Whenever I bring up men's rights and get questioned on it, I freeze up and struggle to put forth the obvious points we all know (mostly out of fear of judgement) what are some quick facts / points I can use do outline what it's like to be a man in 2022

An entire generation of men are being psychologically damaged in the name of feminism. Shameful

[–]mixing_saws 33 points34 points35 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And then they victimblame these psychologically damaged men, by calling their resulting behaviour "toxic masculinity". Vicious cycle.

[–]Alarming_Draw 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This has got to stop-what can we do?

[–]ifisch -4 points-3 points-2 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

75% of domestic partner homicides, in Australia, involve the man killing the woman.

You can play around with all of the other statistics, but murder is murder. You can't really fake that.

https://www.anrows.org.au/media-releases/two-new-reports-contribute-invaluable-data-to-what-we-know-about-intimate-partner-homicide-in-australia/

That seems like a bigger problem then whatever psychological damage you think boys might feel from being told not to be violent.

[–]denisc9918 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Do you seriously think that men with NO "psychological damage" murder their partners?

[–]ifisch -4 points-3 points-2 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

So your theory is that all these men have been killing women in Australia because of a new policy, they just came up with, to teach young boys to be less violent?

That makes a lot of sense.

[–]denisc9918 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You didn't answer my question.

but I'm done interacting with you.. cya

[–]Nightstalkerjoe2 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Again ifisch is being disingenuous and dumb does he not know that domestic violence is mostly reciprocal and maybe men not having domestic violence shelters like women is the cause for more killings? Since in the past before the 70s when domestic violence shelters for women were first established spousal killings were roughly equal, and also his really sickening and dumb point that it’s ok to run campaigns as if boys are problem I guess he would be ok with programs telling woman. Not to abuse or kill children or not to be violent as well since they do it at way higher rates then men, since women make up 70% of the perpetrators in non reciprocal violent relationships

[–]denisc9918 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The "Dunning-Kruger effect" is rampant on reddit... LOL

To be fair tho, not many people know any of what you've just stated. It's not talked about at all.

[–]Alarmed-Ad68711 points 3 years ago [recovered] (36 children) | Copy Link

Please go on. I’m interested to learn from you and discover how this is happening?

[–]AchtzehnVonSchwefel 62 points63 points64 points 3 years ago (31 children) | Copy Link

In case you didn't know, constantly yelling at someone and telling them they are a bad person, causes psychological problems.

[–]Alarmed-Ad68711 points 3 years ago [recovered] (30 children) | Copy Link

Who said anything about yelling?

[–]AchtzehnVonSchwefel 39 points40 points41 points 3 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link

Even without the yelling, telling somebody that they are a piece of garbage, useless, arsehole, and a menace to society, causes psychological trauma.

It's like an abusive parent, but you can't run away when you're 18.

Also, you don't seem to have been yelled at by the feminists. I have been a subject to that, and it doesn't feel good.

[–]Alarmed-Ad68711 points 3 years ago [recovered] (13 children) | Copy Link

Im sorry you’ve experienced such treatment. Are you able to communicate who is being told those things and when it’s happening?

[–]AchtzehnVonSchwefel 34 points35 points36 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

If I refuse to do it, it's called the effects of toxic masculinity on young men.

If I do it, it'll be ammo for the likes of you to use against me in arguements.

[–]Alarmed-Ad68711 points 3 years ago [recovered] (7 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately I’m not sure I understand

"Please wake me up! I'm pretending I'm asleep."

[–]gafgone5 15 points16 points17 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Gotta be pretty damn dense to not understand what we're talking about here. Boys and young men all over are being taught that any natural feelings they experience are inherently bad, simply because of what's between their legs. It's happened to me, it's happened to countless other males I've met. We're being taught as a whole that men cannot approach women without being interpreted as "creepy" and in the same breath women are blaming men for THEM not being able to find a romantic partner. Women get their self-worth massively inflated during their younger years and are taught to never give the time of day to someone who's imperfect, which is everyone. These patterns have, do and will always damage somebody's psyche, no matter what you are.

[–]Alarmed-Ad6871 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Bit rich to call me dense when i asked for sources to look into specific allegations and received a message which seemed to me entirely unrelated.

Would love to know what you mean by “natural feelings”?

Id like it express that im all for equal rights, but im not really big on making blind assertions re the way men are treated, and things said to young children, without any evidence to back it up.

it should absolutely be addressed but if theres no evidence of it happening to any prominent degree then it seems alot more like this is an incubator for breeding opinions that men are under attack without any evidence for that being the case

[–]Reasonable_cancelCA 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men receive odd passive aggressive verbal abuse on the daily from weird leftists and damaged feminists.. some women can appreciate a man for what he is and simply leave it alone.

We're not acting any different than what nature intended, it is the lefties and progressives who are wholly unnatural and offensive to common sense...

[–]Angryasfk 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If you want an example, how about this?

https://7news.com.au/news/education/outrage-after-brauer-college-in-warrnambool-forces-boys-to-apologise-to-female-students-for-sexism-c-2436295.amp

[–]Alarmed-Ad68711 points 3 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Its a really good example, not only because the actions are deplorable and clearly shouldn’t have happened the way they did but also because the entire media coverage surrounding it was outrage against the treatment of people being forced to apologise for their gender.

It only serves to prove that society isnt out to get men, obviously there are individuals who are, but it also highlights how when such things happen there is widespread outrage

[–]Angryasfk 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You forget that this is the tip of the iceberg. There was a rush of similar stories: from the council “social worker” telling white Christian boys that they were oppressors to the female teacher who barged into a boys changing room to say they sounded like a pack of testosterone fuelled misogynists because she decided they celebrated a win too loudly!

