There is a worrying lack of understanding between the idea of teaching something and telling someone your attitude.

People like this seem incapable of not constantly confirming my suspicion that they only see male. They don't see an individual male. They just see male. And male is guilty of every crime male has ever committed. Regardless of what he has done individually. And this includes children.

...Why are men in charge of women's rights and schools. A little switch up on things set y'all up.💀💀

[–]OmnipotentToot 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (40 children) | Copy Link

Wtf. Men aren't in charge of women's rights or schools. I'm from Canada where women are guaranteed rights in our constitution and women go to the same schools as men.

Private schools might be different, but I'd take issue with a man running a women's private school to. I also think segregating by sex in schools shouldn't be a thing anyway.

[+]veggie_val -8 points-7 points-6 points 4 years ago (39 children) | Copy Link

First of all, yes they are. Who are the wordl's top leaders?... Men. There have been serious meetings about women's rights, and not a SINGLE woman attending, just mature white men. All the regulations about women's bodies or the way they have to conduct theirselves are made by men. Please don't bring bullshit to the table. Who do you think make moat of these abortion laws and things of that sort?... Even in catholic, all-girls schools... Men are the ones making the rules. So please, don't talk about men not ruling over women...

(P.S) I don't give a shit about what you think. Bring facts, and facts only please.♡

[–]OmnipotentToot 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (36 children) | Copy Link

Abortion is a very complex issue that both men and women have a stake in. Stop trying to make it all about women.

[–]veggie_val -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Typical response after you realize you're in the wrong. I never made it all about women. Y'all tried to make it about men only, and paint men as the victims, and when I said that women are literally the MAIN ones targetted by most of these things happening, I'm the one trying to make it seem like it's only about one of the sexes?- Stop pulling shit out of your asses.

[–]OmnipotentToot 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Typical response after you realize you're in the wrong.

I do not believe I am in the wrong. Are you projecting?

I never made it all about women. Y'all tried to make it about men only,

I did not try to make it about men only. I said, word for word, "I'd take issue with a man running a women's private school".

when I said that women are literally the MAIN ones targetted by most of these things happening

Except that's false and you know it. Lack of access to abortions harms both sexes, and (where I'm from) women have more rights than men.

I'm the one trying to make it seem like it's only about one of the sexes?

Now you're getting it!

Stop pulling shit out of your asses.

I have never and will never pull shit out of my ass, be it literally or figuratively. I don't always provide sources backing up my arguments but they are always rooted in reality

as a side note, I've made comments in the past that go against the mainstream but are ultimately subjective and so cannot be incorrect

[–]veggie_val -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (33 children) | Copy Link

Abortion is not at all complex. The owner of the body with the uterus should have full right to do whatever the fuck they want with their body. Nobody's stopping men, stop trying to tell women what to do. If you don't have a uterus, you don't have the right to be telling people who have uteruses what to so with them. It's really as simple as that. Mind YOUR fucking business. Nothing "complex" to it.

[–]Cortinagt1966 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

You understand more women think abortion shouldn't be legal in Texas than men do. Don't blame men, I personally think abortion is fine

[–]veggie_val -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

The laws are passed by men. When did rulers start caring so much about what women wanted? They mainly pass laws based on men's opinions.

[–]Cortinagt1966 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

Let's see, do women make up 50% of people, yes. Can they vote, yes. That's why governments care about their opinion.

[–]veggie_val -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

They never did... Like I said. They make up MORE than 50% yet, men are still dragging them around (figuratively, and literally in some Middle Eastern and African countries.

[–]OmnipotentToot 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I disagree. I don't believe that children are a gift from god or anything, but I believe if a woman gets pregnant, the man should have some power to choose whether to keep the pregnancy.

If both don't want it: abortion If either wants it: no abortion

[–]veggie_val -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

The person without the uterus should have no power at all. If it's not his body, it isn't up to him in any way. The key is to find someone you love and who wants the same things you do. The person with the uterus is the one who has to suffer for 6-10+ months with a being inside of them, cravings, and a lot of difficulties.

Ugh, is she teaching them to recognize it in their partners ?

Otherwise she is doing nothing but reinforcing their self image that men are evil. You tell that enough to someone and they eventually my go f-it you think Im evil ? Might as well act evil and take what I can it doesnt matter anyways.

