“Orwellian” also refers to the requirement that people say things they know to be untrue, or that make no internal sense, or that contradict previous things that we were required to say. In 1984, Winston was forced to say “2+2=5” until he actually believed it. Compare this to “health at every size” or any number of libfem shibboleths.

Every sub that attracts a lot of women will eventually end up with a male mod, it’s a rule of Reddit.

Oh I can’t stand the single parents sub. There are a few loudmouth hero dads who take over every discussion and the mods are so desperate for male approval they don’t do a thing about it. Single moms should start their only woman-only sub but in the meantime, they’re welcome here anytime!!

Ugh, then you’ve got him hanging round your house whining that he can’t find a job. And if you break up and he ends up collecting public assistance, the government may make you pay it back. Nah, imported spouses aren’t worth it IMO. Def better than moving YOUR whole life for him though!

But that's the exact same reason males give for why they should be able to comment and "enlighten" us here in FDS. I don't have a problem with other subs banning me, or anyone else. That's their prerogative. Do I think they're missing out on great commentary by doing that? Sure. But it's their sub, if they only want a certain type of member and certain type of comments, that's fine.

"Misandrist" is a fave Reddit word. I also enjoy "Petty." Everything a woman wants, cares about, or doesn't like, is PETTY. "Unreasonable" is another one. Literally every advice post written by a woman starts or ends with: "Am I being petty/unreasonable/wrong/a b*tch/selfish/bitter/immature" I think there are more but you get the picture

We are extremely soft on violent crime here. Which of course disproportionately affects women and children. You can kill your whole family and be out on day parole in a few years. Life is literally cheap here.

I have a little bit of sympathy for the broken moms. They get a lot of lurkers and get mocked a lot on reddit. Also they *do* have a sub rule that you're not supposed to comment there if you're not a mom, yet they get a lot of non-moms showing up there to lecture them.

Aileen Wuornos's whole life was really heartbreaking. I don't think she deserves the "serial killer" title at all.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/05/21 08:06 PM

I do find that to be the most interesting aspect of true crime stories. How truly predictable and preventable most of these crimes were. Every one of these maniacs displayed red flags, strange behavior, abuse of their loved ones, disregard for the law and for other people. But they were just allowed to go on for years and years, no one doing anything about them or sharing information or following up on anything. Instead of True Crime we should call it True Incompetence.

They're your children, it's your family, it's entirely your decision how to do these things. No one here is forcing you to do anything or telling you what to name your children. If that post made you think a bit and brought up ideas that had never occurred to you before, especially if those ideas made you feel a little weird...that's a sign that you should think, reflect, maybe read up on these things a bit. It's always best to make an informed decision and understand where your own biases lie.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/05/21 06:40 PM
2

So, nowhere in your post or comments do you mention that you love children, that you want to be a parent, that you want to have a relationship with a child, that you want to give a child a good start in life and be a mother and a family for your whole life. You don't say the word "love" once. You talk about a child more as though it's a possession or a project. I suggest you reflect on what it is you really want in life and what you have to offer a child.

You reply with silence. Any man who'd say that to you, is not worth having a relationship with. When do you plan to dump your current boyfriend? Can you get him out by the end of this month or find a new apartment for yourself for June 1st? That should be your priority. Not worrying about some mythical future LVM.

Well you shouldn't live together unless you're married, at which point it's not really about "splitting bills" anymore. At that point it's your shared money* and you decide together how to manage your household finances and what to spend money on. \ *Of course you should always have your own separate bank account with your own money as well!

In a previous discussion here, someone brought up how this "legalizing" and "monitoring" would work. What standards would there be, who would write them, exactly how would they be enforced? Who gets to do the job of checking up on prostitutes, brothels, licensing requirements, standards of work, registration? You get a job in your country or state's civil service and suddenly your job description consists of dealing with this whole scummy subject? How is that not sexual harassment at work? The w…

Oh, tell me about it. I'd much rather read about supernatural encounters too, those are scary and fun but not gross and depressing like true crime. Why is it even called true crime, it should just be called True Men. When the perp is actually a woman, like killer teens or a killer mom or whatever, that is guaranteed to get disproportionate attention just because it's just so much rarer for a woman to commit murder. Absorbing too much true crime can lead to the mistaken idea that women are as vio…

Keeping it vague is great! Honestly I'd go ahead and never give her my new address, lol. Hang out with her away from home, not that she'll ever suggest that. If that leads to a cooling of this friendship, that's fine too. She doesn't sound like that much of a friend. If she has the nerve to ask or tell you that she'll be staying with you, you could just say: "Unfortunately that won't be possible." Don't apologize, don't give a reason. I have noticed that once a woman starts getting a bit old, men start getting annoyed to see her or be expected to interact with her. Even men who are her age or older! I think for most women this starts sometime in her mid-late 40s and is firmly entrenched by the time she's over 50.

I have found a few advice and support subs where I do believe it's mostly women commenting and responding. Mostly these are parenting subs, or subs devoted to certain interests or hobbies. Men still do pop up there and are fawned over ofc, but can mostly be ignored. The mainstream relationship and dating subs are 100% waste of time. And anything (other than FDS) that has "women," "feminists," "lesbians," or "Xchromosome" in the sub name is really poisonous because that's where you get the men pu…

Yeah I think a lot of divorced women don't bother changing their names back again. And why should they? That name is their name now, as much as it's their ex-husband's.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/05/21 05:42 PM
10

Yeah I definitely find that to be an irritating argument - that children will be "confused" if their last name is different form one or both parents' names, and that there will be some kind of discrimination from schools, medical offices etc. Different family formations are so common now, I've also never seen anyone in authority who got hung up on a child's last name.

