I'm not talking about physical attractiveness. I'm talking about girls that I want to pursue. They might be interested or whatever, but ultimately they reject me.

I don't necessarily follow PUA techniques, that makes everything too stressful and not fun because I already overthink things. So my approach is to just be myself, be genuine, and have fun with it. Try to establish a legitimate connection. That's not to say that I don't think any PUA techniques have merit. I read about it from time to time to gain insight, I just don't try to apply it in everything I do. I think having practical experience is the best thing you can have.

I've read about inner game. I'm not exactly the most confident person, in fact, I've been dealing with depression for several years now. Life has its up and downs and I try to make the best of it. But I have always been focused on trying to be the best I can be. I'm smart: I go to a good University, I'm in a tough major, and was given a spot to do research as a sophomore. I play the guitar and I write my own music. I've been told by others it's pretty good. This is just a hobby that I enjoy. I'm fit: I lift weights and do cardio, I think I have a nice body. I think maybe the biggest area of my life that I'm lacking in is my ability to handle social situations adeptly, and make new friends with ease. I struggle with a bit of social anxiety.

I thought the whole point of PUA was to become a confident, self-assured man.. One who is constantly seeking to improve himself so that he may get the girl HE wants. I've been told that not true.

I'm a little frustrated with all of this because I met this girl I really liked, we dated for about a month, and she called it off. I thought I was doing well, but apparently she's just not that into me or doesn't see herself with me. And yes, I know, there are billions of women. That's not exactly comforting when I've lived my whole life feeling like an outsider, an outcast, and found a girl I could REALLY relate to.

Edit: I just want to say, thank you all for taking the time out of your day to respond to my post and help. You're all wonderful people!
