Every time I'm on Facebook I see posts like this. I'll read about two and a half sentences, remember that I can't stand most of these people, and wonder why I still have a Facebook. Then I furiously scroll past and read a stupid article about 12 reasons on why my best friends girlfriend is probably cheating on him.

Anyway, this was hard to read because of that. But, that last word made it all worth it.

Its fucking crazy to me how these people don't realize that "nice guys" are not upset that girls don't sleep with them. There fucking upset because they've been told one thing by society, be nice to women and they have realized the harsh reality, thats not what women respond positively too. I feel so fucking sorry for these dudes.

They get told one thing by girls and society, be a super nice guy! Gentlemen! Caring! Responsive! Maybe even a feminist! Then they see first hand that there methods do not work, and that women are not romantically interested in this.

Being a "nice guy" is the lowest common denominator of being a guy. A day you don't get rained on is nice. Driving without traffic is nice. Its a step above shitty, but is still neutral. To sleep with someone, you should think that person is fucking fantastic. fantastic>>>!> nice

This is one scenario usually an reframing of a man's frustration by making it seem he is owned something when in fact he is confused as to why he isn't succeeding.

You assume that a guy that is too nice doesn't get laid or girls, this is incorrect. If a nice guy is unlucky enough to get a girl to sleep with him you best believe he is getting used.

I seen guys that would drive 4 hours to pick up his girlfriend a glass of milk, than get yelled at and abused and made fun of, while cheating with a asshole that treats her like crap.

The nice guy ask , "Why is it that I do everything for my girlfriend and she sleeps with a asshole"

Than he gets the same old feminist mindset, "You aren't really nice if you expect something in return"

This is not the answer to the question , "Why am I not getting laid for being nice", you see he is asking why he is not succeeding , and why guys that are asshole are. He doesn't think he is owed nor expects anything and that his problem.

I not saying girls Owe us anything, but you would be a fool to not demand something in return and be willing to walk away if you aren't getting what you want.

So you see the problem is not that they think they are entitled , but they don't demand anything and think they have to keep trying to convince someone, when in fact if they would just walk away they would find a good.

Hi, I work for RSD and would like to give my personal input on this one.

The first thing I'd like to point out is: being nice to everyone, will, indeed, increase your chances at getting laid. What exactly happens when you're nice to everyone? Well, you're more social! You're also putting the social part of your brain to work, and this will re-wire the way you're thinking, your body language, and if the girl you're intrested in notices you're really social, that proves to her you're high-quality. You'd be surprised how many guys actually don't even look to other people if they don't find them attractive, even when they're in a conversation. Of course sometimes a girl you're not intrested in will get the wrong message and might start hitting on you (happened to me just last night, by the way). But that's ok! Because it certainly has happened to you. Who here has never been friendzoned some way or another?

Being exclusivly nice to hot girls will also re-wire your thoughts and body language to a needy state. This is why RSD and other dating companies preach that you shouldn't go out to get girls: you should go out to have a good time (with your actual friends, make new friends, meet new people, enjoy and self-amuse yourself).

However there's a little flaw in this guy's logic. If you're ALWAYS a nice guy, eventually someone (maybe a lot of people actually) will just perceive you as a betamale, if you're being beta-nice. What I mean by this is, for example, paying drinks for the girl before she's proven to be good company to you (and this doesn't happen in the first 15 minutes of a conversation, where most guys will offer to pay for a drink). Heck, I haven't paid any girl a drink in a long ass time. Last time I had this sort of interaction it was the other way around. I made a bet of 2 dollars with a girl that a friend of mine wasn't gonna kiss some guy in 3 minutes. She lost and said "can I buy you a drink instead?" with a flirty look.

Also, most of the good stuff happens when you're just having a good time, and the bad stuff usually happens when you're crossing some sort of line here and start hurting someone's feelings.

Anyways, when having a good time, some girls will just show up and be interested in you. Then you used the preselection and social proof from those girls to get more girls. Then all of a sudden they're swarming over you. Preselection is the most powerfull tool you can ever have to seduce a girl, nowadays at least.

Sometimes I find myself doing the opposite. I'm an asshole to attractive women, especially if I think they are trying to take advantage of me. People so misunderstand this subject. Nice guys are not "nice" as a strategy to getting what they want. They are nice...to everyone. The idea of having an strategy does not enter a nice guys mind. He is noce to girls he is not interested in as well as those that he is. Tough with the pretty girls, he does get hopes as anyone would. It's not the nice guy who is manipulative, it's the people and the girls that are often manipulative. They act like they are sincerely interested and only when they get what they want they show their true colors.

It's like telling a cook not to cook for his friends. A girl will act interested to get the food and then when she has eaten her fill does she show that she is really not interested in him for more than his food. A nice guy has to actually STOP being nice to everyone and judge people who are worthy of his kindness or not. He has to create strategies to NOT get used.

My personal takeaway from the whole nice guy thing. Being nice is fine assuming you don't have some ulterior motive. Which is rare. Its like buying someone a coffee with the expectation they'll invite you to a party. Be nice because you want to, not to get something from them. There are far far more effective ways to do that than being nice. I consider myself a pretty nice guy, but I'm certainly not going to go out of my way to help someone else at a personal loss. And I see a LOT of guys do that. My opinion is that you can trace it back to guys caring way too much about what other peoples opinions of them are. They do it to raise their image in their social circle. People also know when you're not genuine.

also, an unpopular opinion of mine is that being nice is overrated. We are a self interested species and people do what serves them. I'm occasionally nice to raise someone up because it makes me personally feel good. It's selfish help.

Ok I'm ranting. But I see nice guy articles daily. Nice guys complaining has gotten really old. =p
