LADIES ! MEN ARE NOT HERE TO MAKE YOU FUCKING HAPPY IN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS, LIFE, OR MENTAL HEALTH!

That loud enough?

We'll have confirmation when their screeching starts

[–]Great-Flan-5896 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We must start screeching louder than them.

Ladies always tells us guys "we do not owe you a relationship", then we do not owe you our money.

or marriage

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or anything. They can figure life out themselves.

[+]HighestTierMaslow -6 points-5 points-4 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Oh boy men do that just as much!!!

[–]SecondEldenLord 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

False, but you are entitled to your own opinion.

[+]HighestTierMaslow -7 points-6 points-5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Women are much more relationship oriented than men. Men are more likely to try to get all of the benefits of a relationship without committing to it.

[–]SecondEldenLord 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Benefits? really? And what benefits are you talking about? Oh, are we talking about the hot bad boy who you chase after and ignore his bad behaviour towards you and let him do whatever he wants till he gets you pregnant and leaves to find the next sucker? Yeah, I guess you are right there, but how come you don't go after an average man till is too late? Oh right, cause you need security and a sucker to raise the child YOU MADE with the bad boy.

Average men do commit ot relationships and want to be loyal, but those are invisible to you till you actually need them to be your beta to raise your child.

[–]NeoNotNeo 47 points48 points49 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

In exchange for sex you are owed sex. In exchange for affection you are owed affection. Nothing else.

There isn’t a woman born yet that deserves a free home with a relationship.

[–]JoeHero2000[S] 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree. Reciprocation is the key to a truly happy relationship. If she doesn't put anything into it, how can she expect anything out of it?

[–]HighestTierMaslow -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Joehero2000 that exact statement is why I used to say I'd never get married. Men expect emotional support from women when they don't give it back because "theyre a man", if a woman didnt give it back shes a b****, men expect you to be 100% honest all the time when they arent, women work just as hard as men and financially contribute today (gone are the days when women never work I don't know what planet you all live on) yet STILL do the majority of childcare and housework, women are expected to be more attractive than them lest they "settle", and never gain weight yet men can and its no biggie, best saying: the juice isn't worth the squeeze. Why put forth all this effort when the man won't? Then I found a man who isn't this, but dear lord he's a RARITY.

[–]HighestTierMaslow -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Free home? The % if women who don't financially contribute to a household in this day and age is extremely small...

[–]BagimsizBulent 31 points32 points33 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

YOU MADE ME FEEL is their favorite sentence. IT is all about their feelings. If you are unhappy about something and tell your feelings she will complain about how telling her your feelings made her feel bad. Narcissism mixed with princess syndrome. After their 40’s when the sexual attention goes away, they fall so hard, and it is not a pleasent thing to watch. Culture is ruining women and men in different ways.

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, you can see it even in common conflict resolution materials too where they recommend a structure of "When you did/said [blank], it made me feel [blank]" as a way to try to work through things instead of making statements of the structure "You always [blank]." or "You never [blank] or "You're an asshole!"

I guess if your relationship is so degenearte that you're in heated arguments constantly, it probably is an improvment, but I quickly abandoned trying to use it myself since all that happened was it encouraged my wife to focus even more on her feelings even for little silly things and also what you said, "If you are unhappy about something and tell your feelings she will complain about how telling her your feelings made her feel bad." Much better to just tell her calmly that her behavior is unacceptable when she does something like belittle me.

And also if it's something I can't do anything about, there's no point in telling me the thousandth time that it makes her feel [blank].

[–]JustALotOfLetters 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Just explain that her feelings do not change what is right and wrong and also her thinking she can get you to change with her feelings doesn’t leave you with a good feeling. You don’t like selfish people.

[–]BagimsizBulent 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I do not like selfish people….

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I've told my kids many times feelings aren't right or wrong, it's what you do with them that matters. For example, anger is simply a response that prompts us to take action. It isn't a prompt to necessarily do something bad (often it is, so you have to evaluate). If you're angry about an injustice being done and use that anger to motivate you to campaign for changes, that's a good thing.