Plus the Principal got support from some parents, did not apologise to the kids, they sent back a self justifying “note” to parents explaining how “positive” the whole thing was but that “in retrospect” the apology whilst “well meant” was “inappropriate in the circumstances”. And she’s still in the position. They didn’t even transfer her, despite the lack of apology or any real remorse.

And this kind of thing happens a lot in schools. I got it from my “teacher” in my last year of Primary School, and things weren’t as slanted against males then. I’ve no doubt it’s much worse now.

You also claimed that “no one” was saying this stuff. Well they are. Including those given the responsibility and put in charge of boys. This became news because the parents were able to get the media interested in it. How many cases do you suppose pass unremarked?

men are pigs

-Australian national television

They made boys kneel in front of the girls and promise they'll never hurt them in elementary schools. The girls didn't have to make such vows.

But I guess you can't wake someone who is pretending to be asleep.

And please stop brigading our subreddit.

men are pigs

-Australian national television

I genuinely can't find this anywhere. I just googled exactly what you wrote, and came up with nothing, so apologies if I'm just missing it. Can you provide a link maybe?

They made boys kneel in front of the girls and promise they'll never hurt them in elementary schools. The girls didn't have to make such vows.

This happened in one school (and it wasn't an elementary school) and there was backlash about it immediately. The school made a statement acknowledging it was inappropriate. If anything, the response to this single incident shows that most people aren't ok with these kinds of lessons.

[–]AchtzehnVonSchwefel 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The fact that it can happen, and there is a teacher and a principal that could come up with sth like this, is enough reason for me.

And the radical feminists have to convince themselves and more importantly the public that things like this aren't their end goal, despite all the evidence pointing the opposite direction.

And, link: https://youtu.be/X1rbtc5GHDw

I can't wake you up if you're pretending to be asleep.

[–]Lumpy_Constellation 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And the fact that everyone besides that teacher and principal immediately said it was wrong and the school acknowledged it was wrong, is enough reason for me to think that it's not the culture-wide problem you present it to be. If this is the end goal for radical feminists, they are losing handily.

You claimed that it's a constant barrage of this kind of thing, then tried to prove that point by making it sound as if a bunch of schools are doing this and no one cares even though that's inaccurate.

Even the link you posted is just random sound bites stitched together, the "men are pigs" thing appears to be one woman on an opinion segment of a news show! I would bet literally any amount of money that if that clip had been allowed to go on for 15 seconds longer we would've seen an angry reaction and immediate rebuttal to her, bc just like the school thing most people aren't ok with this kind of shit and they don't let it fly. But the person who edited those clips together knew that they couldn't show that and stoke the kind of outrage they wanted to.

The only person pretending here is you.

[–]Angryasfk 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It was a weak response. The Principal didn’t apologise to the kids at the next assembly. The school sent out a self justifying note to parents (not the kids, as they didn’t mean it), and she’s still in place. They didn’t even transfer her despite failing to actually apologise.

And this was just one of a number of incidents in Australian schools over several weeks. These others happened despite the publicity of the first.

And this doesn’t include the deliberate favouring of girls and maltreatment of boys by teachers that’s now common.

  • The male students at a high school in Victoria were made to stand and apologise for the behaviour of their gender at an assembly

  • The Bench Book on Family Violence from the Judicial College of Victoria states in no uncertain terms that men cannot be victims of said violence, and if they are they brought it on themselves

I think there is healthy violence.

[–]dw87190 113 points114 points115 points 3 years ago (59 children) | Copy Link

Aussie here. Can confirm that feminism has pretty much broken Australia. Doesn't help that a lot of Aussie men nowadays are goon addicts and willing victims to female supremacy. There isn't much hope for us left here. Australia does not care about violence against men and does not care to hold female perpetrators accountable. The only cop I ever tried to speaking to about my abusive ex actually laughed at me. We are not ok here

[–]Angryasfk 42 points43 points44 points 3 years ago (44 children) | Copy Link

I got told the police in my state were actually given minimum numbers of DV arrests the needed to make: guess who that applied to.

[–]dw87190 43 points44 points45 points 3 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

Doesn't surprise me. Reminds me of an MRA in one of these subs who told us about how when he was a cop in the 80s, he was told by his superior officers that whenever he was called to a DV situation, he was required to have a man in handcuffs, regardless of the merits of the situation. He was commenting about a post on the Duluth Model, if I remember right

[–]gafgone5 25 points26 points27 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's scary reading the duluth model and having every point be accurate except for the pronouns

[–]dw87190 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks to the Duluth model, we can now be abused and be scapegoated for it too! Hooray for the mythical patriarchy! /s

[–]Angryasfk 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ah the Duluth Model! And the biggest “joke” is that their website tries to claim it isn’t based on feminist theory! Yet the basis for it is that men commit DV to maintain dominance over women, and that we are all “socialised” into doing this by, you guessed it, the patriarchy! Which is why female DV offenders are NEVER dealt with by the Duluth Model.

But seriously, the model is based on the idea that wife beaters (and any man who so much as says boo to a woman) are “enforces of the patriarchy”. How could it be any more based on “feminist theory” (more accurately, feminist delusions).

[–]Alarmed-Ad68711 points 3 years ago [recovered] (39 children) | Copy Link

This is an odd angle imo. I think you’ll find that the police having such a quota doesn’t really make any difference in terms of artificially inflating how many DV offenders their are. Firstly they would have to either witness a crime of have a crime reported to them to arrest someone (they dont get to just arrest whomever fancies them because of quotas) and if someone is arrested they will only be charged if the prosecution believes there is ample evidence to warrant the use of resources on such a charge and then they will only be convicted if there is sufficient and appropriate evidence that the alleged offender is guilty.

