I'm pretty sure they'd just get desensitized to people's problems because they're exposed to them all the time. Most doctors I've met don't really give a fuck about your problems and you can tell.

I would never date docs and surgeons from having worked with so many of them. They are despicable as human beings. Feel like I should say ymmv but uuhh na, as a group they are insufferable.

Not nec in your field but give @kimbersprings on TikTok a watch sometime. It's satire of male misogyny that is insanely accurate and hilarious.

I'd love to find other people on TikTok or YouTube w somewhat similar themes as Kimber...

Hey, I TOTALLY feel this right now. It's most noticeable for me when I'm trying to go to sleep and I try to think of something that makes me happy and I feel like so so much of life in obscured by patriarchal nonsense and...I don't know, I remember this stuff already pissed me off when I was young and my mum told me I'd feel less angry as I got older. Not the case, I'm angrier than ever, and having a hard time channelling this anger towards anything positive. I feel it alongside you

It honestly seems as though many male doctors become doctors for prestige and adulation. I’ve had so many mediocre to downright alarming experiences with male doctors over the years. Sigh.

Also, reading about the horrible work for low pay nurses have been suffering since the pandemic shows that it’s likely much of it is because nursing, like teaching, is predominantly female. So unfair.

One guy onces reacted to me telling him I was in medical school and going to become a doctor (he asked me) by saying “oh, that’s so cool, I’ve wanted to become a doctor, but I gave up on it and did something else. But if we get together, I’ll have a doctor in my family”

Oftentimes if I'm referred to a male doctor, I usually end up feeling like I'm being treated like a thing or an object. Last time I had to go through that, the doctor didn't even bother to speak to me the whole time, he would only talk to the nurse sporadically. It was horrendous. I felt invisible while he was actually going through the exam. How do you even manage to do that? Touch someone's body while acting like they're not there.

I've had some negative experiences with female doctors as well, but the worse that happened to me with them was that they were a bit cranky or I found their advice unhelpful.

I don't really follow doctors on any social media, but I watched a couple videos from Dr Simi Adedeji and she's so wholesome! Her videos are interesting, informative and she also seems like a very understanding and empathetic type of a person. I was disappointed that she's not from my country, I think I'd be less anxious about doctor visits if I had an appointment with her!

I'm in the nursing field and there is no way in hell I'm going to come from work, where I have to suppress my needs and care for many other people all day, just to come home and continue the same thing. I get to be human, too.

Don’t let the YouTube blast get you in the dirt. I’ve worked several areas of nursing, Inpatient Psych, Developemental Disabilities, LTC/MedSurg, and Hospice. There are always going to be assholes but the vast majority is are not. I’ve dealt with maybe two or three asshole doctors but the rest were awesome. The patients can be all over the place but most patients feel bad for taking up my time, like they aren’t worth the care.

Jerk patients are often that way due to fear and not feeling heard. Any “mean patient” came around after I sat down for a few minutes and listen to their concerns, making sure to take them seriously. With the exception of the few I’ve mentioned, all of the doctors took my questions or concerns seriously but those who were jerks got called out on it.

The only reason it sucks right now is because of CoVid and burnout. You will hear many a healthcare worker complain about everything with that and rightfully so. That being said, I still love my job and the ability to actively make a difference in someone’s life.

Scrotes are threatened by a women who are able to find fulfilment without needing a live penis. Funnily enough, I know plenty of female doctors who ARE NOT MARRIED because they achieve the stability they needed without having to rely on a man.
