If you have easy access to something, it’s not valuable to you. Supply and demand. Women have easy access to sex so they don’t give it much value, even though they like it.

For men it’s not as easy to get sex, so they’re willing to “trade” for it. Providing commitment, courtship, even money in exchange.

free to alot of people is subjective that's probably why. if someone where to offer me a cup for a leaf it'll feel as though the cup was given to me free of charge because what i did was basically worthless to me. however if i valued the leaf, it'll feel as if i'm doing a great cost.

what you are observing is men and women valuing actions and sex differently.

the men who go " it's always costing something" are the ones who view stuff like dating as a chore, as a great enough cost for sex. mean while the woman who go " don't give guys free sex" view the things a guy is doing as not enough to merit it.

it is simple as that.

Generally casual encounters with a stranger are unlikely to result in pleasurable sex for women. And occasionally can result in trauma, assault, etc. I don’t want to have sex with someone unless I feel safe with them, and know they’re mutually excited about me having a good time. It takes me a while to feel comfortable enough to lower my inhibitions and relax enough to enjoy the experience. I don’t get that from ONS so I don’t pursue them. Doesn’t mean I don’t like sex, or that I need a man to spend money on me on exchange for sex. Just means I want sex with someone I’ve gotten to know and like enough to want to work on exploring our potential sexually compatibility together.

For some straight women who actually are attracted to the men they have sex, you could make the argument it’s free for them, but for any other category of people it’s definitely not. If you’re a straight woman who is using a man for money or material things (also money) you have to pay the price of being intimate in a situation where you probably don’t find the experience very enjoyable. You might even be disgusted. You’re paying with your time, and a lot of people say that time is even more valuable (expensive) than money. You can replace money. You can’t replace time.
