So sad.

Nah I’d just not talk to guys who don’t talk to me first. No need to state it.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/03/22 08:58 PM

Usually social media shows me some things, but yeah that’s likely the case. So many LVs like this lately.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/21 01:03 AM

Guarantee these guys go hard after me. It’s weird. I don’t chase.
/r/askFDS17/11/21 09:13 PM

Yeah definitely. I tend to put my hobbies before dating nowadays. The right one will just fit into my life I suppose.

So true
/r/askFDS26/10/21 06:00 PM
14

I wouldn’t describe myself that way but that’s what people have described me as. Sorry I should’ve been more specific. As in the “independent alpha female” type. I’ve had close male friends say that I’m intimidating since I’m a confident woman who knows herself, rather than insecure. Which I think in turn makes men insecure.
/r/askFDS25/10/21 09:07 PM
24

I don’t tell them any details I just say that I’m taking my time with dating now and I’m more cautious.

This just guy told me “Me and my ex are not on speaking terms. I don’t want anyone, especially my ex”. And proceeds to “heart” every single one of her recent photos on her moms Facebook page. She doesn’t have Facebook herself but it looks like he definitely keeps tabs on her even if they aren’t on speaking terms. Can’t tell if that’s creepy or sad??
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/10/21 04:39 PM

That’s men for ya
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/10/21 09:38 PM

In this guys situation they dated for only a year 5 years ago, and she “broke his heart many times after that”. He just couldn’t let go. Sounds a bit stalkerish to me. I would love to know the details though. These men paint themselves as the victims when in fact they probably weren’t the best partners. They cling onto women as a pride thing. Who knows. Men are an enigma to me.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/10/21 01:14 PM

I was pretty upset because I was like wow someone is willing to wait for me to open up and actually likes me for me. Then nope.. But at least now I can be even more cautious. Soon enough I’ll have a whole suit of protective armor.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/10/21 11:15 PM

That’s a solid idea!

No clue. :/ it just comes out of nowhere.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/10/21 09:47 PM

Exactly, feeling like a second option is not for me, some girls will put up with it though. I’m pretty involved in the music community in my city and play music as well, go to a lot of shows and there are a plethora of younger men in those areas! Always a good idea to keep a roster.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/10/21 09:20 PM
21

Also, I saw multiple videos on Tik Tok about how men don’t marry the women they actually love, they usually settle with the one they’re with at the time once they’re ready. Apparently it’s quite common. It scares me to think about.

I personally would feel this way which is why I decided not to have children. He should’ve chose better and should get his priorities straight.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/10/21 10:31 PM

He was such a loser, and I was way above his league. It’s always those types. Cops need to be trained better on domestic violence situations. But they themselves are abusers so 🤷‍♀️

My ex to be exact. Learned my lesson by staying with him after he got a DUI 🤡 he’d scream at me and then expect me to go to his alcoholic group meetings. Him and his co-worker are married now. I wonder if she’s happy.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/08/21 08:32 AM
9

Thanks, that’s so true, shouldn’t have expected it. I was keeping my options open but not enough to just go on a roadtrip to see someone haha I’m happier single anyway. Men are so predictable at this point.

Anger is part of the healing process. It means you’re building self esteem. Once you pass that you’ll be okay.
/r/askFDS22/08/21 03:52 PM

Women like this are why men leave good women for doormat pickmeishas who will put up with anything and everything. “My husband” shouldn’t even be a thing anymore. It should be her estranged husband who she’s going through a divorce with.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/08/21 03:20 AM
9

Yeah I think most girls from Tik Tok are telling her to leave him too. She’ll figure it out eventually like most of us had to.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/08/21 05:36 PM

It’s called the Leo & Danny Show. That video is now private but he posted another video (now being racist and sexist toward black women) saying that he meant what he said about fat women and doesn’t take it back. https://youtu.be/kNEWk7cdxbo
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/08/21 04:57 PM
29

Yeah where are the men speaking out against this? I’m an avid listener of comedy podcasts and this isn’t comedy. This has no humor at all, it’s misogynistic and depraved. Yet he calls himself a comedian. On his Instagram he and his pick me girlfriend are calling women fat and insulting strangers for views in public. https://www.instagram.com/p/CKMwAI0Jcim/?utm_medium=copy_link
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/08/21 04:06 PM

But in a comment he said he’s highly attracted to FDS women because we are a challenge and if he got us and manipulated us it would feel like a “win”. Interesting.