I changed my name for similar reasons. My last name was ugly and my feelings about that branch of my family are ambivalent at best. No regrets, I love my husband's family and love being part of Clan Lastname. I think there are a lot of people out there who would like the chance to be free of the name of their dysfunctional family or abusive parent. Marital name changes are handy because they're free, you don't have to fill out a whole separate form and take it to the courthouse. For this reason,…

My post was more about the effect that the wide ranging use of that term, and the attitude behind this wide ranging use, has had on all women. In the OP I mentioned, we have a woman who is literally afraid to initiate a complimentary email to a school, for fear of how she’ll be viewed for speaking. When we have arrived at that point in society, it’s time for us to acknowledge that the term has crossed the line into abuse and harassment of women who aren’t doing anything wrong. Exactly. It's not even about the legalities, the security, whatever, those things vary from place to place. For me it's about the commitment. The emotions. What it says about the way he views you. Imagine agreeing to live with someone, who is out and out telling you that you are good enough that he'll take your money to help him buy a bigger house than he could otherwise afford. But you're not quite good enough to marry. What a slap in the face

I don't blame you. If one person had overheard you calling 911 and decided to film you on their phone and put it on the internet, that would have been it for you. Women have to be very careful about their demeanor in public. Let the crazy man tear up the street, we seem to have collectively decided that it's better to just let it happen rather than a woman show any concern about public order or safety. Take care of yourself first!

Just personally, I'm not super interested in trying to "reclaim" the b-word, the c-word or any other vulgar misogynist slur. I have no need to use those words or to call another woman by them, my vocabulary is plenty rich without them. And I will never, ever find it cute or friendly for anyone to call me those names. To answer this question, you can examine the outcomes in one of the growing number of states/provinces where "50/50" custody is becoming the default, so men ARE getting what they ostensibly want - shared or equal custody of their kids. And the biggest outcome anyone can see is that these heroic "single dads" waste no time in finding a new girlfriend or wife to offload their responsibilities onto. They rarely stay single. Second biggest outcome is that they don't actually take all that custody th…

Right? Not to mention, in many places an unmarried spouse can and will be awarded spousal support/alimony, if they can prove they lost earning power due to needing to care for the children. Not being married is not some get-out-of-jail-free card.

Absolutely, I already knew that any woman who dares to disagree, or correct, or add additional info, will likely get called a Karen. This post I mentioned just shook me so much, because that attitude is now leaking into interactions that are purely pleasant and positive! We're now at the point where speaking out to give PRAISE to others, is just as bad as criticizing or demanding, and will still get a woman called "that lady."

I'll be unpopular right along with you. I agree that any man who has a child with a woman he's not willing to marry, is low-value by definition. I don't say the same thing about the woman who gets pregnant by a man she's not married to as I would say 90% of the time, she does feel fully committed to him, she would like a lifetime commitment from him, she's pathetically hoping that a baby will make him step up etc. It's just a sad situation all around.

This is a great post. It’s so true that men have the reputation for being risk takers when in fact it’s women who do more interesting things.

“Makeup slaves” I love it and will be stealing that!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/04/21 04:08 PM

Haha I had not heard of this but I’m not surprised those are the FDS aspects that they have trouble with. Pickme’s love porn and they love moving in with boyfriends. Add in “offer to pay 50/50 on a coffee date” and we’ll have a bingo!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/04/21 04:07 PM

That’s really stupid. The Rules is an ok book that is some really pickme and tone deaf advice.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/04/21 04:04 PM

It is always okay to walk away from a first date for any reason. Obvious lying is an especially good reason.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/04/21 04:03 PM

It’s a red flag having so many forever girlfriends he never married, yes. It means he’s lazy, indecisive, and complacent and will do the same thing to you.

Block him on all platforms. Delete his number from your phone. Ideally try to make it so you won’t even know if he does try to get you back.

You should ask the FDS mods directly. Mod mail links are in the sidebar.

I think he’s being very responsible. Respecting Covid guidelines is a green flag in my book. Especially since his mom is immunocompromised. In this regard, he gets a pass for now. IMO.

You just described my city.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 11:53 PM
6

It is simply me trying to entertain myself at someone else's home. My time could spent better at my home. Exactly, it's so audacious when men think they're doing us some big favor by inviting us over so we can....watch them do something.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 10:58 PM
8

I'm not free labor nor do I do shit for men. This is the way! I'm very big on not cleaning any man's house or doing or chores for him.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 10:57 PM
7

But now it's during the daytime, and that seems even more LV to me for some reason. Cause their evenings are for video games, porn, and smoking weed then passing out in the nest
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 10:55 PM
13

haha pretty sure the idea is that "wfh together" quickly turns into "taking a half-hour break together." Then when "break" is over, guy looks at his watch and says well I gotta lot of work to do, you can see yourself out
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 10:53 PM
2

Whatever the reason, why aren’t you asking why the guy is willing to break the university’s honor code? (Because it’s an almost certainty that he’s also a BYU student) Or why the guy is willing to lie to her when he knows she’ll get in trouble? I think I made it pretty clear that I have utmost contempt for this guy. Oh and thanks for the info about sororities, I've never set foot in one personally, lol
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 10:46 PM

Horrible. I'm so sorry you went through that. Men in cars are very dangerous whether we know them or not.

Pickmeism is hazardous, it's true
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 09:54 PM

BYU = Brigham Young University, a very conservative Mormon college. Why attend this school or live in its dorms or sororities, if you don't intend to abide by its rules and values? Go enrol in the secular U of Utah, you can give out all the free blowjobs you want to any stranger at any hour of the day or night. Problem solved!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 09:53 PM
8

I mean it's probably some guy she barely knows, otherwise she'd call him her boyfriend. He doesn't care about her at all, why would he care if she "becomes homeless?" And she still chooses to blow him in his car. Her college and her sorority didn't force her to blow some guy in his car. Her anger is misplaced. Also even if she gets kicked out of her dorm and even out of college, why does that mean she's homeless? Does she not have a home with parents she could go home to? Or would her parents ki…
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 09:48 PM

The sorority rule is whatever. I'm so much more pained by the fact this was happening in a car
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 09:41 PM

Thanks for the correction! Shocking.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 09:37 PM

Dont date or talk to men with kinks. Right? How did this gross topic even come up, when you're just talking online and haven't even met? The bigger lesson to be drawn from this post is: don't "chat" forever with men and especially never "chat" about sex with men.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 09:36 PM

this is like one of those "heartwarming" stories about a kid having a lemonade stand to pay for his mom's chemo: the fact that we get sent a bill for health care is horrific evil bullshit. All women's health care should be covered 100% by the taxes we already pay. Exactly. In civilized countries, this story would make no sense because no one gets sent a 4-figure hospital bill after having a baby.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 08:16 PM
4

Most of the "whole damn world" has government-funded health care so neither parent needs to pay out of pocket for birth expenses. This Utah law is a uniquely American thing.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 08:14 PM

Agreed, this law has the potential to run roughshod over women's privacy and bodily autonomy.