What quotas do in this instance is force police to be active on some of the most prevalent and urgent criminal matters that occur - given the number of people that are involved in domestic abuse it’s probably not the worst that the police are actively involved in protecting people who are vulnerable

[–]sakura_drop 27 points28 points29 points 3 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

The Duluth Model is practiced in Australia, which frames DV as a form of "patriarchal terrorism" and automatically presumes guilt on the part of the man.

Hot take to suggest the entire justice system, which is primarily male, would be biased against men. But go off queen 💅💅

[–]BillyDeanMorgan 24 points25 points26 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"But go off queen 💅💅" Sounds to me like you are attempting to emasculate a man who you disagree with. Smells like sexism to me.

Also, men receive longer sentences for the same crime than do women. Studies in abundance. So your attempt to assume that because the justice system is predominantly male and therefore cannot be sexist against men, falls flat on its face.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentencing_disparity#:~:text=Starr%20from%20University%20of%20Michigan,from%20US%20federal%20court%20cases.

[–]sakura_drop 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm a lady, actually, but I wouldn't be surprised if this disingenuous individual assumed I was a man judging by their bizarre rebuttal.

Re. the justice system, here is a compilation someone made of several articles and news items relating to the matter from the UK, Europe, Australia, and the US. There are numerous instances going back a fair few years of calls for even more leniency on female criminals or the outright abolishment of women's prisons altogether.

[–]MixtureSufficient956 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men have a competitive biases towards each other but a lot of us view women in the same light we view children. As needing protection and there are a lot of white knights in the justice system.

Not really. What about attournys, cops, n the like. Plus you are assuming that males have a positive in group bias. You need to prove that as well.

I'm trying to respond directly to what you said but for some reason I can't see your other comment anymore but are you sure that's a group bias with the low male feminists and high mras that easily could just be for personal gain male feminists want to get laid mras want to get laid and not go to jail for a rape they didn't commit cause she regretted it

" I think you’ll find that the police having such a quota doesn’t really make any difference in terms of artificially inflating how many DV offenders their are"

This is all conjecture on your part. You have zero clue whether this is the case or not. Instead you insist on your perspective, which you try to disguise as fact, so as to derail any conversation that may arise regarding discriminatory practices against men.

Gaslighting

[–]CrowMagpie 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Not to mention how self-contradictory the statement you quoted is. Having a quota of arrests would, by its nature, have to inflate arrests. (If the arrests happened naturally there wouldn't be any need for said quota.)

[–]Angryasfk 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly!

[–]Alarmed-Ad6871 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

This is a very interesting opinion. Do you think it’s impossible that quotas are in place to prevent inaction on the part of the police?

Especially given how prolific dv is among police officers it wouldn’t seem unlikely that many officers would turn a blind eye to it if given the chance

Do you think it’s impossible that quotas are in place to prevent inaction on the part of the police?

I see the sense in that, but having a minimum arrest quota for a particular crime means that you have to arrest X number of people in a time period for that time. But what happens when X people haven't committed that crime, and the cop still needs to make those arrests?

[–]Alarmed-Ad68711 points 3 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

This is all conjecture on your part. You have zero clue whether this is the case or not. Instead you insist on your perspective, which you try to disguise as fact, so as to derail any conversation that may arise

Isn't this, like, the entire premise of this sub though? Someone posts a link that amounts to "this new law makes it illegal to grab a titty in the workplace" and y'all just show up in droves talking about how this is the end of flirting and men are gonna get arrested just for looking at women now? Jumping to conclusions with no evidence, presenting them as facts, and derailing anyone who tries to point out you're wrong by accusing them of being man-haters?

Four fingers pointing back at you, I suppose.

[–]Angryasfk 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

What rot. I’ve never seen anyone here complain they can’t “grab a titty in the workplace”. Yes some complaints here are a bit precious (although hardly worse than many of the constant feminist moans - “mansplaining”????). But physically groping someone in a “sensitive” place and in the workplace? Never ever seen anyone excuse that one. You can argue whether it should be criminal, but a disciplinary/dismissal offence, I doubt you get any disagreement here.

The original comment made no sense. There would be no point in fixing arrest quotas unless those giving the directive believed that it would substantially increase the numbers and look good. The Mark Pearson case is evidence of where this can lead.

[–]Lumpy_Constellation 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, it was a joke about the response in here when street and workplace harassment were discussed. The joke being that this kind of harassment is usually very obvious (like groping is), but the response in here was "everything is seen as harassment now and men will be too scared to even talk to women bc they'll immediately be arrested" as if it was all so ambiguous.

[–]Angryasfk 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That’s true though. You don’t know anyone who would claim she’s being “harassed” because he’s “looking at me the wrong way”? The “believe all women” mantra would have her a undoubted victim of harassment would it not? The concerns are not misplaced.

[–]Lumpy_Constellation 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You don’t know anyone who would claim she’s being “harassed” because he’s “looking at me the wrong way”?

No. I don't. I doubt many people do, and even fewer people know anyone who's actually been arrested for harassment. I do know people who've been harassed and never reported it though, which is a far more likely scenario.

This is what I'm talking about though. Conjecture. Dramatization. Exaggeration.

[–]Angryasfk 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually I do know a woman who made such claims. So it’s not “conjecture”.