Just to help you out, I’m sure you don’t mean all women. But ALOT of women have become vindictive feminists and misandry has poisoned their minds. Been going on dates recently and I live in LA so lot of nut cases out here. If I see the slightest sign of feminism, girl power, iStandWithAmber or any other pathetic sexist tag in their socials I insta-ghost them. Lot of shit to sift through…

[–]JoeHero2000[S] 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I agree with what you're saying. They're not all that bad. On the other hand, finding a woman who has not been touched by the allure of feminism in the U.S. has become like finding a needle in a haystack, though.

[–]Great-Flan-5896 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

People are easily influenced.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

True but it’s temporary. Women are desperate for love, touch, security and they do want children. Eventually they’ll have to come to terms with their priorities and decided that man bashing is not getting them the family life they crave and hopefully they wake up. If they don’t then natural selection will do it’s magic.

[–]JoeHero2000[S] 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Sometimes it takes a while for a woman to let go of their anger towards men. My mom was angry at her father for her entire life, until he finally died when she was in her 50's, and she finally realized that he wasn't the bad guy she thought he was. It took my grandpa dying before mom realized that it was actually grandma that drove him away......

[–]elebrin 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I had an almost similar experience.

My mother rarely has nice things to say about her father, but there are some things I know from the circumstances of her early life.

Firstly, my Grandfather never touched alcohol. He also did his best to warn his kids off the stuff, given his side of the family had some serious history with alcohol and his uncles had been prohibition era distillers. He was a WWII pilot and that took some serious dedication in those days to be a teetotaler.

Secondly, he had six kids including two that were oopsies (the first and last, specifically). That doesn't mean a lot on its own, but he stuck with his family despite everything.

Thirdly, he changed careers three times to take care of his family. In High School, he was in an apprenticeship program (I have the papers for it) to be an electrician and go into the trades, then he got drafted into WWII. He had the option to defer, but he didn't. He gets a lot of respect from me for that. Next, instead of staying in the military, he went to college and went to work part time as an electrician. He later worked for the power company and ended up in some sort of engineering position. He later left THAT job, where he was the local boss, to work security as a peon for a university in a big city because it made three times the money. He ended up transferring within the power company too and worked a full time job there along with a part time job on the university campus.

Fourth continued working until all six of his kids graduated college and he paid every penny for them to attend. There were strings attached, they had to attend the university he worked at, they had to live at home, and they had to work a few hours a week to contribute to the food budget, and they had to get good enough grades... but he took care of them.

Finally, he protected his kids from my grandmother's crueler nature, and kept her in check. She could be a very nasty woman.

So... he wasn't warm or loving and expected his kids to be somewhat self sufficient, but he wasn't the Grade A Asshole my Mom made him out to be. He wasn't a saint by any stretch but he was a decent person who made reasonable demands of his kids.

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

If they don’t then natural selection will do it’s magic.

edit: Now that I thought about it more, I think you're right at the society level. Japan and South Korea have the lowest birth rates and some of the worst incentives for being a husband and father.

Original post:

It seems like there is natural selection on males but not much on females. All a female has to do is keep having one-night stands until there's an "accident". It's the males that can't figure out how to be attractive to women that get eliminated.

Something like 30% of males between ages of 20 and 30 are virgins but only 20% of females.

I forget the numbers from scientists that studied human genetics and found something around 80% of women managed to reproduce but less than 40% of men. The only reason the 80% number is that low was mostly due to dying before reaching adulthood.

in 10,000 B.C. a woman with 3 young kids who drove away her man and tribe was in a pickle and had low chances of survival. Today, that's no longer very much of a risk.

Logically, if you make being a husband and father a bad enough deal, at some point men will simply stop signing up for it. (At least voluntarily, there's still the baby trapping issue.)

At the extreme, I suppose a creative author could imagine a dystopian future where 99% of male fetuses are aborted and only a few are born to be enslaved and used only to fill the sperm bank.

Marriage rates are dropping. Birth rates are dropping. One proposed solution to the Fermi Paradox is that as a society becomes more and more affluent, less and less people are willing to put in the effort it takes to be a parent. At some point the population drops below what is needed to maintain a technological civilization, and the civilization collapses back into hunter/gather society. All the readily available resources that enabled the technological civilization were used up, so it can't ever get restarted.