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/04/21 08:12 PM

I hope they're not requiring those pre-natal paternity tests be performed. They're invasive and can be dangerous. Women should have the choice to decline such tests.

Yes you should be able to do that anywhere. It costs money ofc. Talk to a local real estate lawyer.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/04/21 05:36 PM

I have 100% seen that, and sadly even on this sub and its sister subs. One of the more interesting things about getting older for me has been spotting and deflecting younger people trying soooooo hard to get me to tell them my age.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/04/21 05:34 PM

I'm so glad the therapist running the session took control of it and kicked them out! Honestly they should go ahead and get rid of the remaining man as well. Women express themselves in groups much more freely when it's a male-free space.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/04/21 05:32 PM
1

Yep, LinkedIn does that. I guess their idea is, it's not a social media site, it's supposed to be for work and work networking only and why would you want to hide your networking efforts. I *think* you can pay for some kind of premium account that allows for anonymous looking at people's profiles. But probably it's best just to use LinkedIn for its stated purpose and not click on a profile if you don't want the person to see you.

You have your answer, sis.
/r/askFDS07/04/21 10:00 PM

Well, the way he handled this relationship and the breakup is certainly NOT what FDS recommends. Nowhere does FDS recommend stringing someone along, pretending to be "friends," enforcing a "temporary" breakup while still tormenting the other person, etc. What this man did to you is the opposite of a clean break or a setting of boundaries. Of course you're still hurting by this. You were used and gaslighted. He finally did the right thing by blocking you, but only after feeding his ego for a long…

Yeah I’m also not too big on the wine and painting date. I wouldn't care for that either! What on earth is wrong with dinner at a nice restaurant, is that not cool and artsy enough for this guy. "He's painting so he's too busy this week to meet" Oh please. Unless Mr. Michelangelo over there is working on a commissioned portrait of The Queen that's being unveiled in 2 days....he has time to go out on a date.

You've given him more than enough information about your expectations, maybe too much. You've drawn him a road map and he still doesn't seem interested in unfolding it. If he was "really excited to see you," he'd ask you out. I agree with your plan to give it this week and then stop talking to him if he doesn't ask for a date. That's assuming that it's only been a few days since you started talking. If this has already been going on for 2 weeks or more, then I'd block and delete right now.

I agree with you that "free prostitute" is an unkind term and doesn't even make sense. But that doesn't change the fact that casual sex is not good for women, not physically or emotionally. The men in your country sound terrible.

I enjoy cooking as well and when I was dating I had some nice conversations with men about cooking and food. I dated a fellow foodie for a while, we had some fun culinary experiences. I never, ever felt that I was being pushed to cook for a man unless it was for a good reason and I truly wanted to do it and I felt he would appreciate it. If someone had said something stupid like "Oh save some for me!" or "I'll be right over" , I'd have stopped talking to them. But I don't see the need to hide an…

Definitely, so sad that the only way to get men to listen is to make it all about them. Stuff like this book, or the "no fap" movement etc, will never solve the problem though because they don't get to the root of the problem. They do nothing to stop the widespread production of porn. They don't question the existence of porn, they take it as a given. Society needs to get radical about this.

I have seen differing opinions here on how to respond to a coffee date. Some say just forget it, block and delete, he doesn't get it and never will. Others have offered strategies to see if he might come to his senses with a gentle hint. I'm starting to lean more toward the first opinion. I think it's very telling that he never responded to you after you declined the coffee date.

Though there is a perk of being in the country side, it’s such a long drive that it would literally be insulting to ask ppl to meet up for coffee. omg can you imagine driving 30+ minutes to meet for coffee. Or standing on the side of the road waiting for a bus, to meet someone for coffee 🤡

The obsession with long hair is so weird. It's been the style for years now that all women no matter their lifestyle, must have long long hair to be considered attractive. When I was growing up, it was considered unprofessional to have such long hair and it was very possible to be considered attractive with different lengths. You'd see all kinds of hairstyles. It's all a lot more uniform now IMO.

I've read this book. I like their analysis of warning signs etc and their advice on how to stop using, but they miss what is to me one of the biggest objections to porn and that's what it does to the women who appear in it. These authors treat porn as something that's just out there, this vague huge threat like a natural disaster or an infectious disease, that must be guarded against. They have this long list of harms that porn does to the men who watch it and the women who are married to those …
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/21 05:20 PM
4

Yeah religious people get it right about porn being harmful to its consumers and to the public who may be exposed to it. They are still on a learning curve when it comes to concern or empathy for the women and children who appear in it.

You should block and delete. If they were interested in meeting you, they'd ask. Don't waste your time chatting for weeks. I'd say if they're not offering a date within 1 week that's more than enough time to see if they're serious. There are a lot of men who literally don't want more than just chatting. Sometimes they're married, sometimes just lazy.

Your last paragraph is so important. So many young show business people, writers and actors, nowadays come from very privileged backgrounds. It’s the same in America. Decisions that are NBD to someone with wealthy powerful parents, can be life-ruining for a working class young woman.

most of the time they're talking about traditional benefits being given to men who have done nothing to earn them I'd be a lot more interested in a post about what "boyfriend benefits" and "husband benefits" MEN should be giving US.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/03/21 04:47 PM
7

The whole conversation around "sex work" reminds me so much of the history of child labor reform. Many people were complacent about young children working in factories and mines and shit until the 1930s. The people who benefitted from child labor tried to legitimize it while the people who actually cared about children advocated for child labor to not exist at all. This is a perfect analogy.

Once in a while a new FDS member will express this idea, that men who are too hopeless to get a girlfriend should hire someone instead. Usually it's said in a joking or derogatory manner. I always try to report this when I see it because it's not what FDS promotes. There should be no "class" of women whose "job" it is to service men so us "normal" women don't have to. We are 100% opposed to prostitution here, for anyone for any reason. full stop.