[–]Angryasfk 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

One: how can you set a quota for arrests? That’s the sort of directive Stalin gave to his secret police to instill terror. You can do no more than estimate the number of offences you “think” will occur.

Two: have you read about the Mark Pearson case? The evidence used to identify him clearly showed he had no case to answer. Yet he was arrested, charged and put to a trial! What is more the evidence was doctored to give the impression that he might have had time by slowing down the CCTV footage. This was probably done to see if anything happened originally, but the slowed footage was presented to court as if it were in real time. Heads should have rolled for that, as that’s conspiracy to pervert the course of justice! Now, do you honestly think that they would have done that were it not for needing to fill “quotas”?

Three: quotas would clearly mean that low level events turn into arrests, and are the sort of thing that would lead to male victims of female DV being arrested as it removes all discretion from the attending officers. You only have to touch a woman with the palm of your hand for it to be classified as DV. So being seen trying to hold back a woman flailing at you could be seen as DV with evidence. Enforcing quotas may well put the police in the position that they are compelled to arrest the guy!

And finally, if it makes no difference, why have them? You’re not going to claim that quotas in employment makes no difference are you?

[–]Alarmed-Ad68711 points 3 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Police have quotas for driving offences. That doesn’t mean they can manufacture offenders.

Quotas are a means of ensuring certain prevalent issues that are largely overlooked are given priority

[–]Angryasfk 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Really? I’ll give you an example on that one. In the southern reaches of my city is a suburb/town (it was always a separate town, but with urban sprawl it’s now really a suburb and has the suburban railway line now extending to it). There are a number of speed limit changes on the main highway passing through: it goes from 60kph up to 80kph and then back again. Cases I know of had a cop with a speed gun standing at the 60kph sign pointing the radar up into the 80kph zone and booking them for exceeding the 60kph limit (the zone where he was standing). It’s unethical, and if the driver was able to present evidence it would fail in front of a Magistrate. But he’d get away with it because most of his victims don’t have a camera rolling, and it’s more hassle (and possibly cost) to go to court over a relatively low level speeding fine than simply pay the unjustified infringement notice. This is a result of the policeman having to “fill his quotas”!

And given that the idea of these quotas is that they’re supposedly going to reduce the offending rates, if it really works, how are the quotas going to be filled in the medium term anyway?

[–]denisc9918 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

have a crime reported to them to arrest someone (they dont get to just arrest whomever fancies them because of quotas)

Not sure what world you live in...

The NSW Police Chief before the current one ordered that if a man is accused of any sexual <type> thing charges are to be laid. No discretion by the on the scene police is allowed.

ie; If you show the officers video proof that she's lying <shrug> bad luck, you get charged.

So automatically you are going to be at the very least financially penalised if she lied!

Your whole stupid comment screams 'academic with no real world experience'.

Aussie here too.. for me... we are the most cucked/feminised 'woke' pro-feminist society out of all the west. It's realllll bad here. Don't even get me started on the women lol. Good luck finding a lass at the age of 25 without at least 50 partners (not even kidding).

It goes (worst countries in the west)

  1. australia
  2. new zealand
  3. uk
  4. US

We hear a lot about how bad the U.S. is online and elsewhere when it comes to feminism and woke etc.. but just because you hear about it more doesn't make it that bad. Gotta remember.. we had feminists trying to push 'female only' train carriages and that one crazy feminist openly hating on men on twitter (not banned of course) and saying things like all men must die and no one cared. All that applies to other western countries (school, college, divorce, promiscuity, etc.. happens here and even worse)

100% agree. Go to any Aussie sub and call out the real problems in society and other Aussie blokes will downvote you into oblivion

[–]nomancelad 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

yep... but also gotta remember that's reddit too (extremely left/woke bs platform). In saying that.. a lot of aussies do actually use reddit a lot and is somewhat representative of the aussie society/culture (depends on your own real life experience and who you 'hang' with and what avenue of employment you find yourself in.. for example, corporate is trash... tradies/blue collar are still masculine to some extent but it is being fazed out slower with more and more 'feminine/cucked' men and appeasement of woke/feminist laws).

Anyway.. for illustrative purposes enjoy the linked video. Not so much about the 2 women cops being pathetic (and they are LOL) but it speaks to the double standards for employment and passing tests etc... but the media and the boss man of the police - how they speak and frame the situation is EXTREMELY telling.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI4Ee0JhxYs&ab_channel=7NEWSAustralia

p.s. read the comments LOL

[–]Angryasfk 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Individual issues vary across those countries (and within too - I suspect Victoria is the worst state currently). For example, we’re better in the US on child support. You don’t have to go to court if you’re employment changes (you get made redundant, or your hours are cut) to change the assessment. It also will modify it if you have subsequent children with other women (unlike in the US where the child with marriage one is privileged and subsequent children don’t count) and they will reduce it proportionately to the time the child is in your care. Not saying there aren’t issues with it (especially the Family Court system that’s behind awarding of custody), but it is much fairer than the US system.

I don’t doubt that on balance your ranking is likely true though, although I’m not so sure about Jacinta’s New Zealand at present.

[–]nomancelad 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I mean, yeahh this is just my opinion and it's biased because I only know (from first hand experience) Aus. By no way am I saying this is definitive lol just giving my view...

I will agree that NZ is righttttttttt behind AUS if not 'the worst'. Again.. I went with AUS because of bias/personal experiences/most knowledge and care factor is about aus for me, etc. NZ will be a good shout for top spot though... in fact, any of the 4 I can see/find reasons for them.

[–]Angryasfk 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I don’t particularly disagree with you. It’s worth remembering that we are better than the US in some ways.

