I have a bad habit of getting in the Over-functioning / Resentment cycle with my husband.

I feel like he can't/won't handle various things in life outside of his job (I work too), and so I just take things on and take things on.

In the beginning of the cycle, I don't mind if I have energy. Then, inevitably it just gets to the point that I am overwhelmed and move into the resentment stage. That goes on for a bit until I have a big tantrum. Then my husband promises to help more and he does for a while and I feel better. Then I start taking more on again...

I think I have trained him to do less because of this cycle. I don't know how to stop :(I am afraid that if I stop doing everything we'll revert to a lower standard of life than I want for myself and my family. This makes me really sad.

UPDATE: I am adding some more details

This year we decided to buy a new house because someone we know is selling, we need a larger house, and it's a good deal (no realtor fee). We were not planning on moving this year so it's a lot of work, but he agreed it is a good decision and he did participate in the decision to move.

Everything else has been on me. Getting the mortgage. Finding tenants for our existing house. Finding a lease agreement. Arranging movers. Doing our taxes this year. Researching insurance plans and doctors. Getting a passport for our daughter. Everything. All the time.

He doesn't even ask me how these things are going, I just do it all, and he just accepts me doing it all. It's really hard to respect him as a man and I am cracking under the pressure of it all.

I feel I enabled him up to now (married 8 years) not to have to be an adult. He doesn't even know how to order something on Amazon. He doesn't shop for himself in any capacity. All he knows how to do is his job. I handle all other aspects of adult life.