[–]veggie_val -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (63 children) | Copy Link

Absolute bullshit, are you trying to use the idea of people teaching others and consent and violence as a way to try and excuse men's behaviors?...

[–]sleepyJoeBidet 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (62 children) | Copy Link

Umm so men are rapists, and women are victims? It goes both ways.

Actually reading the article she did teach them about recognizing it. Which is refreshing too many men dont think that they could be the victims of abuse. Too often when they talk to guys it is focused on not abusing others.

Men already know rape and murder are wrong.

[–]veggie_val 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (59 children) | Copy Link

If they know it is wrong, why continue? And also, you're the one who's saying "men are rapists, and women are victims." I've never said one thing about victims or rapists or anything. You're mad that boys are being taught what girls are already taught. Men complain about how boys aren't taught enough about these things (that girls are ALREADY taught about), however, if they are taught... Y'all also find an issue with it. Make it make fucking sense.

[–]Starmind0 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (57 children) | Copy Link

You're clearly an oaf trying very hard. Welcome to the world, oaf, bad people exist. They know they're doing bad things, but they keep doing it for their own reasons. But your misandristic self just have to blame men. Since when did school teach girls about that stuff? SPECIALLY telling them that they themselves could be the problem too if not taught right? Meanwhile boys here are taught that only they could possibly grow up and become bad, but you're desperate to make that seem like what MRAs wanted. Try harder.

[–]veggie_val 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (56 children) | Copy Link

I don't need to try harder to explain things that are being experienced firsthand, and can easily be seen everywhere. And thank you for telling me things I already knew?... I guess. Anyway, you mind pointing where, in my comment, I ever blamed men for anything? And schools have been teaching girls about that stuff nonstop. Anytime things would happen to young women, they teach them about consent, intimacy, etc. Even uniform regulations are forced upon them more than boys. And on top of that, schools all over have made public announcements for girls to "cover up" or walk in pairs so that nothing wrong happens to them, instead of telling boys to keep their hands to theirselves or keep their reproductive organs in their fucking pants. I love how you think your comment made a big statement.💀💀 You thought you ate that♡

[–]Starmind0 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (55 children) | Copy Link

You blamed men for the crimes as well as kept generalizing men and MRAs while talking utter misandry that they "don't know what they want" and "can't make up their minds". Give me one school from Google that taught girls those stuff, I'll wait. "Uniform regulations are forced upon them more than boys" Boys are literally not allowed to dear dresses, skirts, make up, nail polish, have long hair, act feminine, or even have a beard or mustache according to a new school's regulations. But sure whine more about how girls "have it harder" because of enforcement of deceny that they barely face. Boys are told an unbelievable amount of disgusting things daily at school, you're simply not ready to acknowledge that. Whine, misandrist, whine.

[–]veggie_val 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (54 children) | Copy Link

I never heard of a school not allowing boys to wear whatever they want unless it's a religious school. And even then, who bullies boys who act feminine and wear what they want? MEN (This is fully experience-based. Even my friends go through shit like that.) That's absolute bullshit. It's mainly girls who are told disgusting things, and it mainly comes from boys at school too. Idk what type of little universe you live in. However, I live in NYC where EVERYDAY you see women being harassed, cat-called, disrespected out in the streets if they reject men. At least they're told those things in school, girls are told nasty shit EVERYWHERE. I have friends who loved to party, who now even barely want to leave their houses due to the constant sexual harassment.

[–]Starmind0 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (53 children) | Copy Link

Lmao so now you're literally denying that boys are facing those issues? In Spain a boy was expelled for wearing a skirt. And in america a boy was expelled for wearing nail polish. In the middle east it's the literal norm for boys to not have long hair, act feminine, or wear dresses which all would get them expelled and even get legal action done against the second and third ones. "Who bullies feminine boys? Men!1!" Ah yes, the typical response of a misandristic feminist against sexism against men, that it's "dOnE bY mEn" which, 1, doesn't make it any less sexist which means men are still oppressed and facing sexism and misandry. And 2, isn't even true lmao. Tons as well as the most of the ones doing it are women who call men gays for doing those stuff and for not being attracted to them. Men are dying in high numbers, ignored and denied, hated and killed, even mocked and blamed by disgusting misandrists like you. But poor little you thinks women are suffering a lot which they're not. They don't. You're either a misandristic white knight or a 14 year old girl who wants to be oppressed. Try harder, and cry while you're at it. Crawl back to your echo chamber, this is men's rights sub where we love and respect men. Cheers❤