But things are bad here. Those explicitly anti-male DV ads; the anti-male attacks in schools; the deliberate discrimination in employment which is held to be legal, even laudable (in fact you’re “discriminatory” if you don’t discriminate against men apparently). I could go on, but this is as much as I can stomach at the moment.

[–]nomancelad 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah I agree.. in some aspects each of the nations have better or worse things about them. For example, I'd say that marriage/divorce is probably worse in the U.S. than here. Meanwhile.. our media (aus/nz) is probably worse than the U.S. due to not having the opposition to it or if there is.. it's not as prominent or voiced. Take the different standards for men and women in military in the U.S... you have one side (let's say cnn/left) voicing one side and then the other (fox/right) voicing the other and they are both quite large bases. Here in Aus/NZ the 'fox/right' side isn't nearly as big or equal to the 'woke/cnn' side.

I just want to point out I am not on either side (cnn vs fox or left vs right).. I'm trying to make the point that a healthy society has 2 equal or opposing sides combating their ideas and thoughts with fair exposure, consideration and thought. We just don't really have that here.. I guess you can say 'sky news' is the fox over here typically but the voice and exposure that 'that side' gets in 'mainstream media' is demonised, mocked, shunned etc. All you hear and what is played/promoted is the woke/cnn stance (for the most part). Try bringing up any opposition to some crazy feminist ideas (like separate train carriages for women like mark latham did on TV)... the usual 'misogynist, insecure, bigot, patriarchy shaming language was the response. They painted him and titled him as x, y or z based on OPPOSING their view/stance.. not on the arguments.. and that's what people see... people demonising and shaming the 'other side' rather than the argument and most people are sheep and just go along with it, etc.

[–]Angryasfk 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I know exactly what you mean, and I agree. Also our Sky news is pay TV, not free to air, and so has a much smaller audience as a result. A big difference to the American Fox.

I'm only replying this way, because since I've joined this thread, I have 100% agreed on every post I've seen or responded to, but I disagree with this response.

The single fact that you wrote good luck finding a lass with less than 50 partners, means that you believe who or how many people a woman sleeps with should be controlled. You aren't owed or due a woman with a certain sexual history. Same goes for a woman. If you aren't attracted to what is around you, that is completely fair and your choice, but you can't get angry that what your attracted too isn't just sitting there waiting for you.

I also disagree with Australia being the worst. I live in the US and the majority of men here have already passed the anger and aggression of losing the same benefits their fathers were promised from society. Men from Gen Z here have almost fully adapted in my opinion.

I live on rational logic, regardless of my own choices. In the US I feel feminism has now gotten extreme (when people (man or woman) are given what they want, they keep asking until told no). By your response and these posts, Australia is only beginning this. I just want to say you will get more fustrated before it gets better.

[–]nomancelad 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

When did I express anger to the partner thing? I stated what I perceived to be happening and implied that is not what I WANT (like you said because I stated it so clearly it's something I look for/deem important in my partner). You can miss me completely with the whole 'control who sleeps around or what they do'. That is projection and mischaracterisation of what I said (or implied). Most men prefer a less promiscuous woman in general and for the most part.. that's 'duh 101' - I fit into that category. Do you really think most men will take seriously or wife or make a mother out of a stripper, only fans girl, a prostitute, a pornstar?.

I will re-iterate - I am not saying to do, or not to do (in regards to sex for any gender/person). I could not care less. I care when it comes to MY PARTNER. So again... don't misconstrue my post about what I, personally, deem 'cool' or not cool (i.e. 50 partners at the age of 25 for a woman) as me wanting to control or make all women virgins or some shit. The person who has all the options to cheat BUT doesn't.. is more faithful than the person who has no options to cheat and is faithful. I apply the same logic and place value to women too. Women in general have all the options to sleep around (men approach them, easy to get laid, etc) so FOR ME, a woman who doesn't is more valuable as a partner for MYSELF than a woman who sleeps around with a lot of people for 'fun'. Your views may differ and so be it.

To the U.S. being worse.. I agree that we are both biased. It shouldn't surprise you that I, from Australia, say Australia is worse and you (from the U.S.) say the U.S. is worse. Clearly we are biased and our own personal experiences are impacting both our views to some extent or another. I will concede and am willing to admit that I could very well be wrong and the U.S. has it worse.

[–]thegreatesthumphrey 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Totally get that. I wouldn't even pretend that If I were a man I wouldn't want a stripper etc, and 50 by 25 is a lot. People aren't attracted to say, overweight people, and that is valid too. I think women who manipulate men for gain are of low value, as well as women who are incapable of standing up for themselves, the latter being the fault of her upbringing.

The following are my thoughts on the topic, not a response directed towards you, as I assume you were generally referring to the above.

A lot of women in the past have gone their entire lives without ever experiencing an orgasm, because of being with the first or second man they date, that they find out later won't really try to help them get there... Just wouldn't wish that on anyone. These days that scenario usually ends in divorce with hurt children. I'd take the relationship, sex, and life experience allowing me to know my commitment (or the man's) will last through the years, so our family stays intact and each satisfied. It's a layer to the numbers expression that young girls aren't taught.