This is wild! I'm shocked that so many subs joined in this action. I imagine for many mods, it's more about the censorship from Reddit, than from any actual concern about this person's morals. Most of Reddit is a-ok with child abuse and porn.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/03/21 04:15 PM

I would be ok with Newbies or Throwaway flairs being allowed to comment but not make new posts. Gives them time to read the Handbook and slow down and actually read the sub before jumping in to post their deathless screenshots and memes. Or any post made by a Newbie gets extra modding before it becomes visible on the sub. I realize that would all be still more work for our mods though.

I'm sorry but are you serious? A "licensed and trained" "sex surrogate?" Trained in what? Licensed by whom? Is it a different "license" depending on whether you "service" men vs women? This differs from a prostitute how exactly?

I think it's also important to note that you can take advice you like from this sub and leave what you don't prefer. Sure, BUT you also don't have to post a dissertation on which pieces of FDS you like and which you don't, and why. Nobody wants to hear it.

If you don't like talking negatively about small penises, don't talk negatively about small penises. Do not however come on this sub and try to argue with other women about their preferences. Keep your preference to yourself, go post on one of the tiny penis subs and comfort those sad dudes over there, go give a free bj to a small-penised man. Do what you want! Just leave us out of it.

Yeah I would say if you really seriously plan to keep a boyfriend at arms length for years....you might as well not bother dating. No one normal or HV will agree to a half-relationship for years. More realistic advice for a parent hoping to date, would be just use common sense in the people you date: vet like crazy, let things develop slowly, introduce them to your kids in a careful way at an appropriate time, don't let them move in, don't become financially dependent on them, don't put them in …

Asking if someone is “worthy” is very rude. Especially when it’s about something as trivial as a bunch of memes. Literally anyone is worthy of seeing memes, because memes are literally worthless. Another comment thread here made me think of this bit of dating wisdom that previous generations used to understand: It is NOT exclusive until and unless he specifically asks you to be exclusive. Until that happens, you should be dating other people and assume he’s doing the same. If he wants to have you all to himself and be your boyfriend, he needs to explicitly cOmMuNiCaTe that and make his case as to why that would be a good thing. Before meeting my husband, I was dating two men at once. Nei…

Depends what he means by partying. Does he mean just going out drinking and dancing? Or does it mean getting blackout drunk, using drugs, damaging property, crashing cars, harassing women, frequenting strip clubs, having casual sex etc?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/03/21 03:34 PM
43

Agree with these comments. It’s been 3 months, he should have made the next move by now. It’s great that you are already using boundaries such as no spending the night, no meeting his family etc. Continue doing that and start stepping back even more. Be less available. Live your own life. Make plans for weekends that don’t involve him. That includes dating other people.

think about the power dynamic wherein another person classifies you as mature. Why is he determining the maturity metric? This is a great point! What would be his reaction if a 10-years-younger woman told him he seemed mature for his age? It's a dumb and condescending comment to make to any adult. It's a shit test, to see if the OP would bask in this "compliment."
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/03/21 04:05 PM

I just want to know why he isn't looking for a woman closer to his age? He's already told the OP why: because women his age are too marriage- and family-focused. IOW a woman in her 30s might actually HORRORS expect him to settle down, be monogamous, and have a real relationship or even the dreaded wedding and children!!! Unlike the 25-year-old OP who's up for texting all day/night and "spontaneous" free outdoor dates.

Any prenup that called for this insane arrangement, would not hold up in the event of divorce. Any judge would throw it out. For one thing, it's not in the best interest of the child. Parents are required to support their children, you can't pre-nup that away. She'd 100% do better to divorce him.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/03/21 05:30 PM
45

Of course she should go to the charity, what else is she supposed to do? I hope someone there will talk to her and find out her situation, and encourage her to get out. She'd do better as a single mom receiving child support and government benefits until she's ready to get back to work.

Haha, this is true. No one wants to marry a housewife, most people looking to get married a second time are a bit older so they’re looking for someone who has earning power so you can have a nice life and retire together. IME.

Ugh, such an infuriating thing to hear, so disrespectful! They never realize that THEY are the ones with baggage, THEY are the ones whose children make them a PITA to date. They should be continually apologizing to their child free girlfriend for making her deal with their kid and ex-wife nonsense. I have a daughter who was 18 or 19 when I started dating so at least no one could pull the parent card on me. Plus I had the context for what responsible parenting actually looked like, vs the appeara…

Great post! I’m in your age bracket and have dated many single dads. They bring their children up when it suits them, to make themselves sound more heroic, and when the kids serve as a handy excuse for why he’s such a shitty boyfriend: “I can’t make solid plans with you this weekend, I can’t make you any promises because I might be getting MY KIDS” blah blah blah. BUT if I were to bring up his precious kids to make a point such as in your OP, yeah I could see some of these guys going off HDU BRI…

And the number of men these days who can really afford that? To finance their nonworking wife's retirement account and savings account? Is very small. Most families I know with a SAHM, are barely making it, don't have a lot of extra money, and are only doing it this way because they feel they can't afford daycare so it's short-term cheaper for the wife to stay home for a few years. They certainly are not building up any savings out of the husband's earnings. In fact, many women who spend years a…

Well, FDS advises don't get too sloshed on a date, so unless you have a high tolerance, don't drink alcohol on an empty stomach. Also a pub/bar is a bit low-effort for a first date. For subsequent dates, sure, by all means go on casual dates if you enjoy them. He should still pay.

I used to watch this documentary called Bewitched, it was all about this suburban housewife who constantly saved her doofus husband's advertising career by her deft hostessing and witchcraft skills when he'd invite his idiot boss over for dinner with no notice. Same, this is what I've found. Men are not completely unaware of the convention that the person who did the inviting, pays. Or that men are expected to pay. Please don’t give your number out to someone you’ve never met, that’s not safe. Maybe a google voice number, but honestly there’s nothing wrong with keeping your chat on the app. What you should be wondering is why hasn’t he asked you out on a date yet? I mean, if you attempt to make money via the lowest rung of the porn ladder, you can hardly expect anyone to respect the intellectual property of your “content.” I would say men who view nudes for “free” are no worse and no better than men who subscribe. Both types of men are equally unredeemable. IMO

If the kids are hungry then both parents should go get a job. At the very least, the dad should be hustling his genitals on OF at the same rate as the mom. Anyway this was not a poor family. The kids were in private school, that right there tells you they have disposable income

