We've all heard the discussion.

PPD man: men built civilization.

PPD woman: only a small percentage of men made significant contributions to civilization. Most men haven't accomplished shit.

Aside from the irony of some women's willingness to blame rank and file men for the evils of a small percentage of powerful and influential men while simultaneously denying rank and file men for the accomplishments of a small percentage of visionary and influential men this argument also fails on another more important level. But before we get to that let's address the predictable response.

Women give birth therefore men couldn't accomplish anything if their mothers didn't birth them

Yes, women give birth as a result of being impregnated by men. Therefore women couldn't get pregnant if men weren't impregnating them

And now on to my main point which is the average rank and file man's contribution to society and civilization has always exceeded the average woman's contribution by leaps and bounds.

Let's start with the building blocks:

1. Food: Food comes from a few main sources; agriculture, fishing, hunting, gathering and trapping. Women are the primary gatherers in hunter-gatherer societies and men are the primary hunters. Also in early agrarian societies women often performed farm duties such as milking the cows, collecting the eggs and harvesting smaller crops. Men have traditionally carried the lion's share with the remaining duties.

2. Water: Water comes out of the sky and from oceans, lakes, rivers etc. But not all water is suitable to drink which means processes needed to be put in place to purify dirty water and desalinate ocean water to make it safe for human consumption. Guess which gender, at the rank and file level, carried the burden for this. You can also tie this point with agriculture as irrigation has been needed to channel water sources in order to feed crops. Men...rank and file "average" men did this.

3. Shelter: Whether it's a grass hut in the most isolated primitive tribe or a high rise apartment complex in any modern city rest assured it's the labor of rank and file men that has provided shelter in every society. Don't believe me? Take a drive through a residential subdivision that's under construction and see who the concrete finishers, masons, carpenters, plumbers, electricians and other tradesmen are. And while you're there note who the utility workers are who ensure that power, water, sewer, telephone, internet etc is provided.

I think this is a good point to mention how ridiculous it is that shit like this even needs to be stated out loud. I mean, on what planet is any of this already not obvious? But I digress.

4. Transportation: Chariots, horses and buggies, the automobile, trains, subways, high speed rail etc. Yes, one man (Henry Ford) can be given credit for the automobile but who do you think was on the factory floor cranking out all those Model T's? I'll tell you who. The grandfathers of the same men who are currently cranking out F-150s. Rank and file men built all this shit.

5. Communication: Cuneiform, printing press, telephone, telegraph, television, internet, 3G, 4G, 5G etc. Yes, some great individual man invented all of this. Then several million rank and file men built and maintained it.

That's all. I could go on but I think you get my point.