[–]veggie_val -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (52 children) | Copy Link

Not once did I deny that they're facing those issues. They simply face them way less than women. "... isn't even true lmao. Tons as well as the most of the ones doing it are women who call men gays for doing those stuff and for not being attracted to them. Men are dying in high numbers, ignored and denied, hated and killed, even mocked and blamed by disgusting misandrists like you." It is in fact very true. Most of the hate that feminine/gay men face ARE from men. I see it daily, and I FACE IT daily. Men are dying in high numbers, yes. They're being killed, yes. By who, though?... MAINLY MEN. Idk what you find sexist in MEN killing other MEN. A lot of these things that you claim men are faced, are usually due to other men. Like I said, places with religious beliefs, you moat likely can't wear what you want... Do you not know how religious it is, over in Spain. And I'm a Black, gay, high school student.♡ And I don't WANT to be oppressed, I AM oppressed. Black, gay, feminine in America. I love and respect men, not murderers, rapists, and assholes who advocate for them, and try to put them in the victims' positions. No matter how hard you try to push this idea that men are suffering due to women... It'll never be what you want it to be. Id anything, you're the one who seem like you want to be oppressed, along with these other assholes.

[–]gratis_eekhoorn 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If they know it is wrong, why continue?

When made to penetrate is included women and men rape eachother in similar rates so if women know it is wrong too why do they do it?

And also, you're the one who's saying "men are rapists, and women are victims."

You literally implied that in your previous sentence

You're mad that boys are being taught what girls are already taught.

Really? has any school ever teached girls about consent and respecting boundaries of males? no, they teach girls "how to protect themselves" while teaching boys "how to not be monsters" or even they make them apologize to girls for the "crimes committed by their gender"

[–]scroogesdaughter 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Check our White Ribbon UK. There are men out there working to stop male violence. Men kill women and other men. It's not men's fault, it's society's fault. Look up toxic masculinity. Feminism was created as a response to men oppressing women.

[–]sleepyJoeBidet 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ohh I know about toxic masculinity.

And reject it for its persistent roots in blaming men. Its an inherently misandric concept. Just like the patriarchy, if it was not intended to be so the thought school that finds terms such as "blacklist", or "hysteria" problematic would have abandoned it in the seventies.

[–]TrainConductor145 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

I'm confused, how is sex education a feminist agenda?

[–]Solid-Perspective98 39 points40 points41 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Depends on how it's implemented and portrayed. The male perpetrators-female victims paradigm is often upheld. In my personal experience, boys are singled out when the conversations are about seeking consent from others and severity of punishment for sexual offences. Conversations regarding others seeking consent from them, how to protect oneself etc are focused on girls. I recall a student remarking on a cartoon or anime scene where the girl forced herself on the guy. The response? Most people laughed and cheered, the educator laughed herself.

[–]Greg_W_Allan 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It isn't sex education. Furthermore it generally involves teaching consent as an obligation for boys but a right for girls.

Not well known but the most likely adult to sexually abuse a student is a female teacher and the most likely victim in a school is a boy. In fact it's not even close. The sad irony is the most likely perps are taking the opportunity to groom boys into an understanding they have no right to consent.

[–]SolarEngine89 40 points41 points42 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

In a "teach boyus not to rape" style. All shit about toxic masculinity, opression, objevtivation and such.

[–]VeteranOfDepression 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Never once in my old school have they ever acknowledged that men can be victims, and actively deny and make fun of male victims of sexual abuse. Every school I've ever been in has been that way.

[–]SolarEngine89 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, I hear that alot, and that's pretty shit.

Although, I have never encountered it myself. Sex Ed in my school was pretty adequate, though we had not special sex Ed class, it was a several lessons topic on BSL (Basic Security of Life, as far as I can translate that) course for teens. About condoms, pregnancies, abortions, STD's and such. Maybe it was a bit boring, but, after all, nobody tried to brainwash us.

[–]Kindly-Town 24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

They teach boys that rape and violence are gendered. That fills shame among boys when some of them suffer the same issue which they were taught that it's women who face that.