I'm really trying to figure out what negative feedback loop could work. Like you said, the vast majority of women want children and a husband. Children they can get, either by hooking up or the sperm bank. So that leaves wanting a husband. Marriage rates are down. If the marriage market were similar to the supply and demand of an economic good, then if the demand for husbands was higher than the supply, husbands would be able to ask for more and get it. But it's not a free market. You're not allowed to write your own marriage contract (other than some limited prenuptial options). The government controls the marriage contract. And can change it at any time at that. (Doesn't seem fair to me that people who got married before no-fault divorce had their marriage contract changed on them). You do get to pick though. So if marriage rates dropped to something like 5%, the guys who were willing to get married could probably be pretty picky.

A lot of guys want kids too though. I suppose a guy can try to find someone willing to have kids with him without getting married.

Sorry for the rambling. I've been trying to figure out what negative feedback loop could work, but I haven't been able to come up with much.

edit: Oh I remember another proposed negative feedback loop. The theory goes something like marriage developed independently in multiple civilizations. Pairing up a man to one woman helped motivate men to work harder than polygomous tribes where the leaders took multiple wives, leaving many of the men without one, and were less motivated. The monogamous tribes and civilizations had an economic advantage and out-competed those that didn't. In that case, we only need to look at which parts of humanity have the highest birth rates to have an idea where things are going. Japan seems pretty desperate to figure out how to reverse the trend of more and more men deciding they'd rather just live alone and avoid women rather than get married and have kids. If they don't, their population is going to shrink into nothing.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

and if it keeps going that route society i japan had no one to blame but themselves for pushing a culture that did them no favors in the long run.

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It does seem like Japan is recognizing some of the problems and trying to fix them. One of them being the issue of getting to work before your boss and staying later than him/her results in very long hours at the lowest levels in a company with many layers of management. I thought I remember them putting some legislation that capped hours in the office. It's been a while, so I may be remembering wrong.

It does seem like Japan and South Korea are at the forefront. The guy South Korea elected as president will be interesting to see if that's just a blip or the start of the trend reversing.

Remember years ago when they had that campaign where they had posters/leaflets that said something along the lines of: "Don't do it for him"

That has to be one of the most obvious and blatant man-hating slogans that it was just pathetic.

[–]ABBucsfan 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think each partner should hopefully treat each other with some decency and respect. Generally check in with one another, but not be their damn therapist/counsellor/psychiatrist and fix all their childhood issues. That's essentially what my ex expected. That and be her personal attack dog when she went full Karen.

You're not alone. This is a common trend among men nowadays, and it can be as costly as it is distressing.

The article says:

Q: What us the function of men in women's lives?

A: Reproduction and survival; that’s it. That’s all our function is in your lives.

I'm sorry, but if you dudes agree with this, you should really do some soul-searching. If you've ever had an actual relationship with a woman you would know that things are much deeper and more important than this. The problem is, in my experience, when women feel this way. They often instinctually feel that a man's role is just to support her. And the better a man can support her, the more desirable that man is. This is what's wrong with society. Women thinking this, not men.

[–]Henry_Blair 16 points17 points18 points 4 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

I completely disagree. Both sexes need each other, emotionally, for psychological survival. I know it's very hard for us men to continue to admit this fact about humans when millions of women are incited by a hate movement to show cruelty and hatred toward all men - there is an understandable (and probably necessary) drive to show to women that as long as they indulge in hate and dehumanization they will not receive love, and that if they want to be loved they must abandon a movement devoted to hate and cruelty. But, despite all that, copying the feminist denial of women's need for men's love (by denying men's need for women's love) is playing into the emotional destruction of humanity that feminists lead to with their fundamental emotional lie.

The human truth is, that both sexes depend on each other's love for emotional survival, and because of that, men and women, both need to make each other happy in relationships. There's a third way - which is not reclusive feminism and not contra-reclusion: Lovism. Being for both sexes in the same way at the same time, acknowledging the need of all humans for the love of the other sex, and rejecting the feminist lie that denies this human truth - instead of copying it and thus participating in it and in the psychological destruction it spreads.