I didn’t even want a fancy date with this dude though. Would’ve not been down for that then. I’m just saying sometimes the situations are different. If you say what you want, have them pic a better place and they refuse that’s a different story.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/08/21 10:34 PM

Just respond and say “I’d rather get food or something”. In the past this happened to me and I think he approached it casually cause we didn’t meet through a dating app.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/08/21 07:18 PM

Such a turn off when men get overwhelmed by literally nothing. Like get a grip bro. So weird to me and not something I’d ever fall for.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/08/21 08:34 PM
97

Yeah I blocked him. He made it weird. Like just chill dude I didn’t ask you to marry me or something lmao
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/08/21 04:48 AM

I think because I was basically paying him to record us I felt uncomfortable saying anything. I’m glad I did now cause I’m over it! So creepy.
/r/askFDS30/07/21 09:58 PM
25

I explained how that slapping comment sounds like he watches too much porn and he said I’m kink shaming. Rather than just apologizing and saying that he’ll stop he’s getting defensive and turning it all around on me. So yeah cutting his ass off.
/r/askFDS30/07/21 09:53 PM
1

Exactly! All that horrible trauma kicks in and I become needy, co-defendant and stressed. It’s not worth it. I’m trying to explain that to my friend who is constantly depressed over guys. It’s just so painful to watch. I finally snapped at her pickmeisha ways and explained that she needs to be alone. That it isn’t really that bad to be alone once you know yourself and can be on your own. The only thing is, sometimes it gets depressing and lonely not being able to get close to anyone. But at the …

Yeah it’s starting to make me feel weird, the staring is weird too. I’m just waiting to get our bands songs finalized then I’m probably outta there until we need to go over there again.

Most of these ghosters are unattractive LVM losers who think they’re more attractive than they are in order to feel more confident. They come back because they realize they’re trash, can’t get someone better and think you’ll give them the time of day again.
/r/askFDS25/07/21 02:17 AM
1

I wish women would stop providing men porn content on social media. They pleasure themselves to these sexualized bikini photos, does that not make them feel uncomfortable?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/07/21 01:50 PM
5

I have been for so long. It’s lonely.
/r/askFDS23/07/21 10:40 PM

Usually not. But they aren’t your typical “Chad”. None of the guys I’ve dated are over 6 foot. Probably because I’m a short girl, so it doesn’t really matter.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/21 08:33 AM

I’m attracted to white alternative men who are a little ugly. I know many friends who are the same and friends who only date black men.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/21 09:46 PM
3

Same, don’t want to have a body or be perceived. If only I could dampen my sex drive. Even antidepressants don’t help lol
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/07/21 04:35 PM
34

I go through that exact cycle but have never been able to go longer than a year, how do you do it? Since getting a great vibrator, I’ll think I want a mans touch until I orgasm then I’m like “nah”. I still like to go on dates and what not but at this point I’m so emotionally unavailable and uninterested in men.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/07/21 11:15 AM
94

Exactly, I don't understand why most men these days refuse to treat women with respect. They treat them like sex dolls/objects. If they just treated women the way they are supposed to be treated, communicated properly, they'd get more consistent sex, and both parties would be happier all around. Do they not realize this? So many women are turning to celibacy, me included.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/07/21 08:49 AM

Focused on my creative goals with music and writing, and looking for a job, which is kind of daunting. Job searching is a nightmare but I’m going to stay positive.

Smile, make long enough eye contact that lets him know he can approach. If he doesn't after that, then I'd leave it.
/r/askFDS04/07/21 04:57 PM
11

It definitely got worse after a horrible break up, terrible situationships following that and discovering FDS. It’s more of a “I feel hopeless” feeling than anything. I used to have hope when it comes to love but I don’t anymore, I’ve sort of become apathetic, therapy or not. Not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing but I have no energy to expect anything anymore cause it’s always disappointing.
/r/askFDS03/07/21 09:28 PM
9

Yeah that’s true. I think if they really wanted me I probably wouldn’t want them as much.
/r/askFDS03/07/21 05:51 PM
22

😂 I’m trying to channel gayness but unfortunately still straight. If only sexuality were a choice!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/06/21 02:07 PM
18

Yess!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/06/21 02:18 AM
31

Understandable, as I’m as bitter as they come towards men and have had awful experiences. I think it just bothers me because this exact reaction proves anti-FDSers right that we are angry and can’t comprehend basic humor without being offended. Then again I’m a fan of comedy and use humor as a way to cope.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/06/21 11:59 AM

It’s tongue in cheek. One thing I dislike about this sub is that most on here don’t understand when something is satire.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/06/21 09:51 AM

Leaving a comment because I have the exact same problem, perhaps I'm just emotionally unavailable myself, so I desire those types of men. Therapy and awareness of my attachment issues has not made any difference. So if anyone has advice I'd like to know too.

Get your life together and things will fall into place.

Nope. That’s why they all think they’ll marry a 10 someday despite their receding hairlines and weak jawlines.

