That's not what a pick-me is. A pick-me is a woman who likes to put on a show that she's 'not like other girls'. It doesn't mean that she's submissive or agreeable or any other trait that men like, it just means that she separates herself from other women.

Usually they're mental cases once you scratch the fake cool-girl surface. Actual submissive agreeable women don't need to try to convince everyone that they're better than other women and they don't pedestalise themselves.

Eh I can think of 2 ex gfs one would describe herself as a pick me and one truly added to my life in invaluable ways and is how'd you imagine a pick me. The first one was just an entitled princess with daddy issues who was addicted to me because of how I fucked her. In her mind she's an ex pick me who did everything for me but really she was just annoying and needy and a warm hole.

A few years ago I bought the 2nd one a house, even though we're no longer in a relationship because I truly couldn't have gotten here, as quickly as I did without her. I've blocked the 1st one but I hear she posts a lot of FDS content about being a reformed pick me. Do with that info what you will.

I think guys like a bit of a challenge in the same way girls like guys with a bit of darkness in them. Also bending over backwards to too much of an extreme can be a breeding ground for resentment.

Also we've brow-beaten men (the honest ones at least) into thinking that they want a "co-equal" partnership of a woman who's frankly quite masculine. So there's probably a bit of that. Blue-pilled men won't go after them, and half of RP is just about pick-ups, which means avoid clingy girls.

Most pick-me women dont know how to ask for what they want so they attract narcissistic people who dont care about giving, normal guys who enjoy making their partner happy will be less attracted to a women who cant ask for what they want and will assume they just dont want them, and just like their female counterparts they will end up attracting narcissistic women.

Look at how a lot of families and relationships among the wealthiest population operate. What you're seeing there is 'pick me's' who got exceedingly well rewarded for it.

For that matter, even among average joes, the only women I know who had stable, lasting relationships, were at least some degree of what other women would call pick me. It works fine as a strategy. There are other words for it too: loyalty, patience, accepting, loving. These traits exist because they work.

What you're hearing is the loud minority. Who either had a bad experience that was unjust to them... or they weren't as blameless as they're making themselves out to be. Could go either way, really.

Most of the pick mes I’ve met have been unpleasant people.

This seems to be an unfulfilling relationship and suspicion thing.The functional couples I know view acts of service and the like as something you do in a relationship because you want to. Coming from a dysfunctional family I get it but both sides seem to either have terrible taste in mate selection or they are the problem.

If I found a nice pickme woman, I'd treat her like a kween. I have no problem bending over backwards for a woman that does the same. Pickmes are great, unfortunately they attract men that like to take advantage. These women need to realize they are the whole package, but that's not enough when dealing with toxic men. Find a man that appreciates all of your good qualities and reciprocates = best outcome for a pickme.