[–]TrainConductor145 20 points21 points22 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thank you guys for the responses. At first glance, I thought teaching consent in sex ed was a good thing, but it's obviously a more complicated issue. I truly hope they aren't teaching these kids the way the comments are explaining. Consent shouldn't be gendered and the stereotypes of only women can be victims because only men abuse shouldn't be incorporated in sex education.

Again, thank you guys for taking the time to respond!

[+]montreal51444 -9 points-8 points-7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hello, they teach consent in sex education in mixed schools. The article was about a teacher talking about it to a all boys school. At the end of the day everyone needs to learn consent, and yes it is mostly men who rape. But women do rape also. So we all have to learn about it

[–]Greg_W_Allan 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In fact shaming boys over matters relating to sexuality will lead to some of them experiencing the same symptoms as victims. It's a knowing act of cruelty.

[–]DestructionDestroyer 28 points29 points30 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"Consent" education is "if she regrets having sex with you, it's rape".

[–]TrainConductor145 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

After hearing about what is actually taught, I wholeheartedly disagree with this type of "education"

[–]OldEgalitarianMRA 19 points20 points21 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

With #metoo, there is no statute of limitations on this accusation.

[–]SolarEngine89 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Interesting. I am a bit in a headache after vaccination, because my immune system goes wild after second dose, so do not take this idea seriously, but...what if...

What if feminists actually orchestrated that murders to use em as an argument is their agenda?

Creepy, I know. But just imagine, what would happen if it was so, and that info suddenly surfaced in media.

Ugh, my head.

[–]Angryasfk 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No. False flag stuff does occur. But mostly those with an agenda are simply opportunists, taking advantage of events to promote their own agenda. For example, the recent court case of Brittany Spears has been seized on by feminists in Australia as supposedly showing how women are mistreated and abused. In truth it’s how people with supposed “mental health issues” (including the elderly with dementia etc) can be screwed over, but feminists are determined to make it fit their tale: Brittany Spears lost control of her life because she’s a woman, not because she has bipolar!

I’m not sure how this is a bad idea. I would love if women were taught this too. Not sure why this is a bad moral / lesson to have. Everyone, man and woman, should be respected sexually / physically.

[–]GulchDale 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I don't think it's a bad idea either, but it says a lot that it's only boys getting this lecture. Are women getting lectured about consent too? How about emotional or financial abuse?

[–]Sun-Kizzed -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Did the murders happen in the same state? If so, my old hometown is going through murders right now that are happening to prostitutes. They are teaching prostitutes safety and how to defend themselves during this. There is literally nothing bad about teaching someone something good. I’m not sure I get your point.

Edit: Notice I didn’t use pronouns. The murderers are still anonymous, and could in fact be women. Notice I used they because it can be women and men as prostitutes. Although the deaths have all been women, it is still possible.

[–]Axleonder 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Everyone knows that violating a woman's consent and such is wrong. This is just "we are punishing you because you are male" tutoring.

[–]Sun-Kizzed -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This is not a punishment?? It’s educating and informing….

Edit: If I had the chance to be informed in school about what men get put through horribly on a daily basis and be informed on how to support and help I would most definitely appreciate it.

[–]OmnipotentToot 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Here's the thing. The vast majority of men inherently understand the concept of consent. Hell, I was having the "don't hit a girl" message shoved down my throat by other kids when I was 6, so what do we need this "education" for?

Very very very few men don't understand consent. Most violence, sexual or otherwise, is done by those who know it is wrong and do it anyway.

[–]Sun-Kizzed -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Where are you getting this information. The men you know?

[+]montreal51444 -15 points-14 points-13 points 4 years ago (45 children) | Copy Link

But girls do get thought on sexual abuse and consent. We also learn about it cause we live it regularly. Also statistically it is men who do most violent crimes, sexual abuse and domestic abuse. They probably teach it in mixed schools also cause it’s part of the sex education.

[–]Axleonder 18 points19 points20 points 4 years ago (44 children) | Copy Link

Get out of here with your feminist smearing. Most domestic violence is done mutually, while most of the no-reciprocal violence comes from women.

[–]Axleonder 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The purpose of these teachings is to teach young men they are subhumans and worthy of scorn. They not for teaching about consent, sexual violence or domestic abuse. People know these things and violating consent are wrong, including young men.

