American college students aren't. Male American college student are.

Which is exactly what imbeciles like this woman have fought to make sure is the case all throughout society - one set of rules for females, and one - much more severe - set of rules for males.

Edit: Seriously - show me a single article detailing a case in which a female student was tossed out of college, sending her life into utter ruin, because a male merely made an accusation against her.

Yeah, I mean I'm glad this article exists as it DOES show the many pitfalls of our "guilty before innocent" system when it comes to rape. But you don't get to spend your life rabidly howling for women to have the authority to ruin someone's life, and then only come to your senses when it is YOUR loved one getting ruined. She knew - everyone knew - that this sort of catastrophe would be a side effect of the policies they tweeted about and used social media to infect our society with. They just didn't give a fuck - and some even wanted it.

And the universities are all too eager to just start randomly booting out any male that is accused by anyone of any sexual wrongdoing. And I don't blame them from a selfish point of view. If you require evidence for booting out a student, then you appear soft of crime and rape culture. If you don't cave in and betray the male students who put their trust in the university, you get demonized and with 61% of college attendees being female, suddenly the university has to face a choice.

1) Fire a bunch of scapegoats in the administration and hire some feminist / social justice oriented people and fork over a ton of money into new centers for women, etc. 2) Do the right thing, but become irrevocably tainted as that "rape college" and slowly dwindle in funding, public perception, rankings, etc.

I mean, Duke is still tainted by their sexual assault scandal which was proven fake. I know girls who turned it down for schools they didn't like at much because it had such a "rape-utation" - and this was like 7 years after the rape case was proven to be false accusation. And they lynched the students too - they assumed the students' guilt like mainstream society says you should.

So basically, this feminist mother needs to understand its way too late. People like her created this massive pressure on universities to not give a flying fuck about their male students' right to innocent before proven guilty. Universities change very slowly, so this happened over about 20 years.

You don't just get to plod on for 20 years and then say "whoops, guys we took it too far." I don't buy that. I believe they knew exactly how far they were taking it, and wanted it to get to this point.

I don't really care about how this woman came to see the problems with university rape policies -- I am contented with the fact that she realized it at all.

Seriously, don't criticize individuals on how they came to see the light, just be glad some dominoes are starting to fall.

We need more women and more self-described feminists to advocate for these issues.

I was pretty brainwashed in college. I didn't even think about that sort of thing until I was falsely accused of domestic violence. People can change. Unfortunately, it usually takes a traumatic experience to cause that to happen. I wish it were not the case, but that's the way of the world.

I know this seems all gestapoish, but it sounds like they arrived at the proper judgment. This wasn't a police station; it was a group of college admins with no ability to put this kid in jail. They held his feet to the fire to stress him and see if he would waver in his story; a common tactic by interrogators. When he didn't, they believed him and let him go.

What's the problem? (Other than the mother requiring this to happen to her son to understand that accused people have rights.)