[–]nomancelad 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There is a great study that speaks about sexual partners in regards to both men and women and the self-reported marital satisfaction. The magic number is 6-10 (apart from 1 partner) for both sexes. The lowest percentage of women self reported being 'very happy' in marital satisfaction within that range (6-10 partners). The highest percentage of 'very happy' in regards to marital satisfaction (for both genders) was 1 partner (virgin > marry). For the men, the 6-10 partners is significant because it is where the percentage of very happy 'marital satisfaction' is the highest between the two genders (the gap between the %). A man with 6-10 partners is ALOT more happier than a woman with 6-10 partners. Men are happier across the board (regardless of number of sexual partners). The highest is 1 partner for both. The lowest for men is 5 partners. The lowest for women is 6-10.

https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2018/10/sexual-partners-and-marital-happiness/573493/

The point I am trying to make is that your proposition or idea of 'not knowing or experiencing sex and it's relation to orgasms and sexual happiness etc' WHEN IT COMES TO MARRIAGE is simply not true. For both genders in a straight hetero relationship.. the magic number is 1. At least.. when it comes to this one study.

There is another study that reports the 'likelihood of divorce in relation to sexual partners'

Women with 10 or more partners were the most likely to divorce, but this only became true in recent years;

Women with 3-9 partners were less likely to divorce than women with 2 partners; and,

Women with 0-1 partners were the least likely to divorce.

https://ifstudies.org/blog/counterintuitive-trends-in-the-link-between-premarital-sex-and-marital-stability

Another aspect is pair bonding, I suggest you look it up (if you care/are interested) and the studies associated with it indicating that the more partners a woman has, the more negatively impacted they are in general. They have an inability to properly 'emotionally' commit to that man like they would when they only have a few partners. The above study speaks about the results... '10+ partners = most likely to divorce' '3-9 is a sweet spot' and '0-1 partners pre marriage is the best'.

I'd take the relationship, sex, and life experience allowing me to know my commitment (or the man's) will last through the years, so our family stays intact and each satisfied.

That is all nice and idealistic if you ARE THE WOMAN and seeing it through the female lens (what women want). You forget one thing... have you asked if men, for the most part, are attracted to 'sex or life' experiences that women want to have or go through? What do they want? The market here is determined for either sex/gender.. by the opposite sex/gender. Most men simply do not want to wife up a hoe. Does it happen? Yes.. is it rare? yes.. are they 'successful'.. you determine that yourself and to what extent but quite a few studies would indicate 'no' purely based on the sexual partners and consequent repercussions (emotional damage/toll, baggage, perception of being a 'hoe', pair bonding consequences, etc).

because of being with the first or second man they date, that they find out later won't really try to help them get there... Just wouldn't wish that on anyone.

See.. this is the reason why the west and marriages are doomed. You completely spun a marriage and kids (the biological and fundamental PURPOSE we are all even here - to reproduce) as a secondary or lesser commitment/priority. You see orgasms as more important than raising kids with the best man you can get to be the father and provide etc. It's a symptom of the 'I want it and I want it now selfish culture' we are all living in. I want this, that, and everything else because... I can. But that's not how it works. Choices have consequences. You want to go figure out how to have an orgasm and some fun then you will forgo being the most attractive to the most amount of men. You just limit your options when trying to select for the best partner to have kids with later on. Just like I would, as a man, being a bum staying at home with my parents and not being financially stable - women aren't attracted to that.

I promise I am done now but I want to add that, me personally, the lower the better for the reasons and studies outlined in my responses. The 6-9 range is the most though. Anything above 10 is crazyyyyy talk (for me anyway) when looking for a wife and mother of my children. The studies back it up and drawing it back to my original comment of being 25 with a body count of 50... do you see how it holds water now?

If people are trying to demonize men and characterize them inaccurately as predators, it is for a reason. It's not just because they are mistaken.

People understandably don't want their daughters to suffer all of the negative consequences that result from certain unhealthy lifestyle choices. But it feels uncomfortable to talk to them about it. It's a little bit like the rhetoric of antismoking campaigns. Instead of telling the public they are suffering as a result of using tobacco, antismoking campaigns often use the rhetoric of of greedy tobacco corporations exploiting vulnerable members of the public. There is a little truth to it, so it's not a complete lie. But most of the harm is caused by people foolishly making bad lifestyle choices and suffering the consequences, and nothing will change that, except making better lifestyle choices.

Promiscuity (I'll say it again) for women is such a lifestyle choice, that results in a great number of negative outcomes. But as you have demonstrated yourself, people can become quite hostile, when you try o talk to them about making better lifestyle choices. So it is sometimes more comfortable to speak as though there are a bunch of predatory men out there. It's not a complete lie. Because they exist. The lie is telling women they cannot protect themselves from them, or from the multitude of other negative consequences that can result from u healthy lifestyle choices, when I truth, they can protect themselves effectively, by making healthier lifestyle choices.

You notice no one tells men this message. We preach personal responsibility to men. What would happen if we went around telling men their problem isn't drinking alcohol, but rather, the problem is predators out there forcing them to drink excessive alcohol? Well, that would be a terrible message, because it would just encourage men to find excuses for their unhealthy choices.

By the way, it has not escaped others' attention that this sub is now moderated by an anti-men's rights mod. I expect they will ban me and hide this comment. There will have to be an effort to start a new sub, if the mods cannot be replaced. Is anyone working on it? Perhaps join us in the other equal rights subs, if you would like to discuss such a plan.

[–]tipying_mistakes 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They act as if it’s a natural instinct in males to just exhibit acts of violence against women, as if were programmed to do that and we need to delete that line of code 😂

What a way to needlessly demonise men

[–]Effective_Alfalfa360 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Exactly. It's not natural instinct. It's taught. A lot of men grow up being told by their parents to fight back the school bully, to suppress their emotions, that they need to be in control of their life. When men are not allowed to express sadness, anxiety, or stress, it comes out as anger. If your kid has become violent and you need to teach them that it's not ok to be violent, you need to also let them express their stress, anxiety, sadness, and anger in healthy ways. Let them express all of their emotions so that it doesn't all come out in anger or frustration. Also, don't only teach them about not being violent towards women. Teach them to not be violent towards anyone. Violence towards men is higher than violence towards women. Violent men aren't only violent towards women.

