Art. Men have been, and continue to be incredibly creative. Just look at the sisteen chapel or a jackson pollock painting.

Duty Weather through nature or nurture, most men are instilled with a sense of duty, and to protect others. We are good, kind, caring, selfless creatures who put our lives on the line for others. Chivalry is one example of this.

self sacrifice following on from Duty, we have sense of self sacrifice, if it ensures the safety of others.

Tollerance Men, generally speaking are rather tolerant of others, and people who are different to us. We are accepting, and accept a broad range of people and attributes from others, without judging.

Comedy, and curiosity are teo other amazing traits of men.

Woman here speaking, so I don’t really know if i’m allowed to comment here, Lmk if i’m not.

I have enough male role models in my life to know how important and precious men are, whether in the family and friendships or society as a whole. Men are usually known for being providers but that’s definitely NOT the only thing they should be praised for, they are loving and care very deeply about those around them, and they always show it through their actions, which I think, should be WAY more appreciated in today’s society where people are becoming more self centered. Furthermore, men, contrary to popular belief, are always ready to work things out even if there’s no hope left, which shows how most of them are very selfless and loving. I also wanna add how I’ve always appreciated male friendships and brotherhood, the way you could tease (jokingly) someone constantly but always let them know that you’ve got their back no matter what is so genuine and heartwarming. Another thing I also appreciate about men is how you can rely on them in difficult situations because of their rational and logical thinking(which is very reassuring) and their ability to work things out even under extreme pressure thanks to this ability to remain calm and logical.

I’m pretty sure there are other qualities that can be appreciated about men, but I just cited the ones off the top of my head. Anyway, Men rock and will always rock, and to me they’re the spinal cord of society as a whole.

I’d like to use my Pawpaw (grandpa) as my positive thing..

I lost my father at 10 years old and ended up being taken in by my grandparents. My Pawpaw was and still is the most hard working, honest, loyal, loving, and dedicated man I’ve ever seen. He has taught me so much. Seeing him sacrifice and work hard day in and day out in order to make sure his family had everything they need. Often putting their needs before his own, and never complaining about it.. he taught me to appreciate those things. To see how hard a man does work for his family and how love is not what society pushes out there. I come from Hog farmers, so it’s a 24/7 job… and we all have had to put in work but his never ends. I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am to have him.. even at 25 I could call him right now and he will stop everything he’s doing to come and help me.

That’s the stuff that gets overlooked.

That’s what people take for granted.

He stepped up and completely changed my life for the better, when he didn’t have to. It has shown me how much men do for their families and for the people they care about. Men are often the most selfless ones and will be there to help when called… Without hesitation. I admire that and appreciate it.

Men are more likely to be nerdy, which in this situation I guess means that they have, on average, a higher tendency than women to concentrate very specifically on one thing to the exclusion of all else. This is why people like high-level university professors in the hard sciences are largely male and are always likely to be. In order to develop advanced technologies, we need people like that with that attitude to what they do.

It's not always that easy to talk up stereotypically masculine characteristics, but I think the nuance of this can be expressed in the following example:

It's quite possible that the increased tendency to risk-taking and competitiveness which puts men in hospital, prison and the morgue is the same tendency to risk-taking and competitiveness which causes them to found companies and work at them until they're captains of industry.

Nobody needs to be triumphalist about that. It is what it is.

I really like the way men tend to communicate.

Simple. Clear. And if I need to give feedback to a man he is usually much more accepting of any constructive criticism. Women tend to take offence much easier and I have to be overly sickeningly nice to them or they assume I hate them.

There's a much stronger tendency in men to elope from the established social order and status quo, head off on their own, and create something new.

True, sometimes that something is criminal unfortunately but,

Other times we give birth to new invention, new subcultures, technology and music.

I see this in kindergarten. Mostly boys want to go to the farther end of the playground, away from the eyes of the caretakers. There they imagine, play and create through their own trial and error socialization.

I believe that's vital to civilization really, always has been.

Camaraderie: Men really do have an unrivaled ability to make other men feel like they are part of something big, and important. Men will join forces and become such a close-knit group that they are truly brothers in all but name. And they work together without any unneeded drama, all towards a shared goal.

Independent Thought: There is a quote that ends with: "All progress depends on the unreasonable man" that I enjoy and reference often. Men will regularly go off in their own direction, completely without assistance, and only a short time later almost everyone in the world will follow them, without a second thought. Yet no one dared do that thing, or think that thought out loud, before they led the way.

Romanticism: I've seen it more and more as I've grown older, but men really are the only ones who give life and breath to romantic ideals. And all the art/culture, close and intimate relationships, and other benefits to society that have arisen because of this natural romanticism are filled with such zest and fervour that they are ultimately beyond human measure.

This whole "being a grown up" thing sucks but there are at least a few guys who still enjoy a good battle game. (Hope it's okay for me to be leaving an answer here, as I'm technically not a guy. We sometimes get shit for still caring about starwars/RC planes/mountain bikes/whatever at 45, but personally I think that being able to simply have fun and enjoy life so easily is an important trait.

Every single thing that is pointed out as a toxic trait of masculinity has it's good side and generally a great explanation from our full history as a species as to why men tend to have that trait.

Competitiveness - this has both good and bad sides. Good in that it helps men be motivated to achieve more, to sacrifice more, to push the boundaries of what is possible, whether we are talking a physical or mental or both situation, from sports to science to math to art. Competition moves the boundaries. It also helps fathers guide their sons and daughters when used correctly, onto pushing themselves and discovering just what they are capable of.

Stoicism - this is often shamed, men not sharing their feelings type of stuff. But what about the good side of it, where they n an emergency men are often capable of setting emotions aside and dealing with the immediate threat. Or suffering through something while continuing to protect and provide. Where being the rock in the family whose support is crucial because Dad stands firm against life.

Playfulness - men get accused of still liking nerdy media or weird past times but watch who actually gets down on the ground and plays with children in their creative playtimes. Generally it's their fathers. Mothers will play but often it's more controlled and purposeful. Men encourage their kids to be creative, to try hard, to play hard, to be brave and take risks. Who is more likely to get in the dirty wet sand and try to “dig to China” with their child, the men or the women?

Holding Firm - When it comes down to it one of the traditional roles for men was to set the hard boundaries and be the enforcer. Whether that means telling a teenager “do your homework or else” and meaning it or telling a possible suitor “no dates until we’ve had a chance to talk”.

Supporting Infrastructure - bottom line here is that most of the infrastructure our modern society requires to operate is built and maintained due to the hard work, courage, and sacrifice of men. If men stopped work across the board for one week most cities would be at the breaking point in several key areas like electricity, food, trash removal, fire, police and other basic social services.
