When any feminist/woman tells me to stop manspreading, I just tell them it’s my body, my choice

Chances are they would take up more space on the seat than you to begin with. I'm a regular bus user and very few womens' backsides don't take up some of my part of the seat. I've always accepted this as a natural consequence of human physiology - men are broader in the shoulders and women are broader in the hips. I certainly didn't make up infantile words to shame others into posturing themselves unnaturally.

ive never hsd anyone ssy this to me in real life... i dunno how id respond outside of it absolutely being disagreeable. i imagine that, knowing me, id just casually remind them that im not telling them how they should sit and their thoughts on how i should sit are less important to me than literally, anything. the plight of sandcrabs at low tide... way more important to me. what color bedsheets are the most common in western mongolia... way more important to me.

bottom line, there is nothing in the world someone could do or say tgat would end with my capitulation to their demands on how i sit. fuck no.

Manspreading is one of countless of examples of gender manipulation encouraged by feminism. A well as owning the narrative. The idea that men take up more space in public is a rouse to disguise the fact all women know, it’s that women do. How many seats are taken up by bags.

Men don't need a biological or scientific explanation for sitting like that. Lots of men sit with crossed legs, it's everyone's personal preference. Sit however you want, feminists just want to be oppressed.

Ive never seen one man block out another on the subway with a manspread. I've only ever seen that manspreaders can be spoken to.

My conclusion is that this is mostly about geometry. I personally don't find it particularly uncomfortable to sit with my knees together, but in order to do that without using constant constant contraction of the muscles of the inner thigh, I have to put my feet fairly far apart, which I suspect would also cause irritation to those either side of me. If I put my feet together and relax my legs, my knees swing apart. If your legs are spaced further apart at the top because your pelvis is wider, as in women, the geometry changes, and things are different.

This is not that complicated, no matter what political spin anyone wants to put on it.

I’m a man and manspreading pisses me off (even though I dislike the name).

The reason is that the guys doing it on public transport give no fucks about infringing on others’ personal space or touching them unnecessarily.

They are always jamming their knees into my knees when I’m sitting next to them, until I ask them to stop it. Then miraculously they can sit normally when they have to.

If it’s really about making room for your balls, respect that the guy next to you doesn’t want to sit with his legs jammed together. Just sit normally, weirdos.