Yes, this friend is not worth it. I’m an attractive girl but not super skinny and I get a lot of male attention. The amount of times friends have made jokes about me not “ripping their pants” when I borrow them or saying that my big boobs make me look bigger when wearing stripes or something, is ridiculous. These girls all seemed pretty insecure anyway, so I wouldn’t take it seriously but I just don’t stay close with these people. Maybe we’ll hang every now and then but I don’t make them a prior…

Just thought I’d mention the comparison.
/r/askFDS24/05/21 08:17 PM

Also, I’ve heard a lot of LVM call a woman conceived if she knows she is attractive. You may want to reword that?
/r/askFDS24/05/21 06:40 PM
2

What’s wrong with being more masculine as a woman? I used to be more feminine and as a result would be used and abused by men. How can I be more “feminine”? In your definition. I’d say I am an attractive woman, have been considered as such my whole life and I don’t think that makes me conceited. It makes others see me differently I think. That’s what I meant by the hot girl comment. I don’t overcompensate my looks, overdress or wear a ton of makeup. So I’m not sure what you meant by that.

I have and they said I just seem to have a lot of social anxiety, I use alcohol to cope with social anxiety as well. It’s been a while since I’ve been back cause money reasons.
/r/askFDS24/05/21 10:22 AM

A man who takes care of himself and his health, a lot of these guys who are head over heals for me were either alcoholics, didn’t eat healthy or exercise. I’ve found it hard to find a man who takes care of himself and works hard to keep me in his life. I do want someone creative, successful and funny of course. Those things put together = a man with a million options. Even if he doesn’t look like a model. It’s just that these men are incredibly rare, have girlfriends already or multiple options …

There's still a portion on FWBs in the official PDF handbook. Either way, it happened, what's your comment supposed to do? Take me back in time?
/r/askFDS27/04/21 02:39 AM

I’ll have self love, be doing so well in life and feel happy until a man comes along and ruins it. I think I’m going to be done with dating all together. I’ve said that so many times and that’s usually when awesome guys come along lol definitely getting my ass back in therapy.
/r/askFDS26/04/21 11:24 PM

I’m not I was going with the FWB section in the handbook, as I explained I’m not ready for a relationship but I do catch feelings as any normal person does. I have read the handbook several times.

I feel the same. It’s a struggle within myself. I’ve been taken advantage of sexually in the past and it triggers me when men only want sex from me. These days men want exclusively without the label and it makes me wonder why I’m not good enough. But then I remember usually it’s more about them than it is me. It’s so hard not to compare because I’m sort of a deep, creative, brooding intellectual type. These girls seem so happy and carefree. Simple. Not in a bad way, but I want to be them. Those …
/r/askFDS15/04/21 03:48 PM

Ugh exactly. Like the definition of “relationship”depends what the person is looking for and what defines a relationship for them. For example, I am a very independent person. I don’t get attached to the point that I’d want to be around that person 24/7, I don’t want kids, I want to sort out my life and career before marriage. But if I’m with someone, I’d want to call it a relationship and still do my own thing, while checking in with eachother. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. I don’t under…

He said they were together 2 and a half years. We both had a bad break up in common which we bonded over, though mine was over a year ago. He seemed upset I didn’t want to continue things, saying “I finally found someone I’m deeply attracted to. And I do have feelings for you but I just can’t be in a relationship right now. I’m not ready.” If that were actually true, he wouldn’t want to lose me and he’d be open to a relationship down the line. 🤷‍♀️
/r/askFDS14/04/21 04:20 PM
8

I’ll definitely use this comment as a reminder! I’m completely distancing myself. He tried the whole deep eye contact, lightly touching my arm, asking about my day, thing before we even tried dating. So I bet he’s going to try that again because he knows he’s attractive but I have enough red flags now to not be as into it. Professional stuff only. If he tries to swing the conversation I’ll cut it short.
/r/askFDS14/04/21 04:16 PM
5

Oh I definitely get controlling narc vibes from him. It was hard for him to take no for an answer and the fact that he wants exclusivity. I think I dodged a bullet there. I just wish he was unattractive, that would have made things much easier lol it’s rare that I’m attracted to a man tbh. If only I could swing the other way.
/r/askFDS14/04/21 04:13 PM

I don’t understand it either. Probably cause they need constant sex to function. So done with men.
/r/askFDS14/04/21 04:11 PM

Newly out of a relationship I can understand a bit. That’s probably why it’s hard to frame it that way. But you’re right.
/r/askFDS14/04/21 10:10 AM
25

Agreed..he charges us a decent amount though. Anywhere else would be more expensive. But I think if I don’t hang with him one on one it’ll be fine. I hope so at least, the attraction will likely wear off knowing what I know now (or I hope so anyway). It was strange that he wanted to be around me everyday, make music together and how much effort he was putting in for someone who doesn’t want a relationship. So manipulative.
/r/askFDS14/04/21 09:54 AM

He seems to think those are two completely different things for some reason. When I explained he wasn’t having it. Makes no sense!

