Burner account, sorry for that. My scenario....

I'm in Colorado, married over 20 years. She hasn't worked in over 10 years. I make roughly $220K/yr. Part of that is also commission pay, the split is 75% base salary and 25% commission.

The formula in CO says she would be entitled to 40% of my monthly gross pay for alimony. Plugging all of that into the CO alimony calculator, comes out to a payment of $5500 per month. So my question, is that actual, out of pocket, from my take home pay? Or is that $5500 from gross pay, taxes come out, then I pay whatever the result is?

Also, to the point about commissions, are those included in the gross pay amount?
