This is a good thing.

You see, a number of us here have come to the conclusion that any man wanting to be married is kinda crazy. Evidently the experts agree, and merely want to document what kind of crazy they are dealing with.

I'd like to think the test would be to the man's benefit with recommendations he go get a clue/spine/dignity/glasses. The test would be a learning experience in itself - sort of a marital eqivalent of the no-win Kobayashi Maru scenario that half of all men will find themselves stuck in.

In reality it would be another opportunity for wealth extraction, mislabeling and bad psychology. An opportunity to push overpriced seminars and shrill, patronizing lectures to men.

I find it a bit funny that so many measures are being taken to make sure men aren't violent. At the same time women are being given the message that it's ok to hit men and be violent ( you can see this from on most tv shows when female characters "playfully" punch male characters). Young boys are told from a very early age not to hit a girl...ever regardless of what she does.

Seems like an attempt to defang all men so they can never be violent against a women but at the same time telling girls to be violent against anyone that upsets them. A man is seen as manly for taking hits from a woman and not striking her back while a woman is seen in a positive light for fighting a man.

It would be wonderful if everyone could test another person's psychological traits, particularly their sense of empathy. This would help remove the problem of psychopaths of both genders abusing their spouses and children.

My concerns:

(1) I don't like it for the same reason I don't like profiling at the airport (I wish I had a dollar for every conservative radio talkmeister I've heard moaning that airport screeners should only pat down or body scan Muslim men and leave granny alone.)

(2) I have no faith that their conclusions would be accurate.

I'm actually fine with this as long as if something were to say happen later on in the marriage, this can be used as evidence to prove that whatever the man says which contradicts the woman's claims is true.
