CS/CS/SB 1796 — Dissolution of Marriage > Here's a Summary of Bill the Family Court attorneys are up in arms. Presumed 50/50 Custody = Big Reduction in Conflict. Reduction in Conflict = less Money for attorneys. Ending Lifetime Alimony = Reduces Financial Incentive for Monthly Stipend = Less Need for Attorney = Less Money for Attorney. Changes to alimony applicable to any final judgment entered on or after July 1, 2022. Notice how adversaries of the bill will word their opposition and provide no details on how it actually is not a good bill. It's a great change. " The Family Law Section of The Florida Bar asked Wednesday that he veto the bill." These are the people that do not care about your children and they want your money more than anyone ever will in your life.
Custody Highlights: "The bill also creates a rebuttable presumption that equal time-sharing with minor children is in the best interests of a child and provides that a parent moving to a residence within 50 miles of the primary residence of a child from a residence more than 50 miles away is a substantial change in circumstances."
Alimony Highlights: "Permanent (lifetime) alimony is eliminated, leaving bridge-the-gap, rehabilitative, and durational forms of alimony." and "A presumption that both parties will have a lower standard of living after dissolution of the marriage."
Even if you don't live in Florida, speak up. This is big and if you're a father who's experienced the abuse of family court, if you know a father and/or husband who's going through it, if you know someone anywhere in the country going through it: NOW is the time to take some kind of action. Share this, make a call, type an email, write a letter and have your friends do the same. The country will be watching. There's lots of stalled legislation in states that can get a push from this passing. Talk about it. Make a BIG deal about it. Point out the fact that if family court attorneys are against it- it must be good. Point out the hypocrisy of blog post and articles you'll read. If ANYONE is against a parent being a parent 50% of the time, they are mis-informed or have something to gain. Don't frame it as a mother vs father issue. Don't frame it as a Repub vs Dem issue. It's not. It's a PARENT issue and 1/2 of the country's children have lost a parent by the state turning them into visitors.

Horrible devastation happens to Parent, children and ex spouses because good people sit by and do not take any action. Doing nothing will ensure future generations to endure the same hardships and the cycle will continue.

Attorneys and Feminists always oppose these bills. It really shows you where THEIR best interests are.
It's shocking to me that in this modern and progressive age, we need legislation to establish that fathers are parents, too.
The Fourteenth Amendment, according to some people, says that queers can get married because they deserve a family, too. Some other people read the Fourteenth Amendment, and they conclude that women can kill their unborn babies because they're free to have the family they want, too.
It's amazing to me that the Founding Fathers wrote ALL OF THAT into the Fourteenth Amendment. Yet, somehow, inexplicably, they forgot to mention that fathers have a right to see their own kids?
THAT'S the official story? Good God.

What views are you talking about? What I wrote is absolutely true. I didn't give any opinions about queers or abortions. Wow, talk about easily triggered. Sorry, I'll put a "TW" up front next time, just for you, cupcake.

I think if the Constitution allows gay marriage, it should also allow men to see their kids and be a part of their lives. That was my entire point from the start.
