all heterosexual masculinity was demonized. To the more hardcore feminists there is no such thing as positive masculinity, outside the LBGT community. In fact, a major documented suicide risk factor for men is relationship breakups, whether they be marriages or just unmarried monogamous relationships.

To that point, there are men out there who live the LBGT lifestyle specifically because it brings them greater social acceptance. There's even men who are "transmaxxing" now. This is when men go trans in order to glean the benefits of living the trans lifestyle, since the trans community is supported and financed by nearly all big business, big tech, and most western governments.

Sadly, those without an agenda who seek to help these men often get demonized, censored, and cancelled.

One of the biggest points of the Men's Rights subreddit is that the system does not benefit men. The suicides possibly can be from the societal system crushing down on the unfortunate men until suicide.

That reminds me of something that I read somewhere, it might not be exactly the subject, but I think it fits. Men are seen as having no inherent value by modern western society, women and children are valued simply by existing, while men are only measured by whatever they do or achieve. That’s why growing up is so hard for boys, (and I believe that that’s why they fall prey somewhat easily to modernity). They stop being valued for existing and now have to continuously prove their worth, if they don’t, they are nothing. And no one cares. That dread can sometimes lead to extreme outcomes I think

Risk factors for suicide include improperly treated mental and physical health issues, isolation, stigma against seeking help, alcohol and drug use, unstable housing, and a loss (financial, social, etc). These risk factors all affect men more than women.

Women enjoy a much higher level of social connectedness and a much lower stigma against seeking healthcare, mental healthcare, and help when experiencing a crisis. Men are more likely to be alcoholic. Men are more likely to be addicted to all kinds of drugs. The legal system makes a loss of a relationship (divorce, children) harder on men financially and socially. Current societal pressures and gender dynamics lead to men experiencing the sort of hopelessness that leads to suicide.

men, in every country, but more so in countries with more traditional values, are told to ‘just suck it up’. they’re treated as if they can’t ever ask for help, when everyone needs a little help. it’s sad to see them fall into this pit where it feels like the world is against them for having emotions they can’t help, sometimes it’s too much, and they take their own life. i’m all for promoting mens mental health, such an important underrated topic..

I’d say it’s because there are more expectations with men than women. If you’re a man then you have a lot of expectations associated with you. You need to be the one providing for the family, putting bread on the table, a roof over your family’s head, be responsible for sending your kids to school, stay calm even when provoked beyond the breaking point etc. But if you’re a woman, you’re not expected to make an income but if you do, it’s empowerment, you don’t to put a roof over your family or bread on the table, a man can do that etc. It’s kinda like men have a set of things they need to do, whereas for women those same things are optional for them to do. It becomes a huge burden for men to do everything and to be expected to do it without support or anything

I think it mostly comes down to a lack of empathy. There are men that need more empathy, caring and understanding to keep going than other men and they don't get it. When men have problems they know it's unlikely anyone is coming to help them.

In a society that doesn't care about one gender, and care about the other, when people speak about the ignored gender's issues, people ignore them and don't care, and when people speak about the cared gender's issue, people care and pay attention.

The simple fact that people are paying attention to feminism is proof that feminists are wrong about people not caring about women.

Now, the common answers as to why men commit suicide more are multiple :

"women attempt suicide more. Men just use more lethal methods". this in itself is false, or at the very least, flawed. suicide attempts are very hard to track down, and can have multiple causes, from a genuine desire to die to a "call for help", and so even if there were more "attempts", they aren't necessarily signs of a genuine desire to die. But there might not even be more attempts, as a completed suicide only happens once, while a single person might attempt several times (and be counted each time), and attempts are often counted along with simple self harm. The reality is, we really don't know how many people attempt to actually end their lives, one sex or another. We also don't know how many people attempt "as a call for help", but just that presupposes that people actually care about such calls, which might not be equivalent for each sex.
"men should just cry more. They are not allowed to express their emotions, and that's bad for them. That's why they kill themselves". First of all, that's a great way to blame the victim. but then, I would like to see it demonstrated that being more "emotionally open and expressive" would actually help men. Men aren't defective women. Men often have different ways to process emotions, and "just crying more" is not necessarily the solution. I remember hearing about a study where men and women surgeon were examined for suicide. people who were basically earning a lot, having a good education, information about mental health, etc. It turned out that men seemed to actually process better things like loss of a patient on the operating table and were less likely to end up killing themselves, despite their lesser propensity to "express their emotions". So, it's not clear that men should deal their emotion more like women. It could even be that women would benefit of dealing with their emotions more like men.

What is never considered is the following : Men might simply have more reason to end up suicidal. Men are more likely to loose a lot of their assets in a divorce. Men are more likely to loose their KIDS in a divorce. Men who loose their jobs are much more likely to find themselves divorced. Men who find themselves homeless are much less likely to get any kind of help. Men who are victims of domestic violence are often more likely to be punished than to be helped by the authorities. Men who are victims of sexual assault or rape by women will generally be told they should consider themselves lucky... Meanwhile, public messages are all over the place about how men are monster, dangerous, guilty for the alleged past oppression of women, men are toxic...

which raises the question : why would you expect men not to suicide much more than women ?

Any person is most apt to commit suicide when he or she feels like death is the best of the likely alternatives. Of course, there's a lot of emotional thinking involved in this decision.

Men are more likely to commit suicide, while women are more likely to attempt suicide. I suspect it's because, in general, men tend to absorb emotional abuse until they can't, while women express their reactions to emotional abuse.

If women chose more effective means they would be the gender to most attempt AND succeed in committing suicide. Not discrediting you or the need for men to have more mental health/emotional health opportunities than the have.

Men need a purpose, without it we feel useless, women have the kids and usually find a purpose through other means. Us guys need people to need us and some form of responsibility if we don't have it can leave your life feeling meaningless.

A lot of the time soceity is generally against the fact and especially females are against the fact that men are born at a higher value than females. this isn't a dig. its just a fact that men are normally described to be born at a higher level/value when it's supposed to be equal rights/opportunities. so men get discriminated for some stupid reason and sometimes even more when the average joe opens up about mental health. it's about the influence around men about whether they feel like they can open up or not. if they don't, it bottles up all inside to the point of insanity and eventually yeah...

Luckily the situation changed for me where I incrementally was able to climb out, but not everyone is so fortunate.

There will be a point that you can't carry the weight you burden! Yes, men participate in society more than women and there are many men who has better jobs or salary! But consider this: we have dominated low payment jobs too, most hard situational works are for men! And finally even in a world that women considered relationship to be equal for men and women although they have a famous phrase"her money is her money, but his money is our money!" Even you reach the high level of succession, you still have less value in the eyes of society!