Yes, it's hard to express such an attitude under the circumstances, of blatant hate. Women will stop following a hate movement only if they realize they will never receive love in return for distilled hate. But there is a way: men can invite women, to be lovists. To reject feminism in order to have an equality movement meant for both sexes - to get men's support and love, through offering support and love, in lovism, which is simply mutuality, the opposite of both the feminist separatism and the contra-separatism it causes.

What you said will never happen as long as govt is most eager to pander to these feminazi demands and willing to do anything they ask.

And the govt will continue to do so as discrimination against men is one of the most popular way to get popularity and votes from female.

[–]AfraidStop554 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So women are not here to make men happy in relationships either, agreed?

But if two people can’t/won’t make each other happy in a relationship, what’s the point? Just make a legal agreement for reproduction and coparenting and be done with it. Tbh I do think this should be an option for people who want kids but don’t consider themselves “in love” with anyone.

[–]HighestTierMaslow 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, the men in this forum don't think that. They want women to make them happy without the obligation of them having to do the same. They complain women won't reciprocate when they won't either 😄 this place is just an echo chamber of woman haters

[–]Awesomermac 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I really do everything possible to make a woman I am with happy, but I get taken for granted and used.

[–]JoeHero2000[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It can be very easy for a woman to take a man’s attention for granted. If she stops appreciating your attention, stop giving it, immediately.

[–]Pepperclue_55 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Life is too short to act as any animal simply eating shitting and reproducing. If thats fulfilling for you, in guess go for it, but I am here for a good time not a long time haha. I laugh everyday with my partner, we make eachother enourmously happy. There are highs and lows obviously but we are ride or die, and nothing else gives you a sense of security like a partner you can actually count on.

Work on your bitterness folks. And stop being afriad of love and intimacy and trust. It puts the color into this grey world.

Men: Ladies are not here to make you happy in relationships.

Actual answer that is far too mature for this subreddit:

People should strive to make their partner happy and compromise when needed. Relationships are not a power game and shouldnt give an advantage for one person more than the other.

[–]majestic_tapir 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

I just read that blog post. I am not surprised you got backlash, the blog post is dogshit.

You go off as if you're speaking for all men, and you're not. I'm not in a relationship to keep my partner alive, or to reproduce. I'm in a relationship to make myself happy, and to make my partner happy.

This is the most backwards-arse shit blog post i've seen in a while on this subreddit, and it's immensely disappointing to see all these people agreeing with you.

Fucking disgusting.

For real…

This is the shit that we men say to put down other men

”Your not a real man if…” type of shit

Read some of the other blog posts. It's pretty bad.

Take this any way you want, my theory however having read the blog posts, and having seen the gap between the posts:

He was married, got divorced, went into a depression, and came out of it a few years later by blaming women for everything and taking zero accountability, and his blog posts about men (which started 2022, everything before that was recipes and music) very clearly show a bitter person who needs therapy.

Again, all this is conjecture and my own opinion, but I'd argue it fits.

It seems like you have some issues that you need to deal with.

I am perfectly able to criticise someone who has gone down the wrong path, it is not my duty to fix him, that is up to him. The best I can do is point out a couple of things:

1 - This is not representative of men's rights. It is representative of a toxic view about men and women.

2 - This person has issues that they need to deal with. It is up to this person to deal with them.

I will pick on someone's arguments if they are claiming they are speaking for all men whilst spewing vitriol. OP has done exactly that, he's claimed to be speaking about scientific aspects that have no real basis in fact, and is giving all men a bad name by doing so.

I am well within my rights to criticise that, and I have exercised that right.

As for you, I'm very glad that you're dealing with it, as so far you've not been able to get your point across without use of caps lock and insults, which is a very poor way of communicating.

OP absolutely is the problem, so I will very happily sit here and say he's the problem. Some bad stuff may have happened to him in the past, but he does not have the right to spew hatred and not get called out for it when he does so. I also had quite poor experiences when I was younger, and I was called out for it at the time. Instead of shouting and screaming, I listened, and I got the help I needed.

He is claiming to speak on behalf of all. So yes, he is speaking for you if you're supporting him.

I have plenty of sympathy for the issues of other people, again as I said, as long as it is not spewing hatred, like this poster is. I'm certainly sympathetic if my theory is right, but I'm also not going to tolerate hatred.