I believe the media perpetuated this lie. The “hot asshole” vs. the awkward guy next door trope 🙄 As we’re getting older we’re getting hotter, more confident and more selective. I’m so glad I finally realized my worth and potential at 26! I guess it’s not too late but I wish I could go back in time with the knowledge that I have now.

Gotta love the future fakers
/r/askFDS30/03/21 08:16 AM

Omg exactly. It’s hard to tell with these guys, is it just an ego boost for them to have me? I’m not just here for someone’s ego boost. Did your guy also tell everyone you were dating not even a week in? For some reason he told everyone. So unhealthy. We dodged a bullet.
/r/askFDS30/03/21 07:52 AM
3

Ugh yeah I was so irritated by it. I’m finally just happy on my own and I feel like men always tend to think my happiness one day or another. It seems they want you most in these stages though. He sort of asked how he could pull back, but I was just like idk maybe we are looking for different things and left it at that. He seems extremely pressed about it so I think I dodged a bullet there anyway! What happened with your guy?
/r/askFDS29/03/21 09:36 PM

Yep, you called it! He’s also incredibly short for a guy. I’m short too but that may also have something to do with his behavior 😬

I have trouble with this because I have friends that are dating men who lied about their name, where they lived and cheat on them constantly. And they still have sex with them. My friend just told me she let a guy move his stuff back inside because he wanted her again. I’ve explained countless times and tried to help. She’s miserable but says she hates being alone. So she puts up with it. I had another friend with a controlling, emotionally abusive man. He told her to stop being friends with me …

So true. It’s lonely but I just can’t stand LVM or put up with shit. I feel like most women hide the situations their husbands put them through and pretend everything is all good to keep up appearances. They don’t seem happy to me. I’m not happy because I’m a bit lonely, especially with coronavirus and everything but putting up with an asshole isn’t worth it. Glad I learned my lesson when I did and found this sub. It’s so hard to find HVM and I’m learning not to expect someone put in the effort …

That’s so true. It wasn’t necessarily a full planned date though, he said he wanted to see me after his New Years plans and what not. That shows he must not have cared much but he takes the pandemic seriously so I guess he had that to fall back on, full on dates are sort of out of the question. It helps to know he’s feeling some sort of way, he unfollowed me back and seems upset about it. If he cares enough, he will reach out first and make it right.
/r/askFDS19/01/21 12:15 PM

Yeah, it’s hard to see it clearly sometimes. I’m not like this with anyone else and I don’t understand. I think it’s the typical anxious-avoidant/fearful avoidant dance we do. He wants me when I don’t want him. When he wanted me I didn’t want him. I’m definitely going to be discussing this more in therapy.
/r/askFDS19/01/21 12:01 AM

I would usually do this If I didn’t have history with him. He’s like me but a guy version. I see myself in him I can’t really explain it. We’ve been drawn to eachother for a while and that’s why I can’t let go lol I sound so stupid but you’re probably right.

Ugh. Men can’t find a balance. It’s either they’re way too persistent and creepy or they’re distant and careless. Both are such a turn off and not worth it. I’m done being treated less than, and only men make us feel as such. Makes me wonder what dating would be like if not for sexism and the patriarchy.

Girl, I’m aware I have issues. And trust me I have dated every type of guy imaginable. I was seriously dating a good guy, he was great put in effort and still wasn’t looking for a relationship out of nowhere, while we were on a weekend getaway together. They’re all the same. I’ve just given up and decided not to date. Trust me I’m not even looking anymore. I have a preference in looks, however. As an attractive girl I do have options, but I tend to gravitate to those types for reasons that I’m a…

That’s true, I definitely have a fear of vulnerability and commitment myself. But I’m also a musician and into the same things which doesn’t help. But overall, and according to my therapist, I prefer these men because they need saving and are more emotionally unavailable, which makes these men more desirable. Then I get sad when they don’t want to fall in love with me.

You should still watch it. It’s a great film.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/12/20 07:22 AM

It’s a good movie I’m a huge A24 fan. It’s basically about a man stuck in limbo giving into his temptations, the old man is his older self. At the end he wasn’t able to reach the light, because he clearly failed. Men are gross but the acting in this film and the cinematography was amazing. I’m a huge cinephile and I’m into screenwriting so maybe I saw it from a different lens.

