Those girls were dancing on you because you're a tall, decent looking, well dressed mid-forties dude so they assume you can be their sugar daddy.... Nobody gets laid more because they're wearing that dumbass hat lol

Ordered a Sixepnce through Amazon, it's going to come tomorrow. Does color matter?

Bro what? A girl twerking on him is a sexual sign not a provider sign
[–]PuroPincheGains 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I don't know what kind of books you've been reading, but sexual sign and provider sign sound like some fake psychology nonsense that belongs in the early 2000s lol. Those are not things commonly agreed on by this community. Whatever niche guru you heard those things from is just telling you their opinion and I wouldn't stake too much on it.
[–]justadudechllin-7 points 4 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link
The girl was being sexual from the get go, not after his money

[–]KingoftheNorth412 126 points127 points128 points 4 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link
According to Google, a sixpence is a British coin.
According to Urban Dictionary sixpence is anal sex willfully given up usually by the oppressed or underclass.

ahhhh. I appreciate you showing me. I’ve seen those in movies. Not big in american culture though.
[–]Dirtylittlesecret88 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I've seen every bald bartender wear this in Los Angeles. This hat is staple for all the middle aged bald guys out there. It definitely has a place in some part of American culture.

[–]MrDownhillRacer[🍰] 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'd probably call that something like an ascot cap or newsboy hat. But I suppose it has many names.
It really depends on your overall style. You can pull it off more easily if you're a mature man like yourself who is pairing it with a wool overcoat or something.
If you're a 17-year-old wearing it with a video-game graphic tee, bootcut jeans, and rubber sneakers, you'll just be a neckbeard.
[–]BrownThunderMK 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
if your over all outfit is fine you could even pull off a fedora but the problem is no one wears the full suit they just wear the hat that's why it never works
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That’s a hat hipsters in the US wear. But wearing a SnapBack or fitted cap would work too

[–]yurifca 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Did you tell them you're married or were you using your engagement ring? That changes everything.
Also, I laughed so hard at the 'buy a sixpence'. This is absolutely arbitrary, even if it worked for you this time. Tho, I agree with hitting the gym and fitting clothes
[–]lana_del_reymysterio 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Glad it's worked for you, even if you can't fully take advantage.
I'm in quite good shape and wear very well-fitted (but not overly so) clothes, hasn't worked out for me at all though in terms of attention from the ladies
[–]lana_del_reymysterio 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Interesting, for me it's been the opposite.
The fitter and more attractive I become, the more standoffish and less receptive women my age has been to me. Whereas everyone else (men, older women, children) have become SUPER receptive to me.
[–]lana_del_reymysterio 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't know your age, but this wasn't girls my age either. They were 15-20 years younger than me and they were looking good as well.
I'm 24. I imagine that would be a big factor.
It also might be cultural differences involved.
I would say this is definitely a huge factor. I live in Australia and where I live is a more reserved kind of place where people mostly keep to themselves. Talking with strangers isn't really something people do. Whereas I found when I went to the U.S. that the people there were such more sociable and I noticed a big change with the women; much more talkative, direct, and flirtatious than I've ever experienced here where I live.

How much you bench press bro? I’m also 6’3’’ but only weigh around ~185 pounds and just started working out a few months ago. Curious how much work I have left 😅

[–]Never_Guilty 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Appreciate the encouraging words! I still got a long way to go because I can only do 135 for 6 reps. When you say 220 is that your 1 rep max?

Heh, I'm 5'5, 160 and I bench press 150 lbs, 4 sets of 10.
Though I've been at this for years. Keep at it and your strength will go up.
[–]Never_Guilty 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Nice! Also thank you so much for the encouraging words! If it's not too personal of a question, would you say that you have visible muscles and do people notice you work out? I only ask because I'm trying to gauge about what strength level I would need to reach before I can start looking muscular so I keep asking strangers how much they lift lol
[–]SDdude81 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It's obvious definitely that I work out and I get comments* pretty frequently just when I'm wearing normal clothes.
*So far only guys make comments. I f I was taller girls might notice but that's just how it is.
When you work out be sure to go a few times a week and hit several body groups throughout the week. Legs, biceps, triceps, chest, back, shoulders. Keep at it and you'll look good.
[–]MOIST_MAN3 points 4 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link
Word of caution... bench press does not necessarily equal size. I benched 225 when I was 150 lbs and relatively skinny at 5'7" (relatively... I had been working out for 3 years).
I though a 2 plate bench would mean "I made it" and would have decent size but that was totally untrue. I have gotten up to 240 at 155 ish and look a little better now, but I would say now that it is fall/winter, I am not big enough to be noticeable through clothes.
Damn, thanks for the heads up. Other than going from 225 to 240, did you do anything else that helped you improve your size? Higher reps, more accessories, etc?
When you’re only 5’11 and not 6’3 😔

[–]Depressedkid1998 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Depends on ur build, oversized when done right looks good on skinny dudes, you should dress according to how you like the most
[–]infrigato 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It's nice to have an accessoire as a conversation starter, or something to pick up the conversation from. Like having some unusual braclets or tattoos. In your case - hat

The random shit that attractive and tall men will credit for their success with women rather than their height/looks never fails to astonish me.