Very, very well said, my friend

[+]Alarmed-Ad6871 -8 points-7 points-6 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The story was advocating that families gave these discussions with each other. So if you’re suggesting you’ll say “because your a boy and thats what boys do” then thats on you my friend.

I dont think you should say that and the media is not advocating you should say that. The story was literally discussing how it’s important to display empathy and understanding, and to disuss how things made them feel.

Its really seems like your not interested in having a legitimate discussion with anyone, rather it seems you are looking for people to validate your opinions rather than seeking to educate or better yourself.

[–]The_Dapper_Balrog 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I mean, what about the case where boys were made to apologize to girls for all the things men have done to women?

Or the fact that the Duluth model (the basis for many countries' "justice" systems for domestic abuse/violence) quite literally says that domestic abuse/violence is not the individual man's fault, but is because of a "socially reinforced sense of entitlement" that all men are supposed to have.

The only one in the wrong here is you.

But in any event im not sure how said yt vid has any real link to the story linked above - if you watch its all about respect and teaching children from a young age to stand up for what is right and to treat humans with empathy

[–]AchtzehnVonSchwefel 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago* (32 children) | Copy Link

It's not just YT. IG, Twitter, Reddit, FB, etc. is filled with this kind of feminist propaganda.

Based on the video, calling men "pigs" is considered standing for what is right. Thank you feminists! You have opened my eyes to my clear incompetence and lack of morals.

[–]Alarmed-Ad6871 -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (31 children) | Copy Link

I mean this just isn’t whats on most peoples feeds. Totally up to you what you surround yourself with but what I’ve witnessed is conservative accounts tend to be the primary spreaders of far left wing activists (the same goes for progressive accounts sharing far right content) The truth is that media is used to solidify the necessity to agree with the viewpoints those accounts advocate for - its total up to you what you look at and follow but the truth is that activity just isnt that prominent and if you expose yourself to a greater number of news outlets, a wider variety of opinions and more diverse accounts you’ll soon discover such behaviour really just isn’t very common

[–]Punder_man 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

True.. but the rest of society IS telling our sons that they aren't 'good human beings because they are male'

If all you keep hearing is how men are X (replace x with):

  • Rapists
  • Pigs
  • Scum
  • Misogynists
  • Incels
  • etc

Don't you think that eventually these young boys will begin to self-hate themselves because they are being made to feel collective guilt for things they have never done for no other reason than because their gender?

[–]Alarmed-Ad6871 -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No, its simply a matter of addressing the fact that many of these characteristics are displayed by toxic men and raising awareness of such toxic behaviour and the fact that its unacceptable is how you address it and prevent it in future.

There is no widespread suggestion (there may be suggestions by fringe individuals) that all men are inherently rapists.

But we need to acknowledge that those men exist and educate young people on the fact that such behaviour isnt ok

[–]Punder_man 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There's a HUGE difference between educating around the 'toxic behavior displayed by SOME men" and propaganda designed to convince men that they are all evil, rapists, misogynists etc..

You don't fix ANYTHING by telling people who have never done anything that they are evil because they share some immutable characteristics with those who have done horrible things.

That's NOT how that works at all..

If the goal was to prevent this 'toxic' behavior do you know how you do that?
You BALANCE it out..
So while you point out the negatives that you are wanting to prevent you also point out POSITIVES to reinforce how they should behave to prevent the negative outcome.

But we don't hear feminists saying anything positive about men..
Its ALWAYS "All men are rapists" "All men are Misogynists" etc..
If there is no positive representation of men then the only message getting sent is: "Men are X" and if you are man you are part of this by default.\

Yeah.. no.. you have NO fucking idea what you are saying..

[–]gafgone5 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I've had my own flesh-and-blood mother tell me that because I'm a man I will be inherently hostile towards women in my life and that I will be solely responsible for keeping everyone ELSE feeling safe. From your comments here I can deduce one of two things: you're either a misandric troll or you're a complete idiot that cannot comprehend simple conversation, and if a comment doesn't fit your narrative you will continually question it even though we answer the first time. Considering that biggest indicator in men for violent behaviour is growing up without a father, shouldn't girls be taught to grow children with a father in a family?

[–]ZestycloseParfait264 51 points52 points53 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

How about teaching kids about consequences of choosing the wrong partner for baby making.

It's both girls and boys. You're responsible for the future of the child you make without care. Don't choose wrong people to be father and mother for your children when they're incapable of being one.

Thank you! We need to teach women how to keep a man interested so they stay in their child's life.

[–]PlzSendDunes 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

There is no need to keep a man interested. I know quite a few women who were such control freaks in trying to control man's time and income, that the moment man decided that he had enough and draw borders, women would unleash psychological warfare and if it didn't work then would divorce them with excuse "I know better. He was a deadbeat anyway." to later blackmail man for their time and money.

[–]NvrHadAFriendLikeMe1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (6 children) | Copy Link

When a man leaves, it's because the woman failed. If he's not raising his kids, it's because there is something wrong with her. That makes sense. Like if a woman abandons her children, it's likely the man's fault....

[–]PlzSendDunes 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

I am not talking about cases when father abandons children. Those happen, but from what I have seen they are relatively rare. Most cases are that women kick men out of the family and then blackmail and gaslight men to extort benefit out of them.

