I chucked that ugly ass Pandora bracelet I never even wanted and actively loathed into the damn canal! Chunky ugly ass thing got in the way of my push ups and every day life. Ugh!

What I wanted (because he asked) was a gold name plate necklace and I just got it my damn self! I’m a low-income Mother of three and he’s supposedly “rich”, what was his excuse?

I literally threw my wedding dress in a dumpster the day my divorce was finalized. I was with my ex for 12 years but any stranger who looked through my photo albums or social media would never know lol.

My dumbass (33-year-old!!) ex made me this ugly arts and crafts project and I can’t believe I didn’t laugh in his face and kick him to the curb. The dude couldn’t even put in the basic effort to pick me up from the train station went I went to visit him, or buy me fucking chicken nuggets, but one day he grabbed some art supplies and used my air dryer to melt crayons onto canvas (getting wax all over the wall in my apartment!!) like a fucking kindergartener. I was such a Pickmeisha I tolerated him being friends with his ex (surprise surprise, he was also fucking her) and when we went to her place lo and behold the same ugly ass child’s crafternoon activity was displayed proudly on her wall. Needless to say, I kicked a hole in it so it wouldn’t be a forever reminder of the cringey LVM shit that I accepted.

Also, I went through all the photos of me and my exes and cropped them out, cuz I still look cute.

Delete him from your life.

When my ex-husband and I split up (married 23 years). I had my wedding dress and I was thinking about cutting it up in tiny squares. Someone mentioned a charity that takes old wedding dresses and sews them into gowns for stillborn babies to be buried in. I donated it to that charity.

I found a few love letters recently that my ex wrote to me. I read them and put them in a file folder. I was thinking about burning them but I didn't yet.

as far as the jewelry goes he did get me a lot of nice things and there are a few pieces I'm not too crazy about. I was thinking about selling them all but then I thought the jewelry didn't do anything to me he did. So I kept them. My daughter can have them once I'm gone.

In Croatia, our neighboring country, there is the Museum of Broken Relationships which is quite the tourist attraction. I found it intriguing. I see their success has inspired them to open a branch in Los Angeles, if any FDSers in that area feel like stopping by and viewing some dodged bullets. I don't know if they are taking donations, but if so, that's another possibility for your LVM/NVM trash.

A man I knew rolled off me after sex and proposed. I was a teenage fool and accepted. He raged at me when I didn't choose an engagement ring in a timeframe of a few hours which he had kept to himself. From a salary of a couple of grand a month (90s money), he bought me his selection of a £70 ring from a cheap catalogue store instead. I was buying myself more meaningful jewellery just as random purchases and he knew it.

I threw that piece of tat into a hole in the floorboards of a house I no longer live in. Feels good.
