This story is what actually first changed my Men's Rights view from simply concern to actual activism.

Some years ago, I received an email from my University stating (paraphrased):

A male was seen approaching females looking for social interaction both on and off campus. If you see an average height caucasian male, with a jacket and red hat, please report him to campus security immediately.

And then a few weeks later:

A female has reported that a male followed her down several hallways and then suddenly ducked away. If you see any suspicious behaviour like this, report it immediately to campus security.

In the first case, the male was simply "looking for social interaction" (that part isn't paraphrased - social interaction is the phrase they used). Harassment has a very specific definition, and this person was not harassing people. Maybe he bothered some people, but he wasn't doing anything wrong.

In the second case, there is zero evidence that the male was doing anything other than going in the same direction as the female. His "ducking away" could have simply been him arriving at his destination! There are many, many grad students who stay late working in their labs.

Anyways, I hope other people share their stories. I saw a bunch on the "Half of men..." post, and thought I would start a specific discussion about these types of things.
