There is a lot of talk in TRP about the kinds of women men really like and generally, the term used to describe such a woman is “submissive” and occasionally, “deferential”. But the more I read the more I begin to feel that isn’t truly what TRP is after in a woman.

There’s this idealization of finding that one woman who, not only loves you, but will never, ever call you on your shit – even in the nicest way possible – or question you, who does everything in her power to please you in every way all the time. A woman who, in other words, views you as infallible and perfect and views herself as virtually undeserving of your attention, let alone affection or love.

When describing their “ideals” several men here have repeatedly stated that submissiveness – aside from youth and beauty – is one of the main things they’d require to consider a woman for LTR status. The word “adore” has been used often as well. As in, a woman who adores them. Adoration is often tied into submission. I’ve even seen a few state they desire or prefer a woman who is “clingy” – though often someone else will chime in listing the pitfalls of dating a truly clingy woman.

Yet –and I’m seriously not trying to throw around this tired phrase anymore than it already has been but – it really does come off as insecure. It smacks of men with fragile egos needing a steady stream of inflation to function; it reads like men who aren’t comfortable unless they feel their mates utterly revere them and treat them with a sense of awe and godlike worship. That, to me, is sick. It’s unhealthy and it’s sad.

I mean yes, everyone wants to be wanted and I’m sure there’s no doubt a good deal of “security” felt when with someone whom one feels ‘adores’ or ‘clings’ to them but at a certain point, it starts to come off as pathetic and unstable. For both parties.

I understand not wanting to LTR or even spend time with a quote "bossy" woman, a raging bitch or a nagging warpig who questions your every move an emasculates you constantly but there's a middle ground. And one that TRP men seem uncomfortable with. While I certainly see the appeal in a "submissive" woman, even most "submissive" women don't go as far some sort of idol worship of their mates and act completely blind to any and all faults.