So rude to invite someone out for only the second half of a date. Not exactly the same, but I used to be kind of work friends with a guy. He would ask me to meet him for coffee.... at lunch time! I wasn’t a close enough friend, or useful enough to his career, to eat a meal with. He literally would go have lunch with the male middle managers then want coffee with me afterwards. No thanks honey, I decline to be on anyone’s B-list 💁‍♀️

The younger brother of two of her best girlfriends. He was not a bad person, but awkward and not too attractive. He was the heir to a nice estate, Jane and her mother and sister would have all been comfortably set. She accepted his proposal, then late in the night she thought better of it and had to quickly flee the friends' house where she was staying, in embarassment, lol. He recovered from the shock and married someone else. I seem to remember Jane might have received another proposal at some…

My favorite part of that post was how that OP apparently expected not just her current boyfriend, but FORMER boyfriends, to continue sending her gifts and paying her bills. Someone asked her - How is that HV to waste your money on an ex that way, how can any woman in future ever want to date a man who's doing that? And she answered that they just weren't yet there on their journey or something, LMAO

Over time there will be a clear distinction of men who stay single and choose being pornsick, and men who shed themselves of that toxic behaviour and choose real meaningful interactions. That will be an interesting society! A whole subsection of men choosing porn and blow-up dolls over relationships. And everyone knows that about them. Another good idea for an "In a world...." movie trailer.

Right? I know that therapists tell us to always use these "I feel" statements when cOmMuNiCaTiNg with people esp. men, to soften our message and increase our chances of being listened to and not dismissed for aTtAcKiNg them. And maybe that's a technique that does have its place sometimes. But we don't have to use those weasel words to ourselves, in our own personal thoughts!

Instead of "I felt unsafe", it's "I was unsafe." I love this! Our "feelings" get invalidated way too much. If you feel something, it's very likely to be true at least somewhat. Instead of "I felt like it was unfair," it should be: "It was unfair." Instead of "I felt a lack of passion," it should be: "There was a lack of passion."

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/02/21 05:08 PM

I would say we on this sub are huge sex worker advocates. We advocate for "sex workers" to be given options other than "sex work" rather than being abandoned to "sex work" for life. We're such advocates for "sex workers," we actually think of them as "prostituted women and girls." i.e. we think of them as human beings not "workers."
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/02/21 05:02 PM

So much handwringing about the importance of keeping as many prostitution channels open as possible, how we must enable prostituted women to be listed on as many media platforms as possible. Why not use that energy to help women exit prostitution?

Exactly, I understand the argument that being shamed for life, isolated, unemployable, on the registry, an outcast, can lead to someone reoffending. For sexual crimes though, I submit they would have reoffended anyway, because those proclivities don't change. Also, this argument against offender registries is actually an argument against releasing them at all. They'll never not be dangerous so why are we even having this conversation? You've been lackadaisically "dating" for four years, no sign of a proposal, no real commitment. This relationship is going nowhere. Don't worry about whether or not your girlfriend is HVW (although having no job or fulltime college at age 24 is a LV trait, you're right to be concerned btw). If after 4 years, you don't see yourself with her for life, you feel no desire to marry her....you should just end it now. Sounds as though she's in a rut. Maybe no longer having you to pine after and wait on…

he got into the idea of polyamory thinking it would lead to more sex but he didn't consider the bigger picture and how it is likely to lead to less sex over the course of his lifetime because he has so severely limited his own partner options. This is a GREAT point. A "poly" person is not going to attract any HV partners.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/02/21 05:05 PM

I find many psychologists unbearable and obnoxious in their preachy open-mindedness where anything goes as long as you weren't blatantly coerced, everything is healthy exploration on the journey to self-discovery. Give me a break! And when anyone asks them how the "go with the flow" lifestyle is working out for THEM....it turns out 99.999% of the time, that they themselves are in a long-term committed monogamous relationship/marriage, with kids etc. They don't practice what they preach!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/02/21 04:50 PM

Makes you wonder if that site or group ever really was meant to be women-only. I wonder if some or all of the mods are male, and this was the plan all along
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/02/21 06:46 PM
26

Yes, that's so misleading. Leading women to think they're in a safe all-female space to discuss intimate topics, then it turns out their information is basically being sold to men as wank material. I hope the readership found out about this and took action on those awful mods. It's so hard to trust large internet groups.

Oh you mean the woman in blue blew the whistle? Good for her although I'm sure she got banned for it. I hope they lost every woman member after that, and their "breastfeeding support" group became nothing but a group of pornsick males. What fun that would be to moderate!

The specific examples you’ve given, I wouldn’t mind at all, as trades positions, especially something like welding, are highly skilled and in demand. I agree with you that a degree in poli sci or something doesn’t qualify a person for anything, unless they have family contacts to get a cushy job somewhere. However I don’t judge anyone for taking such a degree, I assume they did it because they had a passion for the subject.

Bobby and Athena in "911." She was hesitant to date again after her former husband came out as gay (and continued to have full access to her home, which I disagreed with but which divorced people always do on TV) and Bobby was very patient and respectful with her but also set his boundaries. At one point she didn't want to go out in public with him and he kindly but firmly explained that he was proud of her as his girlfriend and couldn't be with someone who wanted to hide him. Definitely don't string him along. I think this is an overlooked green flag. HVM will find pickmes as ridiculous as we do Thank you. It's really so simple. It's part of what makes someone HV, is that they recognize LV behavior when they see it. I get so confused when women here are confused on this point.

You know who DOES use men for free meals? Teenagers. Also broke college girls. This wasn't my experience as a teenager or college student, but if girls really are purposely doing this, they should stop. It's LV behavior and possibly even dangerous. First of all, teenagers shouldn't be dating grown men at all, they should be going out with boys their own age, if they must date at all. Good luck ever being able to retire yourself.

PickMe's aren't magical, they don't cast a spell on otherwise HVM and force the HVM to date them. She can pursue whoever she wants, it's their choice whether to take her up on it. And any man who doesn't see through her nonsense, is LVM by definition and therefore no lost opportunities for us. I literally can't imagine any HV person being captivated by this profile. My husband would laugh himself silly just at the "old soul" part.

