Sexual liberation for women is a good thing. It's a good thing that women are now growing up in a world where if they want they can experience casual sex, ONS, FWBs, etc... with less societal judgement and liberty than ever before.

But it's definitely abused and mishandled by women. Social media, tiktok, friend groups, etc... have taken the liberty and right to be sexually promiscuous as an obligation to be sexually promiscuous.

How many young women have the natural state of wanting LTRs or sex only with someone they have an emotional connection with, only to be peer pressured by social media and their friends, under the banner of female empowerment, to have a "hoe phase"? To get it out of their system in their teens and early 20s before trying to settle down with a more stable male partner?

If these women don't buckle to the pressure, they are often dismissed or even made fun of by their more "sexually liberated" female peers for having some sort of internalized sexism that they can't snap out of. It's almost a form of bullying, and a coping mechanism by these more promiscuous women because the idea that their way of life being anything other than 100% right is threatened by other women who choose not to exercise this liberty.

For women who aren't naturally hoes, they still have the liberty to be hoes if they want. The right to be a hoe isn't taken away simply because you don't exercise it, it's intrinsic.

For women who aren't naturally hoes who give into this lifestyle due to peer pressure and view the right to participate in hookup culture as the obligation to participate, they often leave their hoe phases regretting their decisions and actions. Especially when they find out the HVM are less interested in women with a highly promiscuous past, even if they support their right to have a highly promiscuous past.

I have the right to eat 10 hamburgers a day, but not the obligation to simply because the chance exists. And if the end result after 5 years is me being morbidly obese, who am I to get upset that the people I'm attracted to don't want to date me? This example doesn't even capture just how bad it is, because I can lose the weight, whereas these women can't change their pasts unless they actively hide it/lie about it.

The coping from their peers then turns to, "Well, if he was a HVM and your right partner, he wouldnt care about your past!"... which does fuck all to actually change the reality than 90-95% of men feel this way. They view the judgement they receive for their actions as the failure of men and proof that their sexual liberation at a societal level isn't yet complete, and they double down.

I wonder how many women 5 to 10 years ago will look back at their need and obligation to exercise their right to participate in hookup culture and say, "fuck, I really should have gone about this in a different way."

If these women filled with regret are in this sub, or if you're someone who has this regret, I would love to hear your perspectives. Likewise if you have no regrets.
