Did you ever hate a food as a kid, so you continued to avoid it as an adult. But then one day, you tried it again and found that you like it now?

I feel like that can happen with "types." You're kind of used to being attracted to that type of man. It's comfortable, predictable. You're more attuned to it. I feel like if you went out of your way to date objectively attractive men in all the type categories, you would likely find more "types" attractive.

Sometimes we also have like...unresolved emotional trauma. Whomst long-haired tattooed man hurt you? And why are you seeking validation through dating men like him? Maybe you're subconsciously afraid of it working out with a more stable type of guy, at least this one you have a perception of control.

My advice would be to get your feet wet and date other types of guys. Not ugly guys, just attractive guys who aren't your "type."

While my physical type is/was different, I too had a penchant for attracting emotionally unavailable men.

I highly recommend the work of Alan Robarge on YouTube to help learn about your emotional issues. As well as anything by Brene Brown.

I’ve really committed recently to being open minded about “type”. Because I think that is a small box that we put our own self in. What if your perfect partner ISNT a musician? But what if they supported your musical endeavors like no one ever has?

its kind of funny because mine is literally my boyfriend: very tall, thinner but strong, dark hair, eyes, features, olive/dark skin, works with his hands, hyper motivated and driven, patient, emotionally intelligent, generally intellectual, we have the same style, everything. as we got to know eachother it just became more perfect

At least 6'4, tall, thin but toned, dark longish hair, bright eyes, into the alt music scene, book smart, musically inclined but not a dick about it.

Tall, skinny with good bone structure in body so mostly has to do with genetics. Has to have wide shoulder, golden? Olive skin. And I only like natural guys so I’m not into guys that are into fashion. Among the countries I visited, German guys were the hottest and also, they’re very quiet in general unlike American guys which I hate since they’re loud and talk a lot.

Men and women with big brown eyes, long eyelashes, dark curly hair, olive/tanned complexion, fit.

Personality-wise, I like educated and witty people.