So have I, I’m sorry to hear that. So many woman I’ve met have suffered abuse as a result of men, it’s just unbelievable. If only we weren’t raised to seek validation from man and taught that it means we’re worthy of something if a man wants us.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/12/20 12:13 AM
46

Honestly I’m the same way, even with a guy I’m not even that into. I guess the validation of someone wanting a relationship with you would make you realize you’re not actually as broken and unworthy of love as your subconscious thinks you are. At least that’s how I feel. My abusive ex made me feel like I’m unworthy of love and that something is deeply wrong with me, and since then no man has wanted to be in a relationship with me and part of me wonders if I am actually defect and only good for s…

/r/askFDS06/12/20 06:06 PM
-1

It’s so hard because we’ve never had sex or anything and been friends for a while. Back then, I wasn’t into him because I was still attached to my LVM ex and sort of ruined things and then when I was ready to date, he was hesitant and I think maybe his ego was a little messed up from how I was before, so he kept bread-crumbing me and bailing on plans at the start of the Coronavirus lockdown. So I dunno. He still isn’t making any effort so it’s probably best to let it go.

What’s “good enough” to them? I’ve been wracking my brain thinking that out of all of these men I’ve dated, none of them seem to deem me worthy enough for a long-term commitment. I think it had to do with my being mixed race and dating white men, so I’m put in a box of “she’s not relationship material”. Just my theory anyway. It’s hard not to get down about myself, men are impossible these days.

I am, I'm mentally and emotionally exhausted. Men have let me down so many times in my life, I can't handle the stress of dating anymore. I have so many stories, and I opened my heart again and thought things were great and then they weren't. It's really not worth it. Now I'm putting all my energy into making music, which is something I've been wanting to do for a long time, and that's all that matters now. Me, myself and I, as well as family and what is important to me.

People think it’s weird that I don’t think you should be friends with exes and date other people. It makes me uncomfortable and it feels like I’m second.

He said he ended things I guess. They’re on good terms and were together for 8 years. She’s very successful in the music community in the city so I wonder if that has something to do with it. I don’t know but I know they’re not together.

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/11/20 06:08 AM

Exactly, you put it into words. That's how it feels...like I'm the placeholder that they fetishize. I tend to end up with white men, but I doubt any of them would admit they do this, it's likely a subconscious thing. I'm definitely waiting as long as I can to have sex with them now, I don't trust any of them (and certainly not a republican!). Also, I think I'll have to move if I want to meet more men who aren't like this.
/r/askFDS08/11/20 10:18 PM
15

Agreed...I don't think I'll find someone here. I'm saving up for this reason and for my career. I don't think this place is for me. Hopefully I can move by next year.

Amy’s music was so authentic. Love her. Check out “Stronger than Me”.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/11/20 11:47 PM

That makes sense, I’m worried about ruining something with a potential HVM for this reason. It’s hard to know who to trust, since most men are total con artists.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/11/20 07:36 PM

Exactly. I had a guy who kept inviting me over to his place for “wine” and I said I only do dates, and he asked why and I said it was because it seems like a more casual choice if you’re looking for sex and he said “we’re not the right fit, you always jump to conclusions”. So weird.

He was driving haha terrible wording. But yeah I did, he’s blocked on everything now. He seems to be regretting it a ton, he texted me and I replied shortly then blocked his number too.

You’re so right. I’m feeling this horrible love hangover/ache in my chest and I’ll have to keep that in mind. I hope the right one is out there, or at least someone who won’t change his mind about me.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/10/20 05:29 PM
3

Exactly. If he had waited until after the vacation it might have been different. What hurts the most though is that I thought he was HVM and was so happy to be with a good guy for once who would prove me wrong. So part of me is thinking, “maybe I’m not good enough for an HVM.” But in reality he probably isn’t one if he could do that. I’m sure HVM can change their mind at the drop if a hat too, just like any man but maybe they’d go about it in a different way. Or know more of what they want initi…

That’s so true, he seems so full of himself. And thank you! I’m proud of myself. I bet 3 years ago I would’ve just went with it and felt awful.

Wow. My ex was like this too, except it took much longer. I’m glad I saw this ones true colors early on.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/10/20 06:27 PM

He did. In the text he said he didn’t expect things to change. He said it on the way back too. How on earth did he think I would? What a psycho. Glad the mask has dropped and I realized early on that he’s actually an abuser.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/10/20 06:25 PM
15

He already sent me a long message this morning as I forgot to block his number too since I just deleted it. Makes absolutely no sense, how can someone not want to be with you but not want to lose you? He can’t just want to be with me? I’ll never understand.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/10/20 05:35 PM
11

I blocked him on Facebook and Instagram. Forgot to block his number (as I had deleted it) and he texted me early this morning, I responded shortly and blocked him there too. I’m wondering if I should post his texts here, but it sounded a bit manipulative. He doesn’t want to let me go, but doesn’t want to be with me. It makes no sense and I deserve better.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/10/20 05:34 PM

I had no choice but to drive back with him, which was awkward. So glad to be home now.