Also, what does it matter? Why do we care whether this guy might have a diagnosis or what it might be? His words and behavior speak for themselves. We don't need to identify or label his disease, to know that he's a LV creep whom no one should date. You approach dating exactly like any other woman, whether you earn $15.00 an hour or $1,500,000 a year. Your value has nothing to do with your income. Decide what you're looking for in a relationship, be discerning about who to spend time with. Never feel inferior to any man. Don't apologize for your job or where you live. If you date a man who makes more than you do, let him treat. Don't try to reciprocate in kind. He'll either choose to share what he has with you, or he won't. And if he won't,…

In my province it's not officially called a cooling off period, but there's the common requirement that a divorce can't be finalized until you've been separated for one year. There might be some exceptions in extreme circumstances, I'm not sure. You can get the paperwork all ready and even bring it to the courthouse to file it early, but the magistrates won't take action until that one year has passed. Once you can finally file it and if none of the paperwork gets rejected, you then have your fi…

But he has no time or room (literally, no space in his house) for a “companion.” He says so himself. And he’s not willing to change anything. Yet he still feels entitled to a girlfriend. Many of the women here have been that girlfriend who gets put in a distant position behind children and ex-spouse. It’s not right to do that to a person. Someone who can’t be a real partner to someone, shouldn’t be dating. This goes for women too btw, including single moms.

There's always someone who just has to make a big deal out of cleaning. It can really disrupt other people's good time and ruin the vibe of a get together, even ending things prematurely. When I'm the hostess, I don't want my guests tripping over each other in the kitchen loading my dishwasher for me! …

This is my philosophy too! I don't go to someone's house as an invited guest, expecting to do dishes for an hour. Nor do I expect it of my guests. And there absolutely is a culture of competitive and performative cleaning, it's pretty sad.

This is very true! I've generally found that a woman can argue circles around a man and is WAY better at seeing patterns, speaking the truth and getting him where he lives. This of course gets us "in trouble."

You have to define yourself, we don't know you. Reading the handbook is a start. Read more on the main FDS sub and you'll get more of an idea of how to stay away from pickme behavior and how to level up. I'm trying to think of a quick way to distill what it is to be HVW. Maybe one question to ask yourself: Are you living for yourself, or for men?

What do you mean by "aftercare?" Isn't that some gross term the BDSM-ers came up with? If you mean that after sex you want to be held and feel cherished, there's nothing wrong with that, it's not an unusual or unreasonable need. It's what any normal person would want to do after sex! If your trauma was such that you still feel "overwhelmed" by sex, to the point where it upsets you and you don't enjoy it....then honestly you shouldn't try to have sex. Sex is not a requirement! Yes as long as she’s careful she can come out of this okay. Honestly, it’s good that he showed his true colors before she wasted more years with him and especially before growing old with him. You are 100% correct. Not only is it grammatically incorrect to refer to people as "males" or "females" (male and female are adjectives in English, therefore they should only be used to modify a noun, e.g. when saying a male nurse or a female doctor), it also has a disrespectful connotation to refer to people that way. It's getting more and more common especially online and especially among younger people but it's still rude and sounds kind of uneducated. I never, ever say "female" in this manne…

Intuition is framed and degraded as a hippy-dippy superstitious thing, when it is -I believe- our brain trying to protect us. That's exactly what intuition or "gut feelings" are. Going 3 months without talking to strange men online. Finding a positive interest or hobby, that’s unrelated to men or the Internet. Volunteering someplace. Doing well at your job. Starting a savings account. Reading the FDS handbook.

I agree with you. I certainly wouldn't give consent for any Tinder-like platform to access or store my personal information. No sane person would. "Background checks" run by a less-than-trustworthy company do not take the place of common sense about meeting and talking to strangers, and using the tools we already have available such as google, reverse image etc. Women need to protect themselves, not trust Tinder of all things to do it for them.

Yeah alimony is not that common anymore in my country, because most women work during marriage. If they do take time off to stay home with kids, they usually get EI maternity benefits for the first year, and most women don't leave the job market for more than a very few years. It's just not possible to support a family on 1 income. So spousal support after separation is becoming less and less of a thing. So there’s still been no video call with this guy? Block and delete, no more chances. And yes, I agree with you that if he doesn’t make firm plans to move beyond texting, I’d say within a week, then he is not interested and you should block and delete.

Hire someone to come take down the tv, tell your ex his tv will be out in front of the building on x day for him to pick up. And change the locks, or ask your landlord to. You may now block and delete!

a man of value wouldn’t stay for long in a situation where he doesn’t have equity so this should be temporary. Exactly. Anyone of HV would want a living situation where neither is a tenant of the other.

Again, there is no just "moving into her house." He should already have proposed marriage to her, set a wedding date, AND come to her with a financial plan for how marrying him and letting him move into her house, will benefit her and how he plans to contribute. Your suggestions for having him put his monthly savings towards a future house deposit or something, that could work. That's something for each individual couple to discuss for themselves, I would say it depends on what their plans are a…

That’s probably the best advice! We have started talking about where we might like to move to. We live in the highest real estate prices in the country though so buying a new place is rather fraught, lol

Yes, this is the situation I’m in. And I’m fine with it. If I weren’t, I wouldn’t have let him move in. I didn’t see the need for a prenup as the divorce laws are already perfectly clear and reasonably fair here. As you mention, prenups aren’t always enforceable anyway.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/01/21 03:44 PM

Exactly. No one with sense wants to pay someone else’s mortgage. This might also be a good time to mention that we’re speaking here of spouses. People who’ve made the commitment to marry each other. Moving in with a boyfriend is not FDS. Before living together there should already be a lifetime commitment.

My husband lives in the home I owned before we met. He pays several of the monthly bills, plus he’s done lots of renovating which has increased the home value and our quality of life. Also he earns more than I do and is saving hard for retirement which will benefit both of us, of course I have my own retirement savings as well. If we were to divorce, I believe he’d be entitled to half the increased value of the home and I don’t have a problem with that, it seems fair enough to me. A man should o…

I mean those are the people you see for a huge chunk of your waking hours. You’re dressed up and well groomed, you’re lively and “on,” you see someone be good at their job which is sexy to see. This is exactly how the “Nordic Model” worked out in my city. Pimps started calling themselves sex workers. The police were happy enough to not have to do any work vis a vis prostitution. Now nobody gets arrested! Very enlightened!

