Now this is the kind of sentence that will finally make a difference in false rape charges. The U.K. seems to be much more progressive on this issue. I only hope that the U.S. will eventually catch up, but I get the feeling it will be a long time.

Finally, an appropriate sentence. But we still have the same infuriating closing point made for every case of false accusation. From Malcolm Gilbert, of the rape charity Family Matters:

'The position of the group is unanimous in condemning any woman, or indeed any man, who makes false allegations because of the harm to genuine rape victims'

No, you ignorant sexist fuck. The harm is being done to the innocent men accused of a crime they did not commit.

Not sentenced for the harm she did to the man. Sentenced for essentially wasting police time. The rape charity condemns here not because she ruined a man's life but because she might have made it harder for "genuine victims".

Judge did mention the man as a victim but still no actual crime there.

She ought to be ordered to pay to cover cost of lie because budged are tight and the taxpayer, who is now paying her incarceration, also should not pay police work on false information.

But the article did not mention her intentions.

If you do this in germany, you do not only have to pay the damage you did but you also go to jail for like 3 years. dejure.org says that you can get 6 months jail or even 10 years, depends on what you did.

A message should be sent, an example made of her, she should have gotten the amount of time the crime of rape itself warrants.

14 months is a joke compared to the fact this guy's life and good name have been ruined by her actions.