[–]montreal51444 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

statistic Canada it’s not about telling men they are subhumans. 1 in 3 women have lived unwanted sexual behaviour in public and 1 in 8 for men. Men have more chance of living sexual harassment in the work place. Talking about sexual harassement and assault is important. That’s why sex Ed is super important in schools.

[–]Axleonder 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Don't give me this sleight-of-hand term "unwanted sexual behaviour". You're basically including every man who says "hey pretty" to a woman, as being next to rape. That's how you and your linked statistic reaches the bogus "1 in 3" claim.

[–]montreal51444 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Just go read the fkn thing or don’t talk it’s literally real government statistics that point out that people are getting raped especially girls under 18. And teaching consent to teenage boys and girls isn’t harming no one. It’s a sad reality but it’s better knowing how to protect yourself or not perpetuate.

[–]Axleonder 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, not reading through it all, since your motive is to just drain my energy dealing with your propaganda. "Teaching consent" is about teaching boys that they are evil for being born male, and needs rejecting.

[–]Sun-Kizzed -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

[–]OmnipotentToot -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Women and men do see a problem with sexually abusing each other. Anyone who doesn't is an outlier and should be locked up if they can't control themselves.

That’s kind of strange, because I’ve heard a bunch of very terrible things still said. I actually don’t think all women and men do. I wouldn’t call them an outlier either. Women sexually abuse men and some of it is never spoken. Men sexually abuse women and some of it goes unspoken.

[–]OmnipotentToot -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

People are horrible to men everywhere. But I guess if you live in a rich neighborhood, you won’t see any anti-men people, sorry, I forgot.

Edit: also pretty invalidating to men who grew up wealthy but mentally / physically / sexually abused.

Please don’t compare this to feminist smearing. Feminism is for validation of women who would like to inform and educate EVERYONE that equality is important to both genders. Not that women are superior. Same goes with men’s rights. Men are equal to women, not that men are superior.

[–]gratis_eekhoorn 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

EQUALITY of both sexes. Society, as I said, has warped this.

[–]Sun-Kizzed -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

No, I mean people who are looking down at it. Of course, there are people who are very anti-men, but that is not what a feminist is. There are horrible women who think “men are devils”, and it is absolutely disgusting that people think that. Because I’ve met so many amazing men that have my biggest support, as I have theirs.

It’s the people who use feminist as a derogatory term. It’s the people who associate equality with women wanting superiority. I hope you one day realize there are women who are willing to support men just as much as many men support women. And no, they are not white knights or simps for supporting feminism.

No, I mean people who are looking down at it. Of course, there are people who are very anti-men, but that is not what a feminist is. There are horrible women who think “men are devils”, and it is absolutely disgusting that people think that.

Those anti-men people were literally the leaders and prominent figures of the feminist movement starting from the 1st wave.

Because I’ve met so many amazing men that have my biggest support, as I have theirs.

That is nice.

It’s the people who use feminist as a derogatory term. It’s the people who associate equality with women wanting superiority.

because there is evidence of so much misandry in the movement since its first wave. Look, advocating for women's rights is not under the monopoly of feminism, feminism is a hate movement that should be denounced by everyone. you dont have to use that label to advocate for women.

I hope you one day realize there are women who are willing to support men just as much as many men support women.

Although the majority of prominent MRA figures are women, (that I know of at least) I doubt that it is true sadly, we dont see crowds of women marching for men while you can see the opposite pretty much everywhere. (but to be honest there not many men marching for their own rights either.)

And no, they are not white knights or simps for supporting feminism.

Depends on what they think feminism is about, there are many men who trully hate their own gender the rest are just clueless about how anti-male the feminist movement actually is.

But everyone is taught. They're teaching young men what has already been taught to young women. Men complain that feminists should teach men instead of blaming them, but when they are taught, that's also a fucking issue. They need to make up their fucking minds.

[–]Sun-Kizzed 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

The problem is that it's not a lesson for everyone, it's just a lesson for boys. Making domestic violence and consent a gendered issue when it's not.

[–]rahsoft 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why wouldn’t you want to educate your kids against these things after such a tragedy?

