Before I tell my story I just want to clarify that I am not posting this out of hate. I just feel very confused and even a little hurt for reasons I will explain below.

First of all I am a 19 yr old male attending a community college. When I first started college a year ago, I very quickly noticed something. . . odd about my college. See, one day when I was just minding my business walking to my next class I noticed a girl walking towards me in the hall. When she noticed me back, she very quickly turned her head away and kept walking, almost like she was pretending I didn't exist. Well, that was weird, I thought, but other than that I didn't think much of it. The next day however, the same exact thing happened. I would be walking down the hall, and a girl would notice me, then would quickly look in another direction or whip out their phones to avoid eye contact. And this would happen again. And again. And again. There was another time when I was walking to my calc class when I noticed a group of girls conversing in the hall. When they noticed that I was curiously looking at them they all collectivelty turned and glared at me. And there was another time when I was sitting in the Computer Science club room looking around to see what everyone else was doing when two girls sitting together angrily glared at me when they assumed I was staring at them, even though I wasnt, as I was just looking in their general direction to see what my friends were doing behind them.

Now, I am by no means a creep. At least, I don't think I am. Im average looking, but I take care of myself, I shower and brush my teeth, and put in effort into my appearence. I have decent social skills, and I have a few female friends from high school I still kit with. But most important of all, I don't act like a creep. When I look at people, I look at them as people. I dont stare at their cleavage or anything of that sort. (For those who are wondering.)

But anways, It was at this point that I could no longer just chalk it up to coincidence. There was definitely something else going on, something that I was unware of. Maybe they were having a bad day, maybe they hated me, maybe they thought I was just a disgusting, revolting creature, I just didn't know. So I decided to do some investigative journalism. Whenever I saw a girl walking towards or away from me, I would carefully (but discreetly) observe how they reacted to myself and others. I observed how other girls would interact with people in public places, both male and female. I even observed other males and how they interacted with others to make a comparison. And what I found was that 100% of the girls in my college did the look away thing, WITH NO EXEPTIONS. I couldn't believe it. White, black, asian, tall, short, attractive, unatractive, every single female did it. But what was more suprising was who they did this to. What I found was that every woman did the look away thing not only to me, but all and only men exclusively. When there was only a female walking towards the girl, she would just act natural and relaxed. But when she noticed that it was a man who was walking towards her, it was whip your head away really fast time. And thats not all. What I noticed is that there are several girls on campus that take this avoidance of men to an even higher level. They just avoided men entirely. They would go out of their way to NEVER look at a guy, they would only ever be friends with fellow females, and so on. And these are not socially akward people, mind you. They are perfectly capable of talking with people and are quite sociable with teachers and peers.

Just not with men.

There is one particular girl that comes to mind, and its a fellow club member of a club I was in. Now, I must admit that I had a slight crush on her, and I guess she realized this too, given the way that I look at her more than I do others. But only like a few seconds longer, I wasnt staring her down like a psychopath, just to clarify. Anyways, when she realized that I liked her she didn't really avoid me per se, but she was definitley more colder to me than others. I remember a time we were both hanging out with friends (we were in the same circle of friends) when I saw that she talked to the other guys just fine, but when she would talk to me she went out of her way to even look in my direction. When we were carpooling together and I looked back and accidentally made eye contact with her she forcibly looked out the window until I eventually looked back forward in my seat. A week later, we were both working on a project during a club meeting when I accidentally looked at her chest while she was watching. I didn't even mean to, and it was only for a second, but she got really mad, got up while very quickly packing up her things, and moved to another chair far from me. This really confused and hurt me, because now she thought I was a creep even though it was an accident. Now, I know this part doesn't really fit with the purpose of my post, but I couldn't shake a sneaking suspicion that her behavior was somehow linked to the stuff above.

tl:dr , 100% of the girls avoid talking to and making eye contact with the boys in my campus, and I am starting to feel hated as a man because of it.