I waited two months but I really regret it. We had sex a week before our trip. I think that’s it too. I regret sleeping with him, as I was incredibly hesitant to do so because of FDS and everything but I saw that he seemed to put in more effort because of that. I was truly enjoying our connection so I thought it was time. I think after he finally had me, he became judgmental and he said there was one reason he doesn’t want to be with me but he doesn’t think that wouldn’t be a “good conversation”…

I’ve been trying to post on ask FDS but it won’t let me :/ the good thing is we have a trip planned in a cabin in the mountains on Thursday and Friday. So that should be nice. I don’t know if we can hold out on the sex though haha Edit: looks like I was just added as an approved user. Thanks!

Yeah he saw it as I was trying to make something serious when that wasn’t the case at all. It was just like, “hey we’ve been sleeping together for quite a few times. How come you never stay the night? Do you see more with us?” And that scared him off I guess.

My ex never took care of himself, he always looked scruffy, played video games constantly, was emotionally abusive to the point that I’d have to walk on eggshells. He emotionally abused me so bad towards the end, I was extremely depressed. Turns out he just wanted me to dump him so he could date his co-worker, who he is now married to already (we broke up in January). I wanted him to change and gain some ambition, instead I should’ve just ended it. Now he’s someone else’s problem, she’s a major …

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/09/20 09:46 PM

Yeah I’ll have to pull back a bit. He knows where I stand in not wanting to rush things. I’ve had guys rush things with me, love bomb and then it turned out awfully. It’s great that he’s respectful of that and seems to catch himself. It sucks that a lot of women are so used to worrying what a man thinks in these early stages stages and whether or not they are “good enough”. Learning how to flip that type of thinking has been worthwhile!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/09/20 10:54 PM
2

It’s too late now though isn’t it? That’s why I’m a bit worried. We both disclosed a lot to eachother so I don’t really know what to do at this point. We really like eachother. But you’re right I shouldn’t worry about what he thinks, more the reverse. I’m still keeping my options open and he knows that.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/09/20 09:26 PM
8

That’s what I’m worried about. I read it and I’m just an open person so it’s hard for me to not disclose things especially when they also disclose to me.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/09/20 09:26 PM

What a strange guy. Dodged a bullet for sure. His personality is a huge turn off
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/09/20 06:19 AM

Even funnier is when I said he’s not funny, he said he’s funnier in person. To which I responded, we won’t be meeting in person, I’m not interested. His response? Let me know when you change your mind, you seem cool. I said, that won’t be happening. Block 😂
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/09/20 02:55 AM

Yeah something is very off about him. I’m so glad that I’m able to stop at the first sign of a red flag and trust my gut.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/09/20 11:35 PM
36

Negging has never ever worked on me. What evidence do they have that this works? Worst advice ever. I recall this happening to me a few times, usually from guys who are older than me. One time a guy at a bar said “wow, I’m surprised you’re able to hold a conversation.”
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/09/20 10:15 PM
38

So men actually read up on negging? Or is it something that comes naturally to insecure scrotes?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/09/20 09:24 PM
51

Exactly. I enjoy dark humor and comedy, but he seems to have no idea what that is. Let alone a sense of humor at all. Such a turn off.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/09/20 09:07 PM
124

After he said that my body seems tolerable from what he’s seen (we met on Hinge). He said, “it’s just a joke. If you can’t handle dark humor than idk what to tell you.” And I said “I can handle dark humor, you’re just not funny at all” and blocked his ass. Why does he think he’s a prize? He really wasn’t that attractive. I’m way out of his league physically. Definitely insecurity. I wish I saved all the messages before deleting.

He isn’t in therapy per say but he studies it on his own time and his podcast for men to talk about things openly. He does it in other ways I guess. His only issues as far as I know is that his parents were super religious and weren’t accepting of him leaving the church. I’m in therapy personally and think everyone should be at some point in their 20s.

All of the HVM green flags pretty much! Tidy, organized, ambitious, goes to therapy, emotionally available, looking for a relationship, respectful and kind, pays for dates, wants someone who’s also intelligent and ambitious like him (he said that’s what he likes most about me because that is important to him, has hobbies and a career (he’s a drummer, developer and has a podcast about open discussions) and a lot of friends. We have all of the same interests from music, to our mindset about our go…

We’ve talked longer than when we first went on a date. I should’ve mentioned. He’s a very open communicator and there are many green flags. He’s also looking for a relationship. But how long does it take to fully know?

I’ve been judged by men and women for wanting to look my best most of the time. Some guys (LVM especially) have said I seem too “high end” and fancy. And girls have said things like “you don’t look like you like to camp and do outdoorsy things”. When in fact I love doing that. It’s silly how we put women into boxes as if they’re just one way or the other. We should be able to dress and look how we want without being judged but I guess that’s human nature.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/07/20 03:10 PM
2

I think so too and I have been working on myself. It’s just that I’m extremely picky, and he checks all of my boxes. I’m not sure someone else will for a while. It’s rare that I feel that type of connection. But I’m sure I deserve better. Maybe part of me just isn’t ready for something serious so I go after emotionally unavailable men.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/07/20 10:47 PM

That’s true. It’s suppose it’s best to let go and stop wondering what could’ve been. These guys always come back though, and if he ever does there will be some serious boundaries. But honestly, I’ll likely be over him by that point. Those “what ifs” do mess with me.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/07/20 05:46 AM

Likely not...but now that he knows what I want maybe if he came back we'd be on the same page, but you're right. I don't know why I feel this way about him.