I wouldn't call it education because there is no basis to claim that all men are rapists or DV perps( DV is running at 50:50 for each gender now).

it would be like educating all girls not to murder their children , all girls not to be violent etc

generalising a group never works and creates resentment.

just put yourself and all girls in the same position whereby only you get the "education"

.. and since the headteacher is invoking sabina nessa , will she be "educating" all immigrants not to murder?

see how it doesn't work ...

[–]Ensifror 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The problem is the assumption that boys need to be taught not to rape or abuse women. The assumption that males inherently engage in such actions unless instructed otherwise.

Framing rape as a masculinity issue, rather than a sociopathy issue. You don't go around teaching children not to shoot people every time someone gets shot.

[–]SG_3160 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There's nothing wrong with the concept about teaching this to young boys. It's just very hypocritical it being taught by a woman at an " all boys school " most likely a bias female perspective will be taught to the students and therefore create more of a " it's boys/men faults this happens ". Try teaching this at an all girls school with a guy and I'll bet a bunch of backlash will unleash.

[+]longduckdongger -14 points-13 points-12 points 4 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

There isnt anything wrong with it, apparently teaching basic consent is a feminist agenda and framing it as an attack in masculinity while strawmanning some other poorly formed argument as to attack the credibility of the person teaching this because of her being a woman.

And people wonder why mens rights are accused of a misogynistic motivation.

[–]gratis_eekhoorn 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I have a few questions for you:

Are males defective individuals that need to be taught about basic consent otherwise they will rape?

If this is only about teaching "basic consent to everyone" why are boys being educated about "respecting boundaries" and girls are being educated about "protecting themselves"?

from that article:

"Survivors UK says in teaching these teenage boys, its intention is to educate young men on becoming better 'partners and fathers' in the long-term."

''We are educating these young men how to be good partners, fathers, there can be nothing more important than that.''

Again same anti-male rhetoric: "men are not good enough we need to educate them to be better individuals for women"

Don't tell me this is just a good faith education for everyone about consent and not a targetted scolding for boys.

[–]longduckdongger -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well considering men are more likely too be abusers statistically speaking seems like it's a good start. I dont feel like you're coming from a place of good faith if you're blatantly ignoring this key piece of information.

And its ok for women not to be thought consent, respect? Half of domestic abusers are women too, where is the pressure there? More women cheat in relationships compared to men, where is the teachings there? Why are u acting as if these boys are inevitably going to grow up to rape. No one gives a shit about actually paying attention to them and caring but stuff "dont rape" down their throats as if they are some kind of monsters. Do u have any idea what kind of negative psychological effect this has? Rhetorical question. You dont, cause you my friend are either oblivious or choose to not pay attention, like society itself. "Statistics show that 1 in 6 US women will be raped annually in the US. Surveys and rape statistics by gender have found that 1 in 6 American women, and 1 in 33 American men has experienced an attempted/completed rape as a child or adult."

When tf did i say women bad? We all know women are rapped more. And implying boys are dangerous and will grow up to be rapists (which is what teaching concent means in America) isnt going to help. In fact, calling them monsters is MORE likely to have them go down that root. This programme acts to call out and basically scold this kids about that lol. This garbage is as stupid as telling fathers to tell their sons "dont rape girls". How stupid is that. If u have to teach your son not to rape, you have a far larger issue at hand. Someone like you who literally has NO idea ABOUT the issues of men itself shouldn't be advocating for men's rights. Its like asking a fish to climb a tree. It simply doesnt know how cause it has never done it before. I'm sure i speak for alot of people here when i say i'd also rather not have a conversation with someone so oblivious (may or may not be by choice) when it comes to these stuff

[–]longduckdongger -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Considering how I am a man I can advocate for mens rights, considering how I've been fucked my the child custody system and child support sustem i can advocate for rights, I just dont look at problems in black and white and use whataboutisms. There is a reason the mens rights groups are viewed in a poor light by men and women and I cam promise you it's not because were "oblivious" of how the world works and I can advocate for the fixing the problems on both sides without joining a group that attracts clowns from mgtow and the red pill. Once you get rid of the nasty rhetoric people will actually take more interest in aligning, but that's just my 2 cents and I have no clue why I even got a notification from this sub.