I heard cases when woman would lie to a child that father abandoned son, but then son seeked out his father and got the truth that wife was gaslighting and blackmailing him using a son and then son abandoned mom when he opened his eyes that his mom was entire life manipulative to everyone around.

[–]NvrHadAFriendLikeMe1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

Most cases are a family gets divorced, men see the kids on weekends. Then every other weekend. Then once a month, then they both find new partners and move on with their lives because they really don't like eachother.

Most cases are not extortion, false allegations, and conspiracy.

[–]PlzSendDunes 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

There friends of mine who committed suicide because they worked their entire life to have a place to live, to have a car and decent living, just to marry and taken everything away by courts. Their entire livelihood taken away to satisfy few manipulative, control freakish women. And you are talking that this is not the truth?

I would advise to look at what sub you are in. And rethink the nonsense you are spouting. It's easy to dismiss reality when injustice hasn't touched you.

[–]NvrHadAFriendLikeMe1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

Extreme cases do not represent the vast majority. Most men do not lose their jobs and commit suicide after divorce.

Care to expand on why it’s not important to carefully select your partner to have kids with??

[–]Lumpy_Constellation -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

This seems like either a misunderstanding, or a purposeful misrepresentation. The commenter acknowledged that absent fathers are the problem, and then turned around and blamed mothers for the actions of those men.

I think we can all agree that abusers don't show up with a sign saying "I am evil and will abandon you and our kids". Their behavior usually escalates over time, creating a "slowly boiling pot" situation, and pregnancy is actually an event that tends to trigger an escalation in abuse. Meaning that men often don't show overt abuse until after it's too late for women to simply "pick a better partner to have kids with".

I think we can also agree that not everyone chooses parenthood, sometimes pregnancies are mistakes. And I realize the canned response to this is also to blame women for having sex with someone they don't intend to parent with, but again isn't it just as accurate to say "men shouldn't have sex with women unless they're willing to raise a child with them?" Again, if men are the ones leaving their families, then shouldn't men be taught to keep it in their pants until they're ready to be a dad?

Basically put, you're blaming the mothers who stayed for the actions of the fathers who left.

No tolerance of disrespect of women sounds like a good idea, until people stop and really think about it. Nothing screams DV perp more than "I don't tolerate being disrespected". No group are less happy than people who can't tolerate criticism.

Boys need to know that it's sometimes OK to criticise women. If they always criticise women, they have a problem, but if they never criticise women, they also have a problem.

Is there a big problem with men on women violence in Australia? If so, I can understand why it's important to teach boys how to treat women if it's a huge issue. Also, women can be abusive too and women on men violence is often underreported. So actually, ALL KIDS should be taught that violence isn't ok. Also, there will always be some people out there who are just violent people. We most likely will never get rid of it completely.

[–]King_Gent99 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately stuff like that is just seen as normal in Australia, at least from what I’ve seen. There was a ad for a new article about a woman who helped someone traffic children (I should probably know the name but I’ve forgotten rn) and one of the things they featured in the ad was someone crying saying I expected it from a man but not from a woman, implying sexual exploitation of children is only ever done by men. This was all on one of the free to air channels over here

Ok so I’m going to admit that men are biologically more violent than women, there isn’t any denying. However: there are also a lot of perverted and violent women. Maybe 10-20% of violent and perverted people are women at most, but it’s still an alarming amount to where we should be teaching both genders about respecting the other gender.

I really hate the stereotype that boys can’t be mean to girls but it’s ok the other way around. We should abolish it as a whole and teach boys and girls to respect the other gender.

Edit: im probably wrong so tee hee sorry, check replies.

[–]MixtureSufficient956 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Actually there was a study showing women are more violent than men. It’s taught in sociology 101. It’s just women are more afraid of getting hurt so there less likely to get physical.

[–]Exotic_Midnight4652 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To be fair my reasoning is coming from my dad who is a self proclaimed femcel, so I can't really use it but I can see why you would say that, to be honest. According to some random source on google:

"In laboratory studies, women are less aggressive than men, but provocation attenuates this difference. In the real world, women are just as likely to aggress against their romantic partner as men are, but men cause more serious physical and psychological harm. A very small minority of women are also sexually violent".

So you are correct, however, I guess they express it in different ways.

[–]rabel111 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Genuine advocates working to reduce domestic violence are not taken in by this sexist approach based on the belief that all men are violent misogynists by nature, and must be re-educated as children or inevidably become knuckle dragging, wife beating rapists.

This popular Australian show is an ultra-left wing echo chamber of born again white knights who stereotype Australian men in order to virtue signal, sending a mixed message of "all men are rapists" oh.... "except us virtue signalers".

The most famous of these legendary media white knighters, Andrew O'Keefe ex-game show host and ex-chairman of White Ribbon Australia, was arrested and prosecuted for shocking domestic violence offenses several times, against seveal women. While the hosts of this popular Australian news show claim it's other Australian men who can't stop bashing women, you have wonder whether their virtue signalling is like O'Keefe's, a projection of his own behaviour, particularly given the frequency of domestic violence in the entertainment communiity recently making the headlines across the world.

The shallow stereotyped framing of Australian men by the feminist movement reveals an entrenched misandry and resentment that is incapable of acknowledging the violence of women in the Australian community, perpetuating the cycle of violence by offering no help to the victims of women's violence who then go on to abuse others. So long as the feminist movement in Australia continues to support and conceal the women who beat their partners, rape underage youth in the care, and abuse or murder their children, the battle to stop domestic violence in Australia will fail, alienating many victims, both male and female.