Try three and a half years! 🤡 I put my all into our relationship and trying to make it work, for the sake of a future with him and the idea of what it could be. What was I thinking. It's hard...I feel like some people just don't understand what it's like. They're telling me I just need to become more confident, when in reality this has been a problem ever since I could remember.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/05/20 12:32 AM
-10

Yeah cause I’m not just going to tell everyone my insecurities. I’m going to just be my most confident self, especially when dating. Why are you on here if you blame women for now men act? That they can “sense” it like it’s our fault?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/05/20 10:31 PM
-3

I’m not. What makes it seem like I’m not working on myself? I meant I’m not confident in dressing up cause I look sexual and shit. I’m a confident person overall, just not in the way people expect me to be. I don’t show off on social media or anything like that. I just don’t like attention. Unless you’ve been sexualized your entire life then I guess it doesn’t make sense.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/05/20 10:24 PM

The thing is, everyone says I seem super confident and guys have called me intimidating. I’m great at hiding it. So I’m not sure how else to do this. I’m in therapy, on Lexapro. The whole shebang.

How do they treat it? The last guy I dated had it. I liked him but he couldn’t keep up on communicating with me because of DnD 🙄

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/05/20 12:01 AM

That’s a good way to put it. I like video games myself. Like Last of Us, Red Dead, GTA and they’re awesome. Some are almost like films. But if that’s their only hobby then it’s definitely a turn off.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/05/20 10:54 PM

I was involved in film and screenwriting at my college but only took a few classes (just graduated). Maybe I’ll look for local clubs, theaters, etc. meet some interesting men there once social distancing is over.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/05/20 08:26 PM
37

I’ve had the same issue. They’re usually insecure if you’re smarter than them, I’ve seen it first hand. One guy told me that he likes smart women, but if they “overdo it” then it’s not attractive. I’ve had guys shocked that I was on my second degree, and so many guys I’ve met say “I hate school” after they tell me on a dating app that they studied at so-and-so university. They always fail to mention that they didn’t actually finish and get their degree. Such a turn off. How hard is it to study a…
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/05/20 08:14 PM
51

Omg exactly. You’ve put it into words. They come across that way at first, until it’s four weeks in and they just want to talk about their useless DnD habit, work or video games. I definitely could have been projecting that onto them, but they also fake who they are to “suck you in” if you’re that intellectual, well-traveled type of person.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/05/20 08:08 PM
13

I don't know, it angers me though. I remember she would comment on his photos that I took of him at a restaurant. Flirting hardcore, knowing that he's in a relationship. Why can't they find someone who isn't taken? Maybe they go for men with girlfriends because they have low self-esteem and feel good about themselves when they ruin relationships or if a guy who is on a date with another girl gives them attention.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/05/20 01:42 AM
148

Yet most guys still expect this type of treatment. LVM men will want and be attracted to independent women until they get lazy and leave them for pickmeishas (exactly what my ex did). A girl at work would bring him gifts everyday, he said I don’t do enough for him and left me for her. Dodged a bullet!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/05/20 03:46 AM

I have him blocked in everything thankfully. Sort of upset my friend told me, she said she thought I knew. Mind you, this friend was basically a frenemy growing up. She was always been quite jealous of me. I think she wanted me to feel some type of way. But honestly I’ve moved in. He’s not even worth thinking about. I’m just surprised he found a relationship so quickly, with this girl of all people. The only thing that still affects me is the abusive shit he said to me and how he made me feel ab…

I hope that’s true. She’s the complete opposite of me. She’ll probably be easier to be with (in his mind), less independent, easier to control, etc. he’s 31 so I’m sure that’s what he wants or else he will mentally fuck her up and ruin her self-esteem like he did to me.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/05/20 08:50 PM

Weirdly enough I haven’t slept with either of these men. Just made out and stuff.

Do you suggest I just cut them off then? Feels like that would make me feel so much better.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/04/20 06:48 AM

I don't see why that's so hard to find. Turning 26 next week and honestly questioning if I'm gonna die alone, why it is men don't see my worth. I hate that I'm feeling this down about myself.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/04/20 06:39 AM

Telling them I like them in return or merely showing attraction. They seem to want me when I don’t want them. It’s so frustrating. Mind you, these are two guys I’m referring to.