Normally np links are used to prevent brigading but according to reddit admins they actually do very little to prevent brigading. Interesting! That's always been the last refuge and justification of snarky subs - that they always use an NP link, so the OP of the post and the mods of the other sub, don't get a ping that they've been linked to, therefore the snarkers are not actually brigading or harassing the OP or the other sub. Or so runs the argument. But of course it's true that an NP link do…

Happy about this! Thank you mods, so much. Yes it's fun to gossip about other subs, and god knows they do it enough to us. There are even whole subs dedicated to snarking on other subs. But we know that we're held to a much higher standard than other subs, and that other Reddit members, such as men, get away with a lot more than we're allowed to. I hope everyone here reads and follows this new rule!

When two of my old teachers married, she hyphenated her last name and the two kids they had have the hyphenated last name, which I thought was interesting. Did her husband hyphenate his name?

What’s a HVF? We are women here, not “females.” Regarding this man you slept with: you don’t give many details but you don’t sound very excited about him. If he doesn’t make you feel amazing, he’s not worth your time. Block and delete. And read the FDS handbook before dating again.
/r/askFDS24/01/21 06:53 PM

Agreed. They’d do better to rent somewhere by themselves, not buy a house with some guy. The only problem is, a lot of landlords are so bad, rental housing can be very insecure.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/01/21 06:44 PM
16

Nope, that’s a common misconception, that living together somehow protects you from a bad marriage. It does the opposite.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/01/21 05:04 PM
11

My mind was blown when I first learned that many, many women earned and saved their OWN dowries. Working women often brought to their marriage a small nest egg not to mention a hope chest full of dishes, sheets, pillows, cooking pots, everything the married couple would need for their lives.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/01/21 05:02 PM
37

You’re right. I married my LVM and it didn’t help make him any better of a provider. I was just speaking in general terms, I guess
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/01/21 04:57 PM
54

Oh and I also noticed how he doesn’t care enough to talk to this woman he supposedly cares about, ask her if she’s happy, offer to help her leave with no strings attached.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/01/21 04:48 PM
89

Ding ding ding! If he wasn’t interested in this woman sexually, he wouldn’t give a flying F how her boyfriend treated her. Men are mostly blind to women’s troubles unless the woman is young and hot. This guy’s empathy is limited to this one woman he knows. He’ll never, ever extrapolate from this, the way we do at FDS, to do an analysis of the big picture and how this is so many women’s reality.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/01/21 04:47 PM
71

It’s so sad, because being lower or working class shouldn’t mean you can’t get married, be a real unit, face the world as a team and pool your resources for real. Ironically, it would probably help some of these women get further away from looming poverty. But pernicious libfem ideals have had the worst consequences on the most vulnerable populations.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/01/21 04:40 PM

Didn’t know there were so many BC women here! Yes this province has a terrible problem with poverty, homelessness, prostitution. Many women can’t even dream of having a home of their own, without relying on a man.

I can’t remember the last time any piece of real estate in my province was that cheap.

It doesn’t surprise me at all. A man being supported by his partner feels emasculated, bored, useless, angry, envious, resentful, etc. He takes it out on her.

Keep holding him accountable.
/r/askFDS23/01/21 03:43 PM

Definitely, men who make this “offer” to women are lying about the mortgage amount and her “share” of it, more often than not. Imagine his reaction if the OP had demanded to view his mortgage paperwork and other bills, to verify what she was paying for.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/01/21 03:16 PM

Once you’d moved in, he would have used all his persuasive powers to make your temporary stay permanent. Men get addicted to a woman’s money paying their bills for them.

Instead of chanting that every woman is beautiful, we really need to fight the idea that female beauty equals value. That's a male idea, and we really need to stop evaluating ourselves according to male-imposed standards. Not every woman is beautiful, and that's COMPLETELY FUCKING OK, because beauty has nothing to do with value. Every woman has value. THIS is the real message. Thank you!!

This is my team too. I've lived with an addict and when I think of Amy Winehouse, I don't think of her music or her unique look or her talent or anything. My very first initial association when I hear her name is just her drug and alcohol addictions. It's not tragic and it's not romantic.

I'm not reading the original post as I hate all reddit "relationiship" subs. But if this woman is not good enough for this guy to commit to then he should go ahead and break up with her. Not keep stringing her along for sex. Propose or GTFO

he also appears to be calm and collected but he’s in fact passive-aggressive YES! This was also true for Coltee, he was a real instigator. I don't know how well it went for Nicole, but his subsequent wife Katie Holmes had to plan things out carefully with her family in order to escape him and keep custody of her daughter. Like, a secret cell phone that her family smuggled to her, a flight that her dad booked for her, etc. She had no privacy in the marriage at all, she was never alone, she had a scientology handler assigned to shadow her. Pure insanity
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/01/21 11:02 PM

He promises to make you a "star." He did it with Nicole, and later with Katie Holmes. Marriage within that cult sounds like a nightmare, and getting away from it is difficult.

Exactly, we should take care of our health and hygiene. Things like getting enough sleep, drinking water, eating right, exercising, wearing clean clothes that fit, regular haircuts, not stressing our lives with LVM....will all help us look good too! I would also say that a mentally healthy person does take pride in her appearance to some degree, I mean wearing sweats everyday makes me feel sloppy personally. It's what makes you feel good about yourself!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/01/21 10:58 PM

The saddest story for me was a woman in her 40s starting an admin temp job that was more suitable for a recent college grad. I hope she managed to catch up to some degree and is doing okay now.

I agree with not prosecuting the sex workers. They need help, not jail time. But that doesn't mean prosecutors and police should just throw up their hands and do nothing! They should still be prosecuting the pimps and the customers. Prostitution is not a victimless crime, it makes a whole community unsafe, it leads to other illegal acts. A woman once pointed out here that sometimes, it could actually be a blessing in disguise for the prostitute to get arrested too, not because she's a dangerous …

I don't think you need to do anything differently regarding vetting men you date. Where I am, prostitution is practically legal as well - the local cops have interpreted the "Nordic Model" as meaning NOBODY gets arrested, including pimps and johns. But it's still only the lowest of the low who would ever hire a prostitute. LVM will use prostitutes whether it's legal or not. HVM will not do anything so LV whether it's legal or not. I have witnessed the fawning over the youngest man in the office. Pretty gross. We older women would do better to strive to treat all our coworkers with the same level of professional respect, and not try to “mother” unrelated adults. Of course it doesn’t help that the oldest woman at the office will often get cast in the “office mom” role by others.

