HVM/HVW were terms that existed prior to FDS. FDS adapted them to make them more holistic. Whenever I saw people use them before or outside of FDS, it was to describe a rich/wealthy man or a ‘classy’, attractive, feminine, and often childless woman.

In FDS, it is acknowledged that being high value should be more about being a well-rounded, good person since men of all classes can still be disrespectful, some of the women who meet the femininity criteria can still be pickmes or grifters, and being a single mom doesn’t mean being deserving of bottom of the barrel men.

God, I’ve been waiting for a long time for someone on this sub to talk about this absolute lying goofball. Not even close. This grifting idiot is doing what every single other online “buy-my-courses” pick up artist is doing. Designating “value” to women by how many men they’ve slept with, their appearance, etc, bullshit that has nothing to do with their character, etc. The first time I ever heard “hurr durr high value” was on youtube’s manosphere. It’s why AT FIRST, I was hesitant to join this sub.

The terms HV and LV predate FDS and exist in many different communities of discourse. The people they are applied to will vary WILDLY depending on who's using the terms, however.

I've been a follower of this sub for a long time and considering the OG posts, I'm 99 percent sure FDS grew out of the hypergamy movement, which itself grew out of sugaring/escorting spaces. Originally, "value" referred to actual monetary value more than the holistic version of "value" within FDS.

(By the way, this history is why I think it's important for us to be mindful of how we speak about women who sell sex. It's true that the fact that there are men who think sex should be on sale is abhorrent, but if you look at the way SBs/escorts talk about vetting their clients, keeping a roster, being an Argov-type bitch—there is a LOT of overlap with FDS. It seems like a lot of them can't stand FDS because we adapt their frameworks without seeming to understand where they're coming from. I don't support the idea that sex should be up for sale either, but I support the women who feel like they are not in a position to not fulfill that fantasy for men.)