How come? I’m a little wary about it too. But not sure why.

I wouldn’t say I was a pickmeisha cause I would be honest and not put up with it, my mom is a very strong woman and always wore the pants so id never let him walk over me. He would tell me he’s going to change until he just stopped caring and became super abusive. I should’ve left much sooner than I did though.

Ohh I see! Yeah usually moms of mommy’s boys are crazy, that’s for sure.

Wait sorry his mom was sweet. He was an alcoholic bi polar mommy’s boy lol

Thank you for this, that’s a great way to look at it! I guess I’m so worried about the time I wasted, especially since I’m turning 26 next month. But I guess if I didn’t learn those things were on, then it would have happened sooner or later.

I’m short and broke, not ugly though. Still a catch or nah?

It’s easier than it sounds. At least during Coronavirus 😂

I’m talking to one guy I met on Tinder, one is a flirty guy friend who has a thing for me, and the other is a guy I met in class (although we also matched on Tinder). So, I’d recommend meeting men in other areas besides dating apps once this Coronavirus stuff passes and connect through social media/ get to know them. Also, what’s really worked for me is being honest about the fact that you’re dating around so they sort of have to work harder to keep your attention.

Oh, men with their basic ass responses 🙄 I’d completely just ignore the ones who aren’t reaching out as much! And focus on the ones that are. For instance, two of the three guys I’m talking to message me everyday. The other doesn’t really reach out as often, but we have plans to hang out once the movie theaters open up and stuff. It’s also a weird time to date right now.

Lol exactly, it saves you from disappointment as well. I've noticed when I would pull away and focus on one out of the three more, the others would pick up on my distance and try to make more of an effort. Why are men like that?

Yeah same. There are sensual pegging videos out there that are more intimate. That’s what I’d be more into.

Is it weird that I’ve developed move of a dominant view of sex? I get turned on by sensual pegging videos and men being more submissive. I’ve never been into BDSM though, where the woman is abused and what not. I think I’ve always wanted to take back control since men have taken advantage of me in the past. If I was dating someone open to it, I’d definitely give pegging a try.

So disgusting. This is why I’m going to be extremely picky about who I choose to have a future with. Don’t want to end up pregnant by the wrong guy.

Jesus. That’s terrifying. I wish I thought to tell someone about this at the time.

14 for me. I was asked by a COUPLE, the woman was pregnant at the time and had a baby with her, to join a threesome at 14 years old when I was at a fair. Her husband was behind her staring at me. My response? "What's a threesome?" She then asked how old I was and then booked it out of there and told me not to tell my friends.

I slept with an extremely LVM rebound after a messy, devastating breakup. Once I smelled his disgusting feet, I was nauseous and sent him home in an Uber (he didn’t even have a car. Not my proudest moment).

I’m in the same boat except me and my crush just marched on Tinder and he started flirting a bit more. Maybe that signaled to him that I am interested, but either way he knows I’m not waiting for him. I put my foot down and said “if you want to see me, don’t be a stranger. Text me instead of hitting me up on IG for a change” and he said he won’t be a stranger. I’m looking for more of a casual hookup thing right now honestly, but I think we’re pretty in sync.

I’m the artsy type so I guess I’m drawn to that. My ex was the opposite and we didn’t mesh well, he had almost no emotion or passion for anything.

Tik Tok is pretty popular now lol I know a lot of people who use it. It’s basically vine nowadays. 🤷‍♀️

I’m interested in a guy who doesn’t post on social media and hates it, which is great. However, he does have an IG still. I just hope he sees some of the people pleasing ladies he follows this way too. Who knows.

Yeah I sort of maintain mystery on there in a way cause as I said, I don’t have the energy. I’m also back in college and working on a field that requires social media (journalism) that could be why I’m a bit worried about how I’m perceived there too.

Why do most men always think they can do better? Like why are they so delusional? I honestly feel weird even complementing a guy because it immediately goes to their head and it inflates their ego. Is it a testosterone thing? I’ll never understand.

Women are taught at a young age that we have to keep up with trends, and be beautiful and feminine in every single way, from our head to our toes. We also have to look great every moment of the day. It’s so exhausting. I just want to be happy and it’s honestly so freeing to let this mentality go (unless that’s what makes you happy, then so be it). Beauty and clothing companies prey on our insecurities to make us feel like we need these things or else we aren’t going to be the most beautiful woma…

That’s so true, I’d be miserable if I had to do that. I’ve been focused on guitar and creative writing (things I’m pretty good at). I’d love to find someone who’s into those things too, but even then, a lot of creative types fall into the “hipster” shallow category who have an obsession with aesthetic and outward appearances.

I deleted Instagram for a while for this reason, but got a new account because no one uses Facebook anymore and it was hard to get a hold of some people. But maybe I’ll permanently get rid of it if this continues to affect me.
