This kid will win if the parents sue. With all the violence, drugs, etc. in the school system these days the administrators choose to attack a young man for choosing to carry his belongings is a device that is associated with women.

For some reason, these stories regarding the boys in school being discriminated against piss me off the worst. These experiences are shaping these kid's personality for life.

At 13 years old, this boy should be allowed to explore who he is and express himself without fear of government administrators and their ridiculous regulations.

This infuriates me. I keep catching flack for carrying around my "purse" (I call it a LifeSac) even though it has no gender specific designs or connotations. It's just black.

But as soon as someone sees me pull out my accoutrements from the LifeSac/purse, suddenly it's "faggy" or "womanly". To hell with social norms, this thing is handy as hell!

Best part about it is that it's part of a modular bag; I bring my laptop bag to work, then when I'm done with work I unzip and detach my "purse" and I'm off.

Have schools really gone this far down the rabbit hole? WHO FUCKING CARES if this kid is wearing a 'purse'? It's his style choice.

What's next? Jean color to blue? Hair color just a little to light to be considered brown? OH! I know! The volleyball that was hit by a 13yo guy that just happened to graze the breast of a 12yo girl who missed the ball entirely. He gets suspended and thrown in jail, thus is labeled a sex offender for the rest of his life because she felt violated.

Schools by and large need to grow a brain cell. Have a conversation with the parents and kids that bring army men, little plastic guns, or heaven forbid draw guns for Halloween costume. Inform them that this is not acceptable and to please not do it again. Jumping to suspension because of a toy gun that's half the size of your little finger, or a drawing of one, or even a purse. Has to be about the biggest bone headed move I've ever read about.

I'll bet that while this poor kid is suspended. All the little girls at his school are violating dress code because the male teachers cant say anything for fear of being called a pervert and are summarily fired. While the female teachers are to busy looking at the male students to fuck up so they can get them suspended and don't care that what the female students are wearing violate said dress code.

Fuck the double standard.

Beyond a doubt this is true.

But exceptions have been made for women with their purses at stadiums and in airplanes (where men are not granted the same privilege) so I don't know what his chances are.

It's not entirely clear whether he was being unfairly targeted here. According to the school; students are supposed to keep their bags in lockers and he refused to do so.

I'm very proud of the fact that my mother was the first girl in her high school to get sent home from school for wearing pants. That was in the 1960s..... somehow the social progress made in the past 45 years was a bit one-sided.

How did this happen? I thought feminism dealt with men's issues too!