I'm incredibly understanding of people's issues. I will not stand for hatred under the guise of "well I went through some stuff". Hatred is not an acceptable response mechanism. Anger certainly is, and anger can be directed and managed. Hatred and vitriol cannot.

I am in fact attempting to make people's lives better even with these points, but you're so focused on an emotional response that you can't see that.

Pointing out that someone is approaching a topic from a bitter and jaded position is not a bad thing. It can highlight both to those reading, and to the person writing, that there are issues that need to be dealt with on an individual level, not at a societal level.

It's not hard to find evidence of biological fathers literally doing nothing to help their children and the mother of their children.

This is just some opinion piece made by an adult male that possesses zero emotional maturity.

Yeah ok but ........ neither partner should be treated like a therapist tasked with "fixing" your problems. I get this from non-romantic relationships like with my father and other family members. I go to therapy. When they talk to me, they feel safe and I give good advice because I utilize techniques I learned in therapy. But I really wish they would just go see a licensed therapist and not put that emotional baggage on me so much.

I hadn't read that particular post before this because I didn't want to re-live certain emotions .... but I did go read it just now and I see your point. I think that person has been through a lot of pain and was venting and taking it out on a comment that wasn't malicious. I hate to see the vitriol on both sides toward the opposite sex.

I personally don't talk to random men because I have experienced harassment in the past over it. So I get why the two x poster was reliving that trauma ..... However. I think the original comment was meant to ask women to be more aware and considerate of the men already in their lives, and didn't deserve that kind of backlash.

Well, I didn't think people needed a detailed explanation as to how men are involved in the reproductive process, so here goes:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Male_reproductive_system

[–]majestic_tapir 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

There is no science in your blog post whatsoever.

[–]JoeHero2000[S] -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

There's no science in your reply, either.

[–]majestic_tapir 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

I never claimed for there to be. If you're claiming that it's a scientific view, back it up with scientific studies. Or can you not, because your viewpoint is using outdated concepts like alpha, beta and sigma male?

[–]JoeHero2000[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Well, in case you don't believe the part about men being instrumental in reproduction:

https://www.webmd.com/sex-relationships/guide/male-reproductive-system

[–]majestic_tapir 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

...I can't tell if you're being obtuse on purpose.

I'm referring to the part about men's sole purpose in a relationship being to protect and reproduce. That may have been the case tens of thousands of years ago, it may even have been the case as much as a thousand years ago.

It is not the case now. We actually have been evolving this whole time, making the assertion that men are just reproductive and protective machines is a backwards concept.

[–]JoeHero2000[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Tell that to every man reading this who has ever had their marriages or long-term relationships abruptly terminated against their will because of a woman's "feelings". Tell this to every man who has permanently lost access to their children because of their mother's quest for "happiness". Tell it to every man who has ever been dragged through the family court system and forced to dole out half of his income and assets, simply because he "failed" to keep his woman emotionally satisfied.

I am a woman, and I cook and clean and help my partner withbhis buisness by running the numbers and doing the soft mangering skills stuff. I remember the doctors appointments and get the tp when we are out. I spoil him and make him feel loved everyday, as he does me.

Not sure how else to put it: we care for eachother.

[–]Obsidian_Koilz 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh absolutely 💯. We both do. We compliment one another. His dork to my geek.

I advise compatibility, goals and values, morals, drive, and the joy derived from just spending time with that person... as indicators for relationship sustainability.

And honestly Gents, if a woman is with you for you... she feels joy and happiness already. Spending time with someone you love is happiness in itself.

That's not to say that there won't be times of anger, sadness, and disillusionment... and your intentions may not be solely to 'make her happy'. But if you're her cup o tea, she's going to be happy being with you.

And let's face it, you guys love that. It hits you in the chest when you can see her heart in her eyes when she looks at you. I know it hits me, when he looks at me like that. 🥰🥰🥰

[–]miraak2077 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

well i think men should make women happy and women make men happy. isn't a big point of relationships to make each other happy??

