A boring relationship: you never go anywhere, you never do anything, your conversations are limited to making future plans to never go anywhere or do anything. You don't really talk or have fun together. Your partner is resistant to trying new things if you offer suggestions. You have no shared hobbies or interests. He doesn't want to share his hobbies with you, and he is not interested in trying out yours. The sex is lackluster, if it happens much at all.

A better relationship is one where you do have little mini adventures together, even just to a farmer's market or walking the dog. You enjoy talking to each other, and even if you are just at home watching TV you laugh and have fun together. Your partner is passionate about their hobbies and interests and wants to share them with you, because they are such a part of his life. He may not have the same hobbies as you do, but if you invite him to participate he is game to try at least once.

A boring relationship is one where we would never do anything other than watch some shows together and never go anywhere unless it's an anniversary or a birthday. For me, a boring man is someone who never wants to get out of their comfort zone, one that refuses to include me in his hobbies and actively avoids even asking about mine, he's someone who doesn't care if we have anything fun we could do together as a couple. It's a guy who treats the relationship as a roommate arrangement with some sex added in there every now and then.

Poor conversationalist: can't engage, start or keep up with a discussion
Total homebody who doesn't like going to new places and exploring new things. I don't want to go out every evening, but I want to go to a new place one or twice a month and take walks regularly.

Nothing happens in the relationship I guess? Like if my life is now less fun with you in it, or I do the same thing as if I'm single anyways. Or if you want to do stuff, but the stuff you want to do is not fun for me.

Never go on dates, wants to Stay home and watch tv or play video games every bit of spare time they have, don’t take trips together even weekend trips are good, not open to trying new things or complains and whinges when they do, dislikes spontaneous adventures or ideas, not willing to go with the flow, takes themselves to seriously, not able to have a laugh at themselves, has to be with you 24/7 (or has to text you or call you constantly), doesn’t know what to talk about once you’ve talked about your day, not able to pick up your cues on how you are feeling

A man is boring if:

He's dumb and can't keep up with me intellectually
He's completely vanilla in bed and has no interest in trying new things
He has few hobbies or interests
He doesn't think deeply about the world
He parrots cookie-cutter opinions with no originality or depth
He doesn't care about artistic endeavours
If we're not officially doing an activity, we have nothing to talk about -- by which I mean, it should be fun to do boring things around him because he's an interesting person no matter what we're doing.

The first point is probably the most important. I try not to date stupid people; it only encourages them.

When you are becoming too intimate with one another it becomes boring. I want to feel jealous sometimes. People who don’t give any reason or space for insecurity and jealousy tend to be impossible to be around, it’s cute at first, but then this bliss becomes suffocating. How am I supposed to be attracted to somebody who doesn’t put minimal effort into sex appeal, and dumps their puppy love on me all the time.

And what’s more frustrating is there is no way to verbalize it without sounding like a problematic bitch. And I’m not a problematic bitch. There is just a reason why countless pick up advice is built on aloofness and withdrawal.

-One without any stimulating conversation. He doesnt need to be Einstein and know everything, but someone I can just talk to about a decent amount of topics. Doesnt need to be deep intellectual stuff either.

-No interest in doing different things. Im introverted and love routine, but even I need to do something different once in awhile. My standard for this is pretty low.

-This is the biggest one: I cant be my goofy and random self. This is actually one of the biggest requirements for a relationship with me. I prefer the person to do it back but they have to humor me at least. This is probably the reason why I like the show Seinfeld so much. I love Jerry and George's dynamic and its honestly my ideal friendship.

-the person has no passion for anything (and they arent depressed/overly stressed either) I dont care what it is, I dont even need to necessarily like it, but some people have passion for literally nothing ever.

Boring is relative.

The main thing is they need to have interests and social connections outside of just me and our dating life and they need to show interest in the bedroom and in me regularly but not dramatically or taking great efforts or anything.

An interesting person can be interesting even if we're not constantly traveling or going to weird restaurants for dates or making art in their or my living room.

And boring people can still be boring even if they have hobbies, interests, friends and a social life.

Also it's relative. Some of my friends find gamers who spend hours a day boring. I generally don't as long as it doesn't interfere with their ability to handle their responsibilities and the time we've mutually agreed to spend doing something to/with each other.

Probably my first boyfriend.

He gamed a good three hours a day, maybe more. Often didn't like trying new things, if I did something a bit 'outside the box' he would sneer at it. Even though he was good at what he did, the sex was a bit boring. It was very routine every time.

Closed off and in retreat from the world and interesting experiences and ideas. Basically the sort of dude who won't walk down the street with you to find out why so much water is flowing down the gutter, won't come out to look when sky is spectacular, isn't interested in taking a three minute detour to drive past the local Mormon temple to see the goddamn gilded statue those fuckers just put on top of the place, grumbles when you pack a picnic basket so the family can go eat baguettes and play chess under a shady tree, doesn't have an opinion on the truly weird historic recipe you found online and ask him if you should try to make, never reads, never has anything interesting to say.

That guy... he's boring. He makes the relationship boring.