[+]montreal51444 -9 points-8 points-7 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I understand why some men would feel eager to come into movements like men’s rights. But the child support system was created by men, and patriarchy upholds the belief that women should be the one taking care of the children, therefore women get custody most of the time. Also patriarchy is a system that both men and women uphold, and it can benefit women in certain aspects (I mean less than men but it can) like for example child support or showing emotions blah blah. But the feminist movement wants that to stop. Men’s rights was actually founded in the 70s by men who were anti-feminist and hated women. Idk why they would post something like that except really hating women.

[–]longduckdongger -5 points-4 points-3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Sadly this happens when a group feels like they're not being heard or their problems being recognized and while I feel as someone who's been screwed by the system I dont feel like their problems are as pressing as other ones from marginalized groups and instead theyll just start strawmanning how one group has it better and all those mgtow talking points.

It's sad that I have to teach my daughter about the horrible shit that can happen to her and the guys on this sub are so fragile that they automatically assume it's all men.

[–]montreal51444 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think they pretty much are what the feminist movement are talking shit about. No one ever said that peoples rights weren’t taken seriously. Literally all liberation movements just want ppl to live better lives. But the thing is, it isn’t women who are oppressing men, it’s themselves. And when we talk about men, it isn’t all of them, it’s the powerful men who are treating us like shit. And when I say all of us I mean men women kids of all backgrounds and race and everything. we are all under the same shit. It’s just that some of us have it a bit harder but it doesn’t mean that white middle class men don’t live oppression we all live in the same world. For example, saudia arabia ppl live shitty lives in a fascist gv. But yes, saudia arabia women have it way harder. Does it mean men have it nice? No. Idk why talking about consent to kids is a bad thing. Their group is very radicalized

Women sexually abuse in equivalent numbers, if you don't doctor stats to leave them out, and far more in child abuse, being in the majority of caregiver roles.

This is about blaming all men for the actions of criminals, holding children responsible for the actions of criminals, and is especially rich, as for sure these boys don't understand the concept of consent, as no one in their lives has ever considered the issue in regards to them, as evidence by national rates of genital mutilation of boys.

We educate children on and against the atrocities of ww1 and ww2 even though they themselves were never an active part.

Education is prevention. These boys of course haven’t raped anyone, but there’s no harm in educating them against it following such a ruthless tragedy.

Yeah, imagine all the rapists and murderers out there tutting, then declaring: "Oh no, if I'd been taught it's bad to murder and rape, I wouldn't have murdered or raped."

We educate children on and against the atrocities of ww1 and ww2 even though they themselves were never an active part.

Put the straw argument down and take ten big steps back.

Girls need to be taught about consent and to take responsibility of their actions.

Boys need to be taught about false allegations and keep receipts.

[–]someone_butnoone 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Except 9/11 and WW2 arent things to worry about. They are history. If ur stuffing shit down their throats, "dont rape or abuse" do the same shit to girls too

[–]Brave-Evidence2793 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We educate them, sure. Do we "Teach little boys not to fly planes into buildings"? or do we assume that is obvious, and are just teaching history?

Education is prevention

Yes, and when you are educating in a sexist way about a problem that affects both genders, it's no longer prevention and now pushing a sexist unhelpful agenda

We educate children on and against the atrocities of ww1 and ww2 even though they themselves were never an active part.

Seriously? We aren't educating them with the idea that if we don't they'll turn into nazi's. Only a raging psycho maniac would do that.

women murder children in neonatal stages in ungodly amount but have you ever heard a campaign to start educating women to stop murdering such small children??

[+]EnvironmentalWar4627 -25 points-24 points-23 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I haven't seen the presentation on consent so I wouldn't know what is in it. You've clearly seen it so the more you can tell us the better.

Unless you just decided what's in it without any evidence to support that assumption and you're just reacting accordingly.

There is still a concerning amount of violence against women not just in this country but globally, the majority of perpetrators are men.

You mean like this quote from the article that shows she is categorically discounting male victims of women?

Survivors UK says in teaching these teenage boys, its intention is to educate young men on becoming better 'partners and fathers' in the long-term.

Yup, that's what we need. Women telling men what it means to be a man. As if they had a single fucking clue.

The Met has since vowed to make the streets safer for women and girls

Certainly no mention of how many men died during the same period these women were killed, which is undoubtedly more.

