Women have been telling men to jump, and men have been saying “how high,” for a long time. Bullshit. That's what men are expected to do now, and have been expected to do since forever ago, and it doesn't seem to be working out for a lot of us. If women aren't interested, we take the blame for getting in her face, ruining her day, intruding in her headspace, as though we're demanding her time, her body, but we're forced to do that because women so often don't bother to make the moves the other way around.

What you're suggesting is already true, and now proving to be problematic. If women are meant to be strong and independent, modern and free-thinking, why not approach men more? This is supposed to be a society striving for equality, so why is it still (almost) exclusively men's responsibility to shoulder the burden of being the instigator, the bearer of rejection, the social and legal risk-taker, the emotional rock, the financial provider?

Men are looking for superficial ways to win over women because women are letting themselves be won over easily in the form of having immediate casual sex with certain men. Almost all men want to be that man, not “relationship man” who has to wait for sex.

Therefore, it’s up to the women who ultimately want relationships more to make the first move and stop having “empowering” casual sex so easily. It’s not empowering women at all. Instead, it’s making men want to use them, as such behavior from women plays right into the polygynous male imperative.

Women literally change how they want to be treated based off of the status/looks of the man in question. What step are men supposed to be making here? Women do not find the vast majority of men as suitable for relationships. They don't even really like the men they're with, they like the slot (rapper/businessman/drug dealer) he takes up in society and the perks she sometimes gets to enjoy with it.

You know, a pretty significant amount of the men who are in places like this have taken that first step over and over and over and over and once it was women's turn, the women spat in their face and ran away only to come back a little later to ask them to take another "first" step only to do the same thing.

That cycle repeated a bunch of times until eventually their spirit broke and they refused to take the "first" step...at which point women used their refusal to take the "first" step(for the thousandth time) as a justification for why men aren't entitled to women taking a single step.

You're being vague on this 'treat them like ppl' tenant.

I treat women like people. I believe that women tend to know very fast if they want to sleep with a man or are attracted to him. I also believe that thanks to cultural norms, women also are mindful of the feelings belonging to everyone they interact with so as to generally avoid any negative confrontation. Consequently if you aren't proactive in just getting to the point, you stand to lose a lot of time on the wrong "people" if you aren't up front and clear with them.

The "superficial' qualities you describe, whether they're a take no prisoners attitude, looks/status/money, etc., are quite simply --- the stuff that DELIVERS RESULTS.

"Treating women like people" if meant as 'treat them like a friend,' or meant as 'treat them like ohyarly and get to no as fast as possible' delivers MORE REJECTION, not less.

As far as I've read, the evidence suggests humans lived polygynously, like less extreme chimpanzees. So a lot of men were likely going without and sticking around because leaving the group meant dying alone in the bush.
