Hi guys! This is just a tidbit I wanted to fair with you.

Online you might see women complaining about how men bully them or hate them for having hobbies or being in a male dominated field, and while sometimes it might be true, I wanted to share my experience with it.

So, I'm a HUGE video game fan, my favorite genre is medieval rpgs (think Skyrim, Dragons Age, and the Witcher) but I also play multiplayer shooter games like Call of Duty.

I have a LOT of male friends, and they have never bothered me or told me that a girl shouldn't play video games. In fact, we regularly play COD or among us together.

I joined an esports club at my uni, and the person who created the club is a male, and he doesn't bully me either. Most of the people in that club are male, and they don't have a problem with me either.

Also, I have a somewhat feminine voice and when I turn my mic on in COD, if there are boys they don't say anything bad to me about my gender at all.

I do applied computer technology, (which is the equivalent of computer science for you Americans or Brits) and there are a decent number of girls in my classes. Me and one of my friends are both Indian girls, and we are the most active in the class. In fact, boys come to us and ask us for help because we usually finish our in-class assignments first and my lecturer who is a woman uses my code to show to the class (not that she favors women but my code usually works so yay!) all in all I've had no issues.

Of course I don't think those women's experiences are invalid but I just don't think the majority of male gamers or CS majors bully women.
