Words are just words, he has to prove how he feels about you through how he treats you and what he does for you, always

And even then, he treats you well until he doesn't, goes beyond and above until suddenly drops all effort. They can literally change overnight from loving and caring to aloof and indifferent.

If a man writes you one poem, he’s in love with you. If he writes you 1000 poems, he’s in love with poetry.

I had such a hard time not gagging when a coworker shared the creepy, crappy hiakus some older asshole texted her. She thought they were romantic which depressed me. They were about as romantic as stepping on a used condom on a 100 degree day.
It ended exactly as I foresaw-- his wife found out.

I almost kneed myself in the face I cringed so hard at the condom bit

I don't care how prohibitively expensive and gentrified NYC gets, curb-side condoms on a sweltering summer day are still the marker of urban life. Maybe the sperm has a bigger investment portfolio and the hookers cost more than they used to.

I suggest searching up the poem to see if he actually wrote it.🕵️♀️

Once in my highschool years, a bf wrote me a nice letter... Found out by the time we graduated that it was from a monologue of a movie with my name in the title😂😂

4 hand written love letters in the first 3 months? classic love bombing.

And that's a red flag, ALWAYS. It's easy to not mind it at first, but later on you'll see it was a red flag all alone.

I felt so sad learning that in a romantic relationship, EVEN after marriage, you have to be careful about getting comfortable, letting your guard down, and sharing vulnerable parts of yourself. It helps to learn to spot red flags early on and avoid emotionally unstable people, but idk if it’s just me, but being in a romantic relationship married or not just appears to be a job. You have to keep at a certain level and not get too comfortable or else they’ll get bored and leave. Maybe this is me just exaggerating or that I had to deal with guys in the past that expected me to look and act perfect at all times (but they also didn’t like fake hair, makeup, fake nails, etc….?) and they were not even healthy, classy, or well kept

I just see so often that many women are very forgiving of men even when they cheat or commit crimes even, and when men get emotional and let down their guard later into a relationship, women have no problem. But god forbid a woman gets sick or looks different without makeup, and the man just leaves. Idk

You do, but don't give yourself anxiety about it. You cannot control other people.
Part of the reason why women feel guilty about taking precautions is because we're branded as emotional and crazy. The other part is not being picked.
If they get bored, that's on them. If they use your vulnerability against you, that's their character flaw.🤷Sure it will hurt. But it will always hurt more if you stay. You're allowed to leave. Cut off people that enable them too.

Seems like the more a relationship is on social media the more often he does this

I’m sorry that happened.
Men never mean the things they say 🤷🏻♀️. It’s just better to judge their actions until the end of time.

Talk is cheap. Lying is so easy, that’s why many get away with it. I don’t believe karma is real bc almost every man alive would have been hit by lighting or something by now with the amount of lying they do to get what they want 😂

He did what he needed to do to let her guard slip, cheat and figured he’s a nice guy, so she would give him another chance. She should have asked for jewelry, not poems. At least she’d have something of value. Now, she has to give constant side eyes if the next guy she meets is a writer like wtf 😂

In high school, I had a Spanish teacher who would tell us something similar.
"A man doesn't love you unless he buys you jewelry."
"A man in love with you will invest in you and buy you quality pieces."
"If a man doesn't buy you jewelry he doesn't love you."
I remember thinking she was crazy and I didn't believe a word she said. Until she told us a story about her ain't shit husband. He was financially abusive and gave 0 fucks about her and their newborn baby. When she finally had enough of his shit.... she pawned all the jewelry her ex-boyfriends gave her and she got the fuck of town! The smartest woman on the planet.

Some cultures have that institutionalized in the tradition, that a bride gets as much gold jewelry as possible as an old-school form of insurance.
