I’m not worried about my partner’s female friends, and neither is he about my male friends. Maybe when we first met, we might’ve been intimidated by the easy rapport they have with someone else of the opposite sex.

But you quickly realize: if two friends wanted to date, they would’ve done so looooong ago. If they didn’t develop feelings during their many years of friendship, it’s not gonna suddenly start now that I’m in the picture.

Example of this arc: my partner recently admitted to me that he felt a little threatened by a couple of my male friends early on. But as he got to know me (and my friends) better, he sees sooo clearly that those relationships would’ve never happened.

Instead: if I were the jealous type, I’d be more worried about new friends he’s making.

I admit that falling for your friends does happen. But a) it’s usually in an earlier phase of the friendship, b) when old friends / acquaintances reconnect after a long time apart, or c) idk, when we were younger and there were more hormones?
