Why the fuck, and on what grounds, was /r/MensRights labeled a hate group? I do not understand.

I was sent this anonymously and had been keeping it just as a message, but perhaps now is the time to release it:

If the links are legit, then what happened was someone's buddy in the splc was pressured into it.

Edit: I thought the "deleted" poster was HarrietPotter, that was likely incorrect.

Strictly speaking, it wasn't named a hate group. The SPLC just very strongly implied that we are a hate group by labeling us "misogynist." Their reasons were funny - we complain when men get screwed and one of our ex-mods thinks there's a feminist-U.N conspiracy going on.

What it mostly comes down to is two things. First, the clowns at the SPLC are using their once fine organization to tar and feather anyone who doesn't agree with their politics. And second, since they killed off the KKK they have to find other "villains" to justify their existence - not to mention their fundraising efforts.

To be fair there do appear to be a decent number of posters in this subreddit that clearly hate women, for whatever reason.

However, these posters are usually downvoted next to immediately, and it is hard to tell if they are legitimate, trying to start shit, or just plain trolls. If you hang around long enough this isn't too hard to see.

Mensrights is deemed a hate group by the radicals because this is a spot where men may gather in a so-called "safe space" and discuss their own issues/experiences and how it may impact their lives. Such activities are only reserved for the politically correct.

The SLPC is about raising money and feminists are an emerging market. Apparently they can't get enough cash from the race hustling and tea party fearing industries. Non-profit organizations like the SLPC operate to scare old people into donating their estates after death. They profit off of fear and in true Orwellian fashion, they hate in the name of anti-hate. Screw them.

People like SRS and /r/feminism likes to stawman our position. They love to label us as an anti feminist group instead of a group seeking equal rights for men and equal fairness. I myself dislike feminism, but people often than not mistake that for me hating women, which is not the case. This just means we are gaining ground and becoming a serious contender, so you will see attacks like these, such as calling us a hate group.

The amount of hate and propaganda I've read in some of the articles opposing mens rights that are linked from here are pretty amazing. This idea of men being treated equally gets a lot of people really mad. I don't doubt people will throw every negative term possible this way hoping one will stick.

People are influenced by the misandry in our culture and media. A lot of people want women to have preferential treatment, and fewer consequences for their words or actions. They like putting women on a pedestal. To have a place like this in which men are raised up to the same level as women (or women are lowered to the same level as men, however you want to look at it), just strikes a nerve in those people. The fact that we make a lot of good points and defend our position well only angers them further.
