It's the same as anything else in society...women are criticized in the slightest bit by men and we're labelled woman-hater, basement-dweller, loser virgin, etc. then a woman cuts off a man's penis and pretty much gets a standing ovation.

I don't even think Beyonce's song is actually sexist... it's just kinda stupid.

In fact, it almost feels anti-woman to me... because what kind of person needs to brag so much about going to college, being employed, and earning a paycheck? Only a person who feels that those things are above their expectations. Almost sounds like Beyonce is saying girls usually can't do these things, but the ones who can should be proud.

Anyway, I think musicians should be free to write any kind of songs they want to. There are plenty of songs about cheating boyfriends and vindictive girlfriends, and people should be able to write songs like this without being accused of promoting sexist propaganda if the song becomes popular.

Why are so many MRA under the impression that feminism is mainstream? It isn't. There are TONS of shows, movies and songs that you could consider sexist about women, especially in rap. Feminism isn't mainstream, being politically correct is, and right now feminism is PC for whatever stupid reason. Some people sound crazy when they imply that men can never be sexist towards women in the media and get away with it. It happens constantly.

Feminism is a shitty movement because it's all about women, we should focus more on being egalitarian. By that I mean, we don't have to fight for women's rights, but we shouldn't pretend that our issues are way more important and frequent when sexism towards women is still very common.
