Question for the women and girls of r/exredpill. Do you call out your lady friends who are misandrist? Do you hold misandric women accountable?

I've never had a woman friend be an active misandrist in the way men can be misogynists.

I have had women express frustrations toward men in the sense of talking down to them, interrupting them, or issues with dating - but this is far from misandry.

It depends on what your definition of "misandrist" is. I've seen women get called misandrists for citing rape statistics or even just telling jokes. Ironically, it's the men who make misogynistic jokes who get offended over jokes they perceive as "misandrist" (they can dish it but they can't take it lols)

There are some things that I do try to shut down or call out, like the "All men are trash" expression or "Kill all men" - these are obviously very ignorant and backwards statements. I am not personally friends with women like that in the first place.

I also want to note that unlike misogyny or racism, misandry doesn't escalate to wide-scale violence. I don't have to worry about taking things a step further and getting authorities involved like I have to do with misogynistic men.

As a boss, I’m very equal when it come to dealing with sexism and harassment.

My friends tend to be egalitarian like me. However, in general I’ve noticed men to respond with defensiveness and ‘whataboutism’ more than women when criticized.

My closest friends have never said anything I would consider misandrist, I wouldn't maintain a friendship with someone who commonly and repeatedly said things against an entire other gender/actively hated men.

I have called out colleagues for commenting on men's bodies in a way I felt was inappropriate and objectifying. Both in terms of comments/jokes about height and/or penis size (never directed at a specific man, more general) and in terms of reducing a man just to some of his physical attributes and ignoring him as a person.

Honestly, I think the women that hate men are generally harmless. They just avoid men, they might say something mean but that’s more of their own problem than a problem that affects you or I. The only person they should be accountable to is themselves because blanket hatred like that is just a reflection of their character, and may be a response to negative experiences. There’s no reason that we should let that affect us.

The women that should be held accountable are the ones that hurt, manipulate, cheat, etc. The ones that make excuses for their actions without attempting to change. The ones that suck others into their problems; the ones that wait on others to help them and don’t take any action or accountability themselves.

(Not dogging on women, we as men have plenty we need to hold ourselves and each other accountable for)

I'm formerly religious, so I don't go for the full public jugular grip at first like people do now, but if needed, yes. I find that people, especially younger, Autistic, or with other developmental issues are trying desperately to grow up, learn the world, try to succeed, etc. and just make mistakes. We all do. We can't be 100% thinking fully-controlled animals all the time. Society provides very little wiggle room for mistakes and you're expected to get it right on the first go in most cases. We still have our innate nature, trauma issues, etc. to fight off while doing that. Because I understand this, I try to give lots of grace privately before I "call them out". Society makes misandrists and not everyone is fully aware of how we can get stuck casually hating on others just from social media influence, toxic circles, etc. I would say that it greatly depends on the situation, what's involved, how much good the person has done otherwise, do they habitually repeat that issue, was it extenuating circumstances, who the accuser is, etc.

I have never had a misandrist female friend. However I have had female friends who openly express and feel misogynistic sentiments. I still fall into that category in my weaker moments.

I have had a friend utter the words "men are trash", which was hyperbole to express her experience with cheating men and consequent experience with men who she met on apps lying about their life. To that I replied I was sorry she felt that way and hoped she finds someone as loving and honest as my bf to renew her hope. I didn't "hold her accountable" because it was clear that statement was linked to her frustrations, not something she believed.

I have never heard a woman express a genuine sentiment that men are inferior. I say "general" because there are measurable qualities/skills that men/women are "better" at. Men are better at abstract thought in general, and women are better at detail oriented thinking. So acknowledging a trend of general superiority/inferiority in some domain is something I've heard many people say- usually backed up by some empirical evidence, or it's just their anecdotal hypothesis. Sometimes the anecdotal hypothesis disfavours men, but it's never a statement of fact nor is it hateful, just one of observation.

The only place I really encounter what could be argued to be misandrist (as dislike or perceived inferiority of men) is occasionally in media and comedy. And irl the only form of misandry (as discrimination) is bar rules where women can enter for free before 10pm but men need to pay the cover. And no I have never called that out because I am not the bar owner and don't make those rules.

As a male feminist, I believe that women's grievances regarding dating, sex, and relationships are more legitimate than men's. I have seen my female friends ghosted by f***boy after f***boy and it takes a big toll on their self esteem. That is why, sub reddits like u/femaledatingstrategy unfairly get a bad rep.

I’d call them bitches, and/or misanthropic. That’s not really specific to misandry. I have one co-worker who doesn’t really dislike men, but also doesn’t really like or value them; she’s super pretty, and I think the level of male monitoring, dishonest overtures, and simple pestering that very pretty women get can cause them to, at the least, not value men as much. The most misandrist women I’ve known have also been very pretty.

I call them out on specific comments, and I’ll only set them up with a guy friend if he’s the type of guy who values appearance in women above and to the exclusion of all other factors.

I have had two different friends so far yelling in anger in front of me that they absolutely hate men. Or men are the worst. Etc.

Both were gay friends who did indeed get hurt by other men though (and repeatedly too. Grindr seems to bring out the best...but also the worst of guys).

I have to admit that I did not call them out on it, because well...they are men themselves and won't it be a 'womansplaining' move if I do that?

I never heard any blantant misandry/men hate from my female friends though. Most of them are either in happy relationship or have male friends too. Sometimes they complain about being harassed, but they know that most guys do not harass others and keep to themselves.

There's being anti-male and then there's what RP and certain men say is anti-male but is just something they don't like to hear (usually getting called out on bad behaviour). There is definitely a problem with how men are treated in society, particularly White men. I hate seeing this and rail against it. Problem is most men aren't upset about this kind of mistreatment so much as not getting what they want, they use this mistreatment as an excuse to cover what they're actually upset about (not getting what they want. they may be upset by both, but the primary factor is usually not getting what they want and more often than not, hating women. they use societies mistreatment of men as an excuse to do what they were going to do anyway, in mistreating women.

The fact that most people on this post don’t want to answer your question proves where their loyalties lie. Most of these people are not ex-redpill. They’re a bunch of feminists that want to enforce their ideology into you.

As much as I don’t like redpill, it’s these type of people that make it so appealing to young men.

Absolutely. Hate is hate and some women may argue that misandry is not as harmful as misogyny but I just don't see how that is true when dealing with individuals. Going around treating anyone poorly because of their gender is messed up. Luckily I have not found myself in a situation where I have had to deal with a misandrist who is a friend.