[–]JoeHero2000[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually no, they're not. All social relationships are based on Maslowe's Hierarchy of Needs: food, water, shelter, sex. That is what I mean by survival. It takes at least one of those basic instinctive needs to draw people to each other. Emotions such as happiness, etc., are merely outward expressions of those needs being met.

[–]Aww-lina 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Lol, this was on r/nothowgirlswork. I love MRM but you guys…. Really?

[–]JoeHero2000[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Wow! I must have really struck a chord for people to actually share my article. I know why it's making a lot of women (and a few men) mad. It's basically the equivalent of challenging someone's religion. I've basically taken a belief system that many women and men hold dear, and told them all "No, you're wrong". I'm not expecting to change anybody's minds with what I said. All I can do is hope that it helps inform their relationship goals a little bit more.

[–]Aww-lina -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

You didn’t strike any chords, people post on that subreddit to out people who have nothing in their brain. You should read the comments on that post. I think a woman should try her best to make a man happy in a relationship, and vice versa. Your way of thinking for a lot of people is most likely very strange and unhealthy.

Edit: Here’s the post https://www.reddit.com/r/NotHowGirlsWork/comments/v6zmp9/when_the_bar_has_fallen_so_low_its_in_a_crater_now/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

[–]JoeHero2000[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Actually, it's the other way around. People have become so comfortable and complacent in their lives, that they have forgotten the real reasons relationships exist in the first place, and they have begun to seriously take them for granted.

[–]Aww-lina 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

I think your definition of a relationship is very different from what many people think it should be. Your definition seems more about making a legacy and reproduction while I think majority of people want to be happy and loved within a relationship.

[–]JoeHero2000[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Historically, legacy and reproduction is exactly what marriage was, and still is, for:

Marriage

The idea of marriage and relationships based on emotion is a fairly recent event in human history.

Love and Marriage History

Marriage based on emotion doesn't exactly have a positive track record. At least 50% of marriages end in divorce, and over 70% of divorces are filed by women.

Divorce rates

[–]Aww-lina 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Yeah and a lot of things back then we’re very different in all aspects of life. If you think marriages based on solely reproduction and legacy will work out, you will be mistaken. It’s human to have emotions and wants/needs. I bet if you married a shrieking feminist, you would not want to be with her because of how conflicting and angry and every other shitty aspect a feminist brings. But you have to reproduce and protect your legacy, right? No reason for that to bother you. /s

[–]JoeHero2000[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

I'm not denying that emotions are part of a relationship. I'm just pointing out that emotions shouldn't be the main driving point of one.

Speaking of feminism, I've been born and raised in a world of feminism, my entire life. My mother was the epitome of a strong, independent woman, which unfortunately resulted in her being unable to function in a marriage or a long-term relationship. After she left my father, he remarried a more traditional-values woman, and the two remained together 'til death do us part. She remained at my father's side until the day he died, 12 years ago. My mother, on the other hand, was never able to hold on to anyone, man or woman, afterwards. She is now living alone, incredibly bitter, and extremely miserable. So is my grandmother, who was also a strong feminist. So is my sister, who was raised by my mom to be a strong, feminist woman. The legacy of feminism is that people, whether male or female, who espouse feminist values are more than 80% likely to die alone.

[–]Aww-lina 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

You’re literally explaining my point. If emotions shouldn’t be the driving force and reproduction is, why wouldn’t you marry a crazy feminist if all that matters is reproduction?

Edit: It’s because you share different values and ideologies. You wouldn’t work well with them. Your logic and emotions about things and towards one another would affect your relationship .

[–]JoeHero2000[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The whole point of feminism is to further the empowerment of women.....at the expense of men. I've never met a feminist who could validate her life or accomplishments without also having to downplay, denigrate, insult, or bash men in the process.

Only women can afford to marry and/or build relationships based primarily on emotion. Men can't do that. From our point of view, it has to be based on the mutual survival of the family, first and foremost. A woman can exit a relationship or terminate a marriage with little to no financial consequences. If a man does that, however, he runs the risk of losing half of his income, half of his assets, and custody of his children in the process. The family court system favors women far more than it does men. Anytime a man enters into a relationship with a woman, he has no choice but to approach it as a business transaction and a family legacy matter, or else he could end up broke and homeless as a result.
