Anger is typically directed towards a specific source of anger, where as hatred is more general (in my experience).

Someone who blames all women, or shows anger towards all women, when it was specific women who angered them, might be considered as hating all women.

Just playing devil's advocate. I like the point of your post, and I do think you are on to something with your idea.

Yeah, I totally hate myself. I love it when people come here and tell me that I hate myself because I want my father, brothers, and boyfriend to have legally enforced equal rights in areas they don't just as much as I want them for myself.

Bit of a different frustration for me, heh. Blanket-generalisations are horseshit for errybody involved and accomplish nothing but the muddying of already clouded waters.

Yes, but a very wise person once said, ""Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."

Men are afraid of losing their children, or being lied to about paternity. They fear being forced to pay an unfair amount to an ex-partner. They fear accusations of pedophilia, sexual assault, and rape. They are afraid of being victims to a woman's violence.

Anger can motivate you, and most activist groups have their share. But anger can also twist into unreasoning hate, a global paranoia, and a convenient excuse for lazy ideologies.

Unless we want to add to the world's suffering, we need to watch the line very carefully and stop being afraid.

While there are some men who hate women, possibly as a result of the enormous discrimination against men in society at large, there is nothing to compare with the contempt for men in general expressed by entitled women. The Sharon Osborne incident has been much cited, but almost the whole female audience just sat there and laughed while she said that a man getting his penis cut off was fabulous. Contempt is not hatred either, but it leads to the same end.
