Something I disagree with is the idea that hypergamy in women stems from an active desire or something women are fully aware of. As if they are constantly comparing men and see who's better. I don't believe women are doing this.

I think women simply respond to certain qualities of men but don't have upper limits on them. That a man having more and more of some quality will always feel better to them. To illustrate what I mean, lets look at height.

This chart is a graph of woman Bumble user height preferences. The percentage means the amount of women which included this height in their search range. Now, what we can see is, men who are 6 feet tall are included 58% of the time, but men who are 6'6" are included 90%+ of the time ! This literally means an extra six inches of height on top of being six feet tall is actually a lot better than just being 6 feet. Even men who are 6'11" got included 65% of the time. Men who are 7 feet + got included more than guys who were 5'11".

The fact that men at 6'10"+ are still getting included at rates higher than guys 6 feet tall shows you women do not have an upper limit on height. They might not be trying to get the tallest guy they can, but there's positives if your even taller.

Men tend to have limits on what they consider attractive in women. As a guy who likes women with bbl/cosmetic surgery, I have definitely noticed with my male friends there's a much more notciable "too much" with guys. I tend to like women they will say are way too hour glass shaped (like 26 inch waist and 46 inch hips).