And again, they are making the streets "safer" by treating children as abusers, which leads to more abusers (if they're going to be treating you like one anyway, might as fucking well)

Unless you just decided what's in it without any evidence

Maybe STFU and pull your head out of your ass and read the fucking article.

[–]Clemicus 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

About three to four times as many

Yup, that's what we need. Women telling men what it means to be a man. As if they had a single fucking clue.

Not just that. That charity is one of a few that provide services specifically for males.

[+]EnvironmentalWar4627 -25 points-24 points-23 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Oh. I see. You're just upset they aren't talking about men. How dare they mention helping women without mentioning helping men. Thats like talking about donating to cancer research and not mentioning aids research at all. It would be dismissing aids victims because you are obligated to mention all victims of a crime or Illness in order to discuss some victims.

[–]Brave-Evidence2793 25 points26 points27 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

donating to cancer research and not mentioning aids research at all

When cancer research is giving sexist presentations in schools and no one else is allowed to, yeah, i'd take issue with that too

Go home, troll.

[–]xx_DEADND_xx 25 points26 points27 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's like donating to a cancer research centre but all the money goes to the research for the cure for breast cancer only

[–]Legitimate-Ad-6267 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You don't stop rape by telling people they're potential rapists.

[–]someone_butnoone 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. So many fools dont get that complaining and hating instead of getting to root of the problem and providing a healthy lifestyle for boys will come back to bite them in the ass

[–]Legitimate-Ad-6267 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Literally the solution is just be a half decent parent.

[–]someone_butnoone 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Truth. But that definitely lacks in the US. HELL, they dont know the first thing about their boys, their goals, their ambitions etc.

[+]Archangel1313 -11 points-10 points-9 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

How is this a feminist agenda? I think it's important that boys learn this...especially if they're going to an all boys school. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of these kids have almost no regular contact with girls, so everything they're likely to "know" about them, is going to be learned from other 14 year old boys.

Imagine the bullshit that they're going to have unlearn, once they get out into the real world, and actually start interacting with real girls.

[–]CyclopeWarrior 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You know what's also a great idea, let's put men teaching about sexual discipline, how not to make false accusations, how not to weaponize sex and how not to do paternity fraud, in all girls schools.

See the problem yet.

[–]Archangel1313 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No...I don't. What "problem" do you see with all that?

All this shit should be a standard part of sex ed, as far as I'm concerned. Not just what part of the body goes where, and how to put on a condom. A person's sexual education should also cover the emotional and mental challenges associated with it. There should be entire chapters reserved for things like respect, etiquette, personal hygiene, relationship expectations, etc. You want people to grow up with a mature and realistic understanding of sex...it needs to also include a realistic understanding of consequences, whether physical, emotional, or even social.

[+]Its_K_M -8 points-7 points-6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Why is this a problem?

[–]j0k3ricu 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There are more female pedophiles in teaching profession than DV deaths. Why teach consent from female and leave out female sexual predators.

[–]Its_K_M -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh ok of course

[+]TraditionalCup1007 -6 points-5 points-4 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm not totally against it.

I think it's good boys can learn these things.

But I just hope boys get to learn they can be victim too.

If they're just thought in feminist's terms ,it would be disastrous

[–]someone_butnoone 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Girls need to be thought concent too

[–]TraditionalCup1007 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

yes,everyone need to be thought

if what they do is "listen people this and that happened now let's work together to make sure something like that never happen" it's well and good

or if what they do is "you are born a m*n😠 so you are at fault🤬" like a typical twitter feminist do

then....then we are all fucked

[–]someone_butnoone 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That is literally what they teach now in school bro. They look at the boys and speak as if "You guys gotta learn to respect women and keep your penis in your pants". Ofc they dont literally word it like that or they'll be smacked across the face, but they way they look at the boys and their tone gives it all. There is no, "lets work together to protect each other". I can say cause i had first hand experience in this. Implying that these kids have a high chance of turning into monsters isnt helping anyone.

[–]helloimderek -5 points-4 points-3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The article is pretty wholesome. It's educating men to conduct themselves properly. What point are you trying to make here? That since it's a female in charge of an all boys school that somehow wrong? If she's teaching them the consequences, i.e. murders, of conducting yourself in a nonconsensual , sexually violent, and abusive way then I don't see what's wrong with this.