Well, I would say you're an easy target because you haven't blocked him yet and because you haven't told your family what's going on, and he knows this. OP, you have posted many times, here and on AskFDS, about your situation. From what I gather: you're a divorced mom, your ex and his mistress/current wife both abused you. Your family is unhelpful and abusive. You sound quite isolated and overwhelmed. I'm so sorry that things have been so difficult for you, it's really unfair. It's especially un…

If he's an ex, you shouldn't be talking to him anymore. Block and delete. Don't waste time trying to figure out the "why." He doesn't sound very nice and when he claims he said something but you didn't hear it - that's gaslighting. Forget this guy and read the FDS Handbook.

Nothing but truth. Very few men have "receiving gifts" as their love language. They won't care, they won't be impressed, they won't pick you. They'll take the gift, they may or may not use it. On posts like these I always repeat my advice to women: Please please please sisters, take that generous energy and love, and give it to someone who needs it! Don't buy some ungrateful male a gift. Buy a woman in your life a gift. Or donate to a worthwhile charity. Help a child. Help an old person. Help an…

All I can think of is, turn him down with little or no response if he offers a non-invitation like "I'm free if you wanted to hang." Say that doesn't work for you, or say nothing - leave it on read. Or use a cute emoji or something, that will get across the "cheeky, flirtacious" mood you wnat to project. He'll either get it and step up and ask you out on a real date, or he won't. Sadly I think the latter is much more likely. You've taught him that you are ok with offering on-call sex and it's ha…

Exactly. If you have so little empathy that you literally didn't understand how something felt until it happened to you...you should be ashamed to admit that! Not post proudly about it for upvotes and praise.

Those pickmes would die if they didn't have a man to fawn over. Imagine if they actually made their sub be women-only, like FDS. They'd have no one to talk to!!!

Ugh, I have a special hate for men like this. Being cancelled on is one of my triggers, I experienced this in a previous situationship. Turns out he wasn't fully separated from his common-law wife. I bet something similar is going on here.

Same, I'd happily live in a woman-only building or co-op of some kind, in my community. I have 0 interest in a) living off the land or b) living in a commune where everything is held in common and all decisions are made communally etc.

I don't see how this is a conservative sub.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/01/21 09:20 PM

haha considering both those AskWomen subs are male-run and male-dominated, I don't see much comparison with FDS. Totally agree that a woman's considerations change as we get older. But I think this is an active enough sub that there's lots of room here for posts of interest to different ages, and all ages.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/01/21 07:40 PM

You're not in a liberal feminist sub now. I suggest you read the FDS Handbook and some current discussion posts and get an idea of what we're about, before trying to impose rules about what we're allowed to say here.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/01/21 07:38 PM
27

I don't want to split up the sub and I'm sure the mods wouldn't either. But I'd be interested in heavier use of the Social Group Strategy flair, and more posts aimed at "older" women.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/01/21 07:31 PM
51

Right? It's embarrassing. Not to mention, highly subjective. Personally I'm not that interested in what anyone here looks like. I assume we're a cross-section of women, different ages, different sizes, etc. No more and no less attractive than any other group of women.

I couldn't agree more! Our value is NOT defined by our looks! A photo-shopped pic of some celebrity in her 40s or 50s, is not proof of anything and has nothing to do with our message or with FDS or with being HV or with feminism. I freely admit I don't have the body or the face that I had when I was 23. So what! I still deserve a good life, to be happy and respected and safe. Maybe this kind of post belongs more in Female Level Up Strategy, they have lots of skincare and fitness posts there. I w…

“Young women have never wanted to learn from old women,” Ms. Adams said. “We are invisible to them. They’ve always been told that old women are worthless.” Sad but true. The older I get the more true I realize this is.

(and it is a relationship. Society gaslights us into believing it’s not. It‘s not a one time transaction between complete strangers.) Thank you for saying this! I've gotten so much pushback from women when I refer to "your ex" or "that guy you were seeing." They're so quick to deny and minimize - "OH NO WE WERE JUST FWB's, THERE WAS NO RELATIONSHIP OR EXPECTATIONS, IT'S ALL MY FAULT FOR EXPECTING MORE FROM HIM" What bullshit! Yeah these were middle class jobs that the women I knew had. Anyway I agree there are creeps of all ages out there. Men in their 20s and 30s are no prize either.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/01/21 04:01 PM

Men in their 50s were babies and children during the 1970s, they weren’t the ones sexually harassing waitresses. Sorry, not trying to be Not All Men, but I was also around during the 70s and watched my mother, her friends, her sisters, all my teachers and neighbors, etc, all going off to work. Fran Liebowitz is great but she’s a comedian and performer, not a sociologist or historian. Her statement about waitresses should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

I hear that, about the pen pals. Unbelievable how many men are happy to sit at home night after night, just chatting away online, and call that a social life. This was pre-Covid btw. I learned it was necessary to set a clear boundary that I wouldn't chat forever and if a date offer didn't come within a week, I ghosted.

Well I don't understand what I'm supposed to answer in the poll part, but I'll share that I am very happily married to someone I met on a dating site. When used properly and keeping your standards high, I think dating sites and apps can be a great way to widen the pool of people to meet who are looking for a relationship. And the way the experience is structured, where you chat online a bit before meeting in person, is great for safety and keeping you from jumping into anything too quickly on th…

I mean... he’s not wrong. I wouldn’t date someone on OF either. Because zero self-respect is not attractive. He doesn’t need to be a jerk about it but he’s also allowed to have boundaries. Of course if he’s a porn consumer himself, he’s being very hypocritical here.

Agree that if the engagement breaks down, the ring is still the woman’s property. But we should strive to get ourselves to a point where we’re not dependent on men’s gifts to feed ourselves.

I like the part where he finally deigned to live with the mother of his children once she’d had a SON. A daughter was not a good enough reason.
